Malaysia flight 370: "(pilot) Zaharie used the home flight simulator to practise extreme landings, including on remote Indian Ocean islands such as the US air base in Diego Garcia"

He also received a call on his cell from someone who used a false ID to purchase the phones SIM card. This call was the last one made to the captain before the plane disappeared in flight.  One must wonder how, after three weeks this plane, or any trace of it remains hidden.  A full size 777 doesn't normally just vanish into thin air, we can still just postulate as to the why.

I am as puzzled as the next guy.

Police hunt mystery woman who made final phone call to doomed jet captain as first picture emerges of his estranged wife and family

The captain of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 received a two-minute call shortly before take-off from a mystery woman using a mobile phone number obtained under a false identity.

It was one of the last calls made to or from the mobile of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah in the hours before his Boeing 777 left Kuala Lumpur 16 days ago.

Investigators are treating it as potentially significant because anyone buying a pay-as-you-go SIM card in Malaysia has to fill out a form giving their identity card or passport number.

Introduced as an anti-terrorism measure following 9/11, this ensures that every number is registered to a traceable person.

But in this case police traced the number to a shop selling SIM cards in Kuala Lumpur.

They found that it had been bought ‘very recently’ by someone who gave a woman’s name – but was using a false identity.

The discovery raises fears of a possible link between Captain Zaharie, 53, and terror groups whose members routinely use untraceable SIM cards.

Everyone else who spoke to the pilot on his phone in the hours before the flight took off has already been interviewed.

Today, planes and ships were scrambled to find a pallet and other debris in a remote patch of the southern Indian Ocean as the search resumed for the missing jet.

The pallet was spotted by a search plane yesterday, but has not been closely examined. Wooden pallets are commonly used in shipping, but can also be used in cargo containers carried on planes.

It was the latest in a series of clues experts and searchers are trying to pin down to solve the mystery of what happened to Flight 370 when it disappeared on March 8 with 239 people on board.

In a separate development, The Mail on Sunday has learned that investigators are now poised to question Captain Shah’s estranged wife in detail.

They have waited two weeks out of respect, but will now begin formally interviewing Faizah Khan following pressure from FBI agents assisting the inquiry.

Although the couple – who have three children – were separated, they had been living under the same roof.

A source said: ‘Faizah has been spoken to gently by officers but she has not been questioned in detail to establish her husband’s behaviour and state of mind in the days leading to the incident.

‘This is partly for cultural reasons. It is not considered appropriate in Malaysia to subject people in situations of terrible bereavement to the stress of intensive questioning.’

The softly-softly approach has been challenged by the team of FBI agents working with Malaysian police. They have pointed out that she may hold ‘vital clues and information’ to Zaharie’s mental state.

‘The whole world is looking for this missing plane and the person who arguably knows most about the state of mind of the man who captained the plane is being left alone,’ said a source close to the FBI team.

The source added: ‘If we want to eliminate the chief pilot from the inquiry, we must interview her in detail to find out what his state of mind was.’

The mystery caller emerged when Malaysian investigators examined the phone records of both Zaharie and his co-pilot, 27-year-old Fariq Abdul Hamid.

Investigators were keen to trace the caller and interview them, although they have stressed that the fact the SIM card was registered to a non-existent ID card does not necessarily indicate a criminal or terrorist connection.

Political activists in Malaysia sometimes use SIM cards bought with bogus identity cards if they fear that their phones may be bugged by the country’s authoritarian ruling party.

Malaysia flight 370: possible wreckage in Indian Ocean west of Australia

Could this be where flight 370 went down?  Reported just an hour ago, there are reported pieces floating on the surface, they may be parts of the Boeing 777, they may be something else.  A US Orion plane is en route and will arrive tomorrow afternoon, along with two other aircraft to begin a search of an area more than 100,000 square miles in size.

We may have an answer soon.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Australia says possible objects in Indian Ocean

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (CNN) -- Authorities have spotted two objects in the Indian Ocean that are possibly related to the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Thursday.

"New and credible information has come to light in relation to the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean," Abbott said in the the Australian House of Representatives in Canberra. "The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has received information based on satellite imagery of objects possibly related to the search.

"Following specialist analysis of this satellite imagery, two possible objects related to the search have been identified," he said. "I can inform the House that a Royal Australian Air Force Orion has been diverted to attempt to locate the objects."

Three other planes will carry out a "more intensive follow-up search," he said.

Australian search teams have been at the forefront of the hunt for the missing plane in the remote southern Indian Ocean.

The announcement from Abbott raises hopes of finding parts of the plane after a huge search that is now in its 13th day. Previous reports of debris found in the sea have not turned out to be related to the passenger jet, which vanished over Southeast Asia earlier this month.

But those reports came before the search area was massively expanded into two large arcs, one that heads northwest into Asia, the other southwest into the Indian Ocean.

Other pieces of information related to the investigation into the plane's disappearance had emerged Wednesday.

Malaysia flight 370: Co-pilot is "religious" and spoke last words before communications were turned off

The is becoming more like a Sherlock Holmes mystery with each passing day.  Theories abound yet it is like watching someone try to herd cats.  Nothing makes sense yet everything needs to be made sense of.  Each bit of information is to be looked at and integrated or discarded, nothing should be dismissed out of hand.  As Sherlock said, "Once you eliminate the impossible, what remains, no matter how improbable must be the truth".  Is it improbable that the plane landed somewhere, the passengers being held as negotiating pawns?  Yes it is, but it is also possible.  Is it improbable that the planes transponder will be reprogrammed, the plane refueled and then crashed into a building or city?  Yes, and also possible.  The scenarios are so numerous it is a tough task to narrow anything down at this point.

When we find the plane there will be answers, until then there is only speculation.  Here is the latest news with another small piece.

Missing flight's co-pilot was religious, not reckless: family

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Friends and family of the co-pilot who flew the missing Malaysia Airlines jet said the 27-year-old was religious and serious about his career, countering news reports suggesting he was a cockpit Romeo who was reckless on the job.

Fariq Abdul Hamid, who joined the national flag carrier in 2007, was helping to fly the Boeing 777 whose disappearance on Saturday has turned into one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries.

There has been no trace of the plane carrying 239 people nor any sign of wreckage as the navies and military aircraft of more than a dozen countries scour the seas across Southeast Asia.

Australian media reported that Fariq and a pilot invited two women to join them in the cockpit on a flight from Thailand to Malaysia in 2011, where he smoked and flirted with them.

Jonti Roos, a South African living in Melbourne, confirmed to Reuters that the incident took place but said she did not feel that Fariq behaved irresponsibly.

Malaysia Airlines said it was shocked by the allegations in the report, which was based on photos of the apparent cockpit meeting and an interview with Roos.

Smoking has been banned on almost all commercial flights since the late 1990s. Cockpit doors have been reinforced since the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington and passengers have largely been barred from entering the cockpit during the flight since then.

The report also angered some of Fariq's friends, some of whom took to social media to rebut the report first aired by Australian Channel Nine's A Current Affair program.

Fariq, first officer of Flight MH370, had clocked a relatively few 2,700 hours of flying.

He had wanted to become a pilot from his school days, said a relative who asked not to be identified.

"He is a good student. He worked very hard to get where he was. His parents are so proud of him," said the relative, who had visited Fariq's family home for prayers in the outskirts of the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.

Fariq and his family are Muslims, like a majority of people in the Southeast Asian nation.

"And now, there is news that he was someone else. It is a very cruel thing to do at this time. We just want him to be safe," the relative said.

POLICE QUESTION FAMILY

The focus of a probe into the plane's disappearance could be turning to the flight crew or passengers with aviation experience after sources with knowledge of the Malaysian investigation told Reuters they increasingly suspect foul play.

Radar evidence suggests it was diverted hundreds of miles off course, the sources said, an action that could only have been taken deliberately, either by flying the jet manually or by programming the auto-pilot.

Investigators were still looking at "four or five" possibilities, including a diversion that was intentional or under duress, or an explosion, Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said on Friday. Police would search the pilot's home if necessary and were still investigating all passengers and crew, he said.

The captain of the flight, 53-year-old Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was a flying enthusiast who spent his off days tinkering with a flight simulator of the plane that he had set up at home, current and former co-workers said. Malaysia Airlines officials did not believe he would have sabotaged the flight.

Fariq's relative confirmed police had come to question his family about his background this week.

The son of a high-ranking civil servant in Malaysia's central Selangor state near Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Fariq was often seen attending prayers at a mosque near his family home, family and friends said.

"I haven't stopped praying to Allah in hope that my grandson and the other passengers are safe," Fariq's grandmother, Halimah Abdul Rahman, 84, told media in the northeastern Malaysian state of Kelantan from where the family hails. "He is a good person, respectful to elders and religious."

Malaysia flight 370 pilot now seen as likely culprit in "hijacking" of airliner

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah is alleged to be a supporter of Malaysia's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, himself a rabid pro-Muslim Brotherhood supporter.  It is also reported that the pilots family moved out of their home one day before the plane went missing.

Authorities are now focusing on the plane landing and the crew or someone else holding the 200+ passengers hostage.  There are over 600 possible landing sites within the range of the plane that have a runway longer than 5,000 feet, one would assume every one will be checked and secured.

It is becoming clear that the disappearance of flight 370 is jihad.  The evidence is mounting that this is a deliberate act most likely by the pilot.

From The Mail Online March 16 by Simon Parry, Amanda Williams and Wills Robinson

'Democracy is dead': 'Fanatical' missing airliner pilot pictured wearing political slogan T-shirt

An image has emerged of the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet wearing a T-shirt with a 'Democracy is Dead' slogan as it has been revealed he could have hijacked the plane in an anti-government protest.

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a father-of-three, was said to be a 'fanatical' supporter of the country's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim - jailed for homosexuality just hours before the jet disappeared.

It has also been revealed that the pilot's wife and three children moved out of the family home the day before the plane went missing.

It comes as FBI investigators say the disappearance of MH370 may have been ‘an act of piracy’ and the possibility that hundreds of passengers are being held at an unknown location has not been ruled out.

Officials also revealed that it is possible the aircraft could have landed and transmitted a satellite signal from the ground. If the plane was intact and had enough electrical power in reserve, it would be able to send out a radar 'ping'.

Captian Shah was an ‘obsessive’ supporter of Ibrahim. And hours before the doomed flight left Kuala Lumpur it is understood 53-year-old Shah attended a controversial trial in which Ibrahim was jailed for five years.

Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges.

Police sources have confirmed that Shah was a vocal political activist – and fear that the court decision left him profoundly upset. It was against this background that, seven hours later, he took control of a Boeing 777-200 bound for Beijing and carrying 238 passengers and crew.

Yesterday, Malaysian police searched his house in the upmarket Kuala Lumpur suburb of Shah Alam, where he had installed a home-made flight simulator. But this newspaper can reveal that investigators had already spent much of last week examining two laptops removed from Shah’s home. One is believed to contain data from the simulator

Confirming rising fears, Malaysia’s prime minister Najib Razak announced yesterday that MH370 was deliberately steered off course after its communication system was switched off. He said it headed west over the Malaysian seaboard and could have flown for another seven hours on its fuel reserves.

It is not yet clear where the plane was taken, however Mr Razak said the most recent satellite data suggests the plane could have been making for one of two possible flight corridors. The search, involving 43 ships and 58 aircraft from 15 countries, switched from the South China Sea to the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.

In another dramatic twist early Sunday Indian officials however, said the search was on hold until 'fresh search areas' were defined by Malaysia. It is unclear what the reason was for the delay.

Data showing the number of plausible runways where the plane could have touched down - which need to be at least 5,000ft - offer a baffling number of potential locations.

According to a map drawn up by U.S. radio station WNYC, there are 634 locations which could fit, from Australia to the Maldives to Pakistan.

However, the true number is likely to be even higher, as estimates of how far the plane could have travelled have been increased since the calculations were carried out.

US investigators say faint ‘pings’ were being transmitted for several hours after the flight lost contact with the ground.

Meanwhile, military radar showed the jet climbed to 45,000ft – above its service limit – which could have been a deliberate attempt to knock out the passengers and crew.

Anwar Ibrahim is a broadly popular democracy icon and former deputy prime minister whose prosecution on a charge of sodomy is seen by many Malaysians as political persecution.

The raids on Captain Shah’s home appeared stage-managed as a display of intent after the Prime Minister said the focus of the investigation was now on ‘crew and passengers’ as a result of the latest leads.

But investigators have told the Mail on Sunday inquiries into the background of the pilot actually began days earlier.

Malaysian police, helped by FBI agents from the US, are looking into the political and religious backgrounds of both Zaharie and his co-pilot. Zaharie’s home was sealed off yesterday as police spent an hour inside.

However, a senior investigation source said two laptops were taken from the property in low-key visits by police early last week despite a series of denials by officials that his home had been searched or raided.

One laptop taken away is thought to contain data from the flight simulator while a second contained little information. Zaharie’s personal laptop was not found, and is thought to have been with him in the cockpit of the plane, the source said.

Zaharie’s co-workers have told investigators the veteran pilot was a social activist who was vocal and fervent in his support of Ibrahim.

‘Colleagues made it clear to us that he was someone who held strong political beliefs and was strident in his support for Anwar Ibrahim,’ another investigation source said. ‘We were told by one colleague he was obsessed with politics.’

In their interviews, colleagues said Zaharie told them he planned to attend the court case involving Anwar on March 7, just hours before the Beijing flight, but investigators had not yet been able to confirm if he was among the crowd of Anwar supporters at court.

Zaharie is believed to be separated or divorced from his wife although they share the same house, close to Kuala Lumpur’s international airport. They have three children, but no family members were at home yesterday: only the maid has remained there.

Malaysia flight 370: Investigators looking at Chinese Uighur passenger who had flight training

The Uighurs are Muslim Chinese who live in the Western section of China, and have been fomenting unrest there for the past few years.  It is possible this person is a key player, but it is going to take some time to know for sure if this is a jihad attack.  As time passes and discovery of the plane continues to elude searchers, the likelihood of it being jihad increases.

Missing Malaysia Airlines jet: Investigation paying 'special attention' to Chinese Uighur passenger

Police investigating the backgrounds of all 239 people aboard the missing Malaysia Airlines flight are paying “special attention” to a 35 year-old Chinese Uighur man who undertook flight simulation training, according to a report in a leading Malay language newspaper in Kuala Lumpur.

The Uighurs Muslim ethnic minority group from the north-western Chinese province of Xinjiang have been battling for independence since they were brought under Chinese control in 1949, claiming they are oppressed by China’s authoritarian government and face religious restrictions and widespread discrimination.

Earlier this month the Uighurs, who make up 45 percent of the population of Xinjiang, were blamed for a violent attack at a Chinese train station.

At least 100 people have been killed in the past year in violent clashes between Uighurs and Chinese security forces.

The Harian Metro newspaper quoted an unnamed source as saying the man is not a suspect over the plane’s disappearance but that investigators were delving into his background.

According to the source the man has a PHD from a university in Britain was recently worked as a lecturer at a university in Turkey.

The source said he undertook flight simulation training in Sweden in around 2006.

Malaysian officials have not confirmed the information.

No group has claimed responsibility for the plane’s disappearance.

And in Pakistan, banning child marriage is "Un-Islamic"

Iraq is almost there in making child marriage fully legal (and sharia-compliant) but Pakistan has had child bride nuptials as a part of being a Islamic country for a long time.  Calling the banning of child marriage un-Islamic makes it clear that this is a religious problem, but to point that out is, as always "Islamophobic".

From The Nation March 11

Laws prohibiting underage marriage not Islamic: Council of Islamic Ideology
ISLAMABAD- The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) ruled today that Pakistani laws prohibiting marriage of underage children are un-Islamic. At the end of its two-day session today, the CII said there is no minimum age of marriage according to Islam.

“Islam does not forbid marriage of young children,” the council said. “However, the consummation of marriage is only allowed when both husband and wife have reached puberty.”

Generally agreed to be age 9, as per the example of Aisha.

The CII's ruling comes a day after its chairman Maulana Mohammad Khan Sheerani said laws regarding second marriage of a man in the presence of a first wife were against religious principles. "Sharia allows men to have more than one wife and we demanded that the government should amend the law," he told reporters after a CII meeting.

Pakistani law requires a man to have written approval from his existing wife or wives for another marriage. Sheerani urged the government to formulate Sharia-compliant laws related to marriage, divorce, adulthood and 'will'. According to the Constitution of Pakistan, the CII is a recommendatory body that advises the parliament in the law-making process, but cannot enact laws on its own.

Iraqi cabinet approve draft law legalizing marriage to 9 year old girls

The country we allegedly saved from Saddam Hussein is soon to be a fully sharia compliant state.  The marriage to a child is sanctioned in Islam and is practiced by many Islamic countries and hundreds of millions of Muslims.

Child marriage is what Muhammad did, and as he is "al insan al kamil" or the perfect man.  Even his child bride, Aisha commented on it in the hadiths; "Narrated Aisha that the prophet wrote the marriage contract with her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: "I have been informed that Aisha remained with the prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)."" Bukhari vol. 7, #65:64

Iraqi women protest against proposed Islamic law in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - About two dozen Iraqi women demonstrated on Saturday in Baghdad against a draft law approved by the Iraqi cabinet that would permit the marriage of nine-year-old girls and automatically give child custody to fathers.

The group's protest was on International Women's Day and a week after the cabinet voted for the legislation, based on Shi'ite Islamic jurisprudence, allowing clergy to preside over marriages, divorces and inheritances. The draft now goes to parliament.

Where are women in the West, and their protest voices? They are suspiciously absent in their public condemnation, as usual.

"On this day of women, women of Iraq are in mourning," the protesters shouted.

"We believe that this is a crime against humanity," said Hanaa Eduar, a prominent Iraqi human rights activist. "It would deprive a girl of her right to live a normal childhood."

The UN's representative to Iraq, Nickolay Mladenov, also condemned the legislation. Mladenov wrote on Twitter the bill "risks constitutionally protected rights for women and international commitment".

The legislation goes to the heart of the divisions in Iraq since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003, as Shi'ite Islamists have come to lead the government and look to impose their religious values on society at large.

It describes girls as reaching puberty at nine, making them fit for marriage, makes the father sole guardian of his children at two and condones a husband's right to insist on sexual intercourse with his wife whenever he wishes.

Both child and marital rape enshrined in law together; a twisted twofer for sure.

The legislation is referred to as the Ja'afari Law, named after the sixth Shi'ite imam Ja'afar al-Sadiq, who founded his own school of jurisprudence.

The draft was put forward by Justice Minister Hassan al-Shimari, a member of the Shi'ite Islamist Fadila party, and approved by the cabinet on February 25.

Salvo of rockets from Gaza strike southern Israel

Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired at least 130 rockets into southern Israel, the Israeli military said. No immediate casualties were reported.

Israel’s advanced “Iron Dome” defense system intercepted at least three of the rockets, while the others fell in open areas, the military said earlier.

Wednesday’s barrage set off air-raid sirens in border communities of southern Israel.

In Gaza, the Islamic Jihad militant group claimed responsibility. It says it fired more than 130 rockets to avenge the deaths of three members killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Police raised the level of alert in the south, saying the rockets struck along the length of Israel’s border with Gaza.

One hit near a public library in the town of Sderot, and another near a petrol station.

With heavy rain hampering the Israeli air force’s ability to conduct air strikes, the military said it had hit “two terror locations” in northern and southern Gaza with artillery fire, but there were no Palestinian reports of injuries, according to AFP.

“We have attacked two sites with artillery, with our tanks on the border with Gaza,” Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, the chief military spokesman, told journalists...

CIA director Brennan; "Al-Qaeda’s ideology (Islam, is) built on “a perverse and very corrupt interpretation of the Qur’an”

John Brennan
(CNSNews.com/Penny Starr)

Another non-Muslim talking out their backside, insulting Muslims my telling them what Islam is.  Al Qaeda follows the behavior and normative actions of Muhammad, and they tell us by copiously quoting Qur'anic sura and verse.  There are Muslims who want nothing to do with the Al Qaeda version, but that does not diminish or negate how jihadists, and Al Qaeda use Islamic texts and tenets to justify their actions.  All four schools of Islamic jurisprudence as well as Al Azhar University in Cairo, seat of Sunni power uphold as right the doctrinal foundations Al Qaeda and jihadists continually use to justify their attacks.  Al Qaeda is not perverting or corrupting the Qur'an, they are elevating it to the highest level of respect and honor.  Brennan doesn't get this, and spouts useless rhetoric which is gobbled up by the masses as gospel truth.  Thus the continued spread of Islam and the support from useful idiots like Brennan.

CIA Head: Al-Qaeda Has 'Perverse and Very Corrupt Interpretation of Qur'an'
(CNSNews.com) – Al-Qaeda’s ideology, built on “a perverse and very corrupt interpretation of the Qur’an,” resonates in many parts of the world, and is often fed by political repression, economic disenfranchisement and “lack of education and ignorance,” CIA Director John Brennan said on Tuesday.

During an event at the Council on Foreign Relations, Brennan was asked about the “war of ideas” surrounding Islam, which the questioner said many Americans tend to equate with violence.

In the course of his response Brennan said al-Qaeda has “a perverse and very corrupt interpretation of the Qur’an. One of the things that I'm struck with when I travel throughout the Middle East and I meet with leaders, military and civilian – these are individuals who are Qur’anic scholars themselves and they are the ones who are most annoyed at how al-Qaeda has hijacked their religion and how they have really distorted the teachings of Mohammed, you know, for violent purposes.”

Taqiyya in action, but Brennan does not know how to identify it.

“Now, quite unfortunately, though, that ideology, that agenda of al-Qaeda has gained resonance and following in many parts of the world,” he continued. “It’s fed a lot of times by, you know, political repression, by economic, you know, disenfranchisement, by, you know, lack of education and ignorance, so there – there are a number of phenomena right now that I think are fueling the fires of, you know, this ideology.”

Assertions of a link between Islamist terrorism and poverty or lack of education have been called into question by some research.

A Rand Corporation report on counterterrorism, prepared for the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 2009, found that, “Terrorists are not particularly impoverished, uneducated, or afflicted by mental disease. Demographically, their most important characteristic is normalcy (within their environment). Terrorist leaders actually tend to come from relatively privileged backgrounds.”

“Terrorists turn out to be more rather than less educated than the general population” according to a number of academic studies, one of the report authors noted.

English school accepts its dhimmi status, removes pork from menu in order not to offend Muslims

Parents fury as pork sausages are banned from the school menu and replaced with halal meat

Parents have condemned a school's decision to ban all pork products from the menu and replace other meats with halal versions.

Pupils aged between three and 11 at Brinsworth Manor Infant and Junior Schools in Rotherham - which Ofsted identifies as having only a small number of pupils from minority ethnic groups - will no longer be able to enjoy sausages, bacon or ham.

Parents at both schools, which share a site, were told of the decision in a letter from Rotherham Council’s principal catering officer Ron Parry, who wrote that there had been ‘minor adjustments’ to the lunch menu.

The move comes as Britain's vet John Blackwell called for Muslims and Jews to use more 'acceptable' methods of killing.

And parents have branded the decision 'a scandal' as only twenty per cent of the 600 pupils are Muslim and the decision to provide halal meat was up to individual schools in the town.

A mother with an 11-year-old girl at the school, who asked not to be named for fear of being branded racist, said: 'At home I pay more for organic and free range food. I am a Christian but I don’t do it because of that, it’s more for the respect of how animals are killed.

'The way the animals are slaughtered for halal meat is a religious killing and I don’t feel it should be in schools.

'My daughter has been anxious about the change as she has concerns about if it is humane killing. I believe in animal welfare rights and standards of meat production that halal does not follow.

"Noah" movie banned in three countries, Al Azhar calls it "Un-Islamic"

A scene from "Noah."

Bahrain, UAE and Qatar refuse to allow it to play, and Egypt is close to doing the same thing. Christians, Catholics and other religious believers are criticizing it as a less than true account, but none are calling for a ban or for it to be censored.

Egyptian Islamic body says Russell Crowe’s ‘Noah’ should be banned

RUSSELL Crowe’s new big budget biblical epic Noah is facing a battle to get on to screens, with bans in place in several countries.

The Hollywood Reporter states that censor boards in Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates will refuse a local release for the film, which was directed by Darren Aronofsky for Paramount.

Studio executives are expecting similar bans in Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait, the site reported.

Egypt’s top Islamic body has already claimed the film is irreligious and should be banned.

The Al-Azhar institute, one of the region’s main Sunni Muslim authorities, said the movie, slated to open in Egypt on March 26, violated Islam by portraying a prophet.

Al-Azhar can play an advisory role on censoring movies and books in Egypt, but does not have the final say.

Portraying a prophet “contradicts the stature of prophets and messengers ... and antagonises the faithful,” the institution said in a statement.

Egypt’s censorship board must approve any movie before it is shown, but it was not immediately clear whether it has approved Noah yet.

Egypt has censored other movies in the past, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code after protests from the Orthodox Coptic Church.

But it did allow the screening of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of Christ, which depicts Jesus being crucified.

Muslim Gunmen in Nigeria Kill 16 Christians, Destroy Numerous Homes
JOS, Nigeria, March 5, 2014 (Morning Star News) – Armed gunmen believed to be Muslim Fulani herdsmen yesterday and early today attacked a cluster of villages in Plateau state, killing 16 Christians and destroying numerous homes, Christian leaders said.

The assailants, reportedly dressed in military camouflage, shot randomly as they struck Torok, Gwon, Gwarim, Gwareng and Rim villages in Rim District of the Riyom Local Government Area west of Jos. Musa Gunduma Dang of Gwon village said they killed his mother, wife, four children and three other relatives.

“They shot sporadically and set my house ablaze, killing all members of my family, and the entire village has been destroyed,” Dang said.

Daniel Bitrus Manjang, a pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), told Morning Star News the attacks were “very tragic.”

“About 200 houses were burned, and 16 Christians were killed,” said Manjang, a resident of Rim.

About 10 years ago Manjang lost his father, the Rev. Bitrus Manjang, a former COCIN vice president, to a similar attack in Rim village, he said.

The Rev. Patrick Kim, COCIN pastor in Gwarim, told Morning Star News by phone that the Muslim attackers invaded the villages at about 4 p.m., killing and destroying until 12:30 a.m.

The church leaders said two worship sanctuaries and residences of two COCIN pastors were among the buildings set ablaze.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah said all races should unite under Sharia law and that the new penal code was a 'great achievement' for the small Southeast Asian nation.

Starting in April, Brunei will begin implementing a version of Sharia that allows for penalties such as amputation for theft and stoning for adultery.

Under limited circumstances, punishments can be applied to non-Muslim residents of the oil-rich country, according to those who have seen the law.

Public criticism of the government is extremely rare in the country, but some citizens have turned to the Internet to express alarm at the law.

Around one-third of Brunei's 440,000 people are non-Muslims, mostly Christian or Buddhist Chinese.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah told legislators Thursday that all races should unite and support the laws, which he said were a 'great achievement for the country, and not a backward or old-fashioned step.'

He is right, it is not a backwards step, as Islam has been stuck in the 7th century for 1400 years.  There is no "back" to step to.

Jihad in China; 27 dead, over 100 injured as knife-wielding jihadists rampage through train station

Islam is getting bolder, trying each time to up the number of dead, increasing the terror.  Chinese Uighurs have been stirring the pot for a while now, this seems to be a raising of the stakes.

The MSM is all over this but not one mention of who did it.  They just cannot bring them, selves to say the word Islam, Muslim or jihad.  The misleading continues.

27 dead, 109 injured in Kunming railway station attack

KUNMING (AFP, REUTERS) - Unidentified armed gunmen reportedly stormed a railway station in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, yesterday, leaving 27 dead and at least 109 injured, reports said.

State television said on its official microblog that the incident had been deemed a "violent terror attack".

Victims described knife-wielding attackers dressed in black bursting into Kunming railway station and slashing indiscriminately.

Beijing's top security official was reported to be heading to the scene.

The incident "was an organised, premeditated violent terrorist attack" carried out by "unidentified knife-wielding people", the official news agency Xinhua said, citing authorities.

Police shot dead a number of the perpetrators at the train station in southwestern Yunnan province, according to posts by local television station K6 on its official Sina Weibo account, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter.

Officers sealed off a wide area around the station, it added, while Xinhua said they were still questioning people at the site.

Meanwhile ambulances had delivered the injured to hospitals around the city, K6 reported.

The attackers carried knives and were dressed in similar black clothing, the official China News Service said, citing eyewitnesses.

"A group of men carrying weapons burst into the train station plaza and the ticket hall, stabbing whoever they saw," it said.

Photos posted on Sina Weibo showed blood spattered across the floor and medical staff crouching over bodies lying on the ground, although the authenticity of the images could not be verified.

Crowds gathered outside the station among police officers and ambulances, the images also showed.

State broadcaster CCTV also called the incident a "terrorist attack" on its Weibo account.

China's top security official Meng Jianzhu would travel to Kunming, it said, while President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang sent condolences to the victims and their families.

Yunnan has no history of violent attacks, and the motive for the stabbings was not immediately clear.
