Radical Indonesian Muslim Group to Hold Mass Prayer for bin Laden

The Islamic Defenders Front, a radical Indonesian Muslim group in Jakarta, announced plans to hold "a mass prayer for Bin Laden," CNN reports. 

In a text message to the media, the Islamic Defenders Front announced its prayer service just two days after the world's most wanted man was killed and buried by U.S. special forces.  Mourners were invited to “express gratitude to the late martyr Sheikh Osama bin Laden.” The service will take place in Jakarta, the capital of one of the world's most populous Muslim-majority nations on Wednesday.

Al-Qaeda has ties to Indonesian terrorists and radical groups dating back about three decades.  The Islamic Defenders Front is known for attacking Jakarta nightclubs and threatening Westerners, according to Jane's Terrorism & Security Monitor. Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa said on Tuesday that security measures had been escalated for the meeting of ten Southeast Asian leaders in Jakarta this Saturday.

Among some conservative and radical Muslim groups, news of bin Laden's death has caused anger, reports the Jakarta Globe. The Indonesia Council of Ulema (MUI), the country's highest Islamic body, slammed the US decision to bury bin Laden at sea: “A Muslim, whatever his profession, even a criminal, their rites must be respected. There must be a prayer and the body should be wrapped in white cloth before being buried in the earth, not at sea,” MUI chief Amidhan said. The United States says bin Laden received Muslim rites but his body was “eased” into the Arabian Sea so no one could turn his grave into a shrine.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Chairman of the Cordoba Initiative, which seeks to develop projects that mend conflict between Western and Islamic communities, is scheduled to be the subject of a Q & A segment at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA Wednesday night.

The event was planned long before the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, the  terrorist and leader of al-Qaida, the extremist group responsible for the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center twin towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. 

The Cordoba Initiative, according to the group's website, was founded by Adbul Rauf in 2004, and promotes “improving understanding and building trust among people of all cultures and faith traditions."

As former imam of Masjid al-Farah, a mosque near Ground Zero in New York City, Abdul Rauf and his organization are often confronted with issues revolving around extremism and radicalism across the globe, as well as the depiction of Islam as a violent and extremist culture.

Iranian MP: Bin Laden was Zionist puppet

Iranian official says arch-terrorist used 'to present violent image of Islam after 9/11 attacks'  

Iranian officials have begun to hypothesize on the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, pronounced dead by the US early Monday morning.

Ismail Kosari, a member of the Iranian parliament's Security and Foreign Policy Commission and a close affiliate of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, postulated that bin Laden was actually operated by Israel.  


"He was just a puppet controlled by the Zionist regime in order to present a violent image of Islam after the September 11 attacks," he said, adding that the al-Qaeda leader's assassination proves he had "an expiration date" forcing the US to kill him.


"Bin Laden's death reflects the passing of a temporary US pawn, and symbolizes the end of one era and the beginning of another in American policy in the region," Kosari said.


Another member of the commission, Javad Jahangirzadeh, accused the US of carrying out terror attacks with bin Laden's assistance. He says the administration killed the terrorist in order to prevent information about this from leaking out.


"The West has been very pleased with bin Laden's operations in recent years," Jahangirzadeh said. "Now the West was forced to kill him in order to prevent a possible leak of information he had, information more precious than gold."


He said the arch-terrorist could have endangered Western interests had he been allowed to go on living, by exposing past as well as future operations.

03.05.2011--Jowhar (Mareeg.com)As soon as Bin Laden killing news surfaced in Somalia, Al-shabaab militia in Jowhar town of Somalia ordered local residents not to follow any news related to that particular incident and threatened that they will severely punish any person who is seen listening to radios airing anything related to that incident.

According to local residents in Jawhar, Televisions or Radios were not turned on during the whole day yesterday after Alshabaab’s announcement. Residents avoided discussing anything related to that incident.

 According to local woman who requested not to be identified for security reasons, Al-Shabaab operatives  especially members of the much revered Amniyaad brigades  hurled hand grenades inside some houses where some anxious residents gathered secretly to watch TV stations that were intensively covering this extraordinary incident, many were injured as result of these bombs.

 “It’s very obvious that Al-Shabaab are on state of denial when it comes to Bin laden’s killing by the Americans, they are trying to terrorize us to prevent us from following anything about Bin-Laden’s sudden killing, they know that we all are happy to hear this interesting news, they are like orphans now” said the local Somali woman from Jowhar.

Meanwhile, Al-Shabaab hasn’t commented yet about Bin Laden killing by the Americans, however, conspiracy theories are anxiously circulated among Somalis, according to one conspiracy theory; Bin Laden was killed apparently few years ago by natural cause most likely kidney failure and was buried in secret location which was lately discovered by CIA, who in turn concocted this fascinating Hollywood style scenario for purely electoral purposes.

A nice story line, how about we get Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt to star?

 Whether this is genuine operation or concocted scenario one thing is certain, Bin Laden has left an orphan in Somalia who appears in “Denial state” and probably soon will realize that their god father is clearly DEAD.

Palestinian rivals Hamas and Fatah sign reconciliation deal

President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal announce end to four years of division in pact brokered by Egypt 

The rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas have signed a landmark reconciliation pact aimed at ending their bitter four-year rift.

A ceremony marking the deal, which was mediated by Egypt, took place on Wednesday at the Egyptian intelligence headquarters in Cairo.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal said his faction was "ready to pay any price" for reconciliation among Palestinians, the Arabic satellite channel al-Arabiya reported.

The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, said the accord ended "four black years" that hurt national Palestinian interests. He also said at the ceremony that he would soon visit the Hamas-held Gaza Strip.

"We announce to Palestinians that we turn forever the black page of division," he said.
The pact provides for the creation of a joint caretaker Palestinian government before national elections next year.

Critics have cast doubt on the durability of the Egyptian-brokered accord, which has been denounced by Israel.

The deal calls for the formation of an interim government to run the occupied West Bank, where Abbas is based, and Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and prepare for parliamentary and presidential elections within a year.

Palestinians see this reconciliation as crucial for their drive to establish an independent state in the territories captured by Israel in the 1967 war.

Well, if the death of bin-Laden is the end of the war on terror and the end of Al-Qaeda, why are people still dying at the hands of the "religion of peace"?  It may have something to do with the Qur'ans call to either convert, subjugate or kill non-believers and the dictates of Muhammad to "...kill and be killed for Allah..."(9-111).  I guess bin-Ladens death did nothing to change that.

Iraq: car bomb near cafe kills 16 in Baghdad 

 

BAGHDAD (AP) — A car bomb tore through a cafe packed with young men watching a football match Tuesday in Baghdad, killing at least 16 people, officials said. It was the first major attack since U.S. commandos killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the attack, which struck a Shiite enclave in a mainly Sunni neighborhood, but it bore the hallmarks of the terror network's chapter in Iraq. Al-Qaida operatives have vowed revenge for bin Laden's death on Monday.

Iraqi security officials said Monday that they were increasing security amid fears that insurgents would try to strike immediately following bin Laden's death as a way to show they are still a potent force.

Most of the dead and wounded were young people watching a football match, said police and hospital officials. A vendor selling food near the cafe also was among the 16 killed. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information, said 37 people also were wounded.

The attack occurred in a Shiite enclave in the former insurgent stronghold of Dora, an area in southwestern Baghdad that saw some of the fiercest fighting of the Iraq conflict.
Many Iraqis were quick to blame the terror network.

"This is the cowardly reaction of al-Qaida after the killing of the big terrorist bin Laden. They intend to do this against such gatherings in Shiite areas," Jasim Hashim, a 20-year-old student who lives about 200 yards (meters) from where the bomb went off in front of a popular cafe.

He said his parents had refused to let him go out, fearing just such an attack after bin Laden's capture, but one of his close friends was at the cafe and killed in the attack.

Violence in Iraq has decreased dramatically since the height of the insurgency when groups such as al-Qaida in Iraq carried out car bombs, kidnappings and shootings daily. But the terror groups still have the ability to wage violent attacks as the U.S. prepares to withdraw all its forces by the end of this year.

The worst is yet to come.  Once Islam takes back the reigns.

Photo of bin-Laden to be released, says CIA

The question remains: when?  It is, of course imperative that the WH releases the photo, not just to quell the questions but to also give all of us some closure for 9/11.  They cannot be that gruesome, we saw the photo's of Saddams sons, Uday and Qusay after their death in Iraq and no one threw up.  The death of bin-Laden is an important milestone for the world and we should not be deprived of seeing the lifeless face of our greatest enemy.

America will release photographs of Osama Bin Laden’s corpse, it was confirmed last night, as conspiracy theories that he was still alive gained ground.

President Barack Obama is reluctant to authorise the release of images of the terror leader’s body because it is bloodied and badly wounded, and a perceived lack of respect for the dead could spark a backlash.

But in the absence of any pictorial evidence that Bin Laden is dead, some have claimed that he was not killed at all.

On Monday an obviously faked picture of his corpse spread round the world, giving conspiracy theorists new material to fuel their speculation.

The U.S. has pictures of Bin Laden’s body – reportedly with a bullet hole above an eye, and another to the heart – and video of both the raid on his bolthole in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad and his burial at sea.

Last night CIA director Leon Panetta said that ‘ultimately’ a photograph of Bin Laden’s corpse will be released.

Speaking on NBC Nightly News, he said: ‘The government obviously has been talking about how best to do this, but I don’t think there was any question that ultimately a photograph would be presented to the public.

‘Obviously I’ve seen those photographs. We’ve analysed them and there’s no question that it’s Bin Laden.

‘I think there’s no question that there were concerns that had to be debated about the impact these photos would have.

‘But the bottom line is that we got Bin Laden and I think we have to reveal to the rest of the world the fact that we were able to get him and kill him.’

Earlier White House spokesman Jay Carney confirmed that the photo of Bin Laden’s corpse was ‘gruesome’ and that ‘it could be inflammatory’ if released.

Inflammatory to whom?  Oh wait, I think I know.  Could it be Islam?  Is there a chance the WH is worried that Muslims might "backlash" against the release of the photos?

Bin Laden death will not affect al-Qaeda: Egypt Jihad leader
A founding member of Egypt's Islamic Jihad and friend of Al-Qaeda's new chief Ayman Al-Zawahiri told AFP Tuesday that Osama bin Laden's death will not affect the organisation and pleaded against revenge attacks.


Aboud al-Zumur, who was in jail with Zawahiri after the assassination of Egyptian president Anwar Sadat in 1981, said bin Laden was a "martyr" whose death at the hands of US special forces in Pakistan "will solve nothing."

"Al-Qaeda is not a person, it is an institution," said Zumur, who was freed from prison after a popular revolt ousted president Hosni Mubarak in February.

"Solving the problem entails withdrawing from occupied territories and a balance in US policy towards Palestine."

Zumur said the mass protests that toppled the regimes in both Tunisia and Egypt had sapped support for militant groups because they showed there was another way to confront tyrants.

"They have created a new mechanism to hold regimes accountable," he said. "This has lessened the support and importance of armed struggle."

Speaking in Cairo, Zumur pleaded with bin Laden's sympathisers not to take revenge for the jihadist leader's assassination.

"I say to them, be patient. Don't seek revenge. If you attack tourists or embassies, you will be attacking innocents."

The US State Department issued a warning to its citizens abroad after bin Laden's death.

Zumur said that Zawahiri, the 59-year-old surgeon and former Islamic Jihad member who has long been considered the real mastermind in Al-Qaeda's war against the United States and Arab regimes, was a "good-hearted" man. 

And Jeffery Dahmer was a "little hungry".

A favorite tactic of jihadists and Islamists is to blame the victim for the beating.  As we have seen over and over again, Islam tells us to behave, then acts as if that behavior caused them angst, to which the beatings begin.  Projecting their own behavior on others, especially their enemies, enables them to escape the responsibilities of their actions and continue with their self-victimization.

THE radical Islamist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir says the worst terrorists are not Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda but the United States and its allies.

No mention, as a balance(if there could actually be one) of the approximately 270 million murdered since 620AD by Islam.  We are supposed to cry crocodile tears over a numerical imbalance of over 1,000,000 to one...not gonna happen.

"This terror continues unabated as unmanned drones kill innocent people in Pakistan, and as bombs rain down on mothers, fathers and children in Afghanistan," Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia said.

It said bin Laden had been resisting the aggression of Western countries against the Muslim world, their support for dictators and their "many crimes" against the people of Palestine.

Islam did not condone the targeting of innocent people but it did afford everyone the right to resist unjust aggression, the statement said.

Unjust agression in Islamic doctrine amounts to anything which inhibits the spread of sharia and the Qur'an.

"Western governments, on the other hand, employ clear double standards in the pursuit of economic and political interests."

Australian politicians should be honest instead of claiming superficial victories, Hizb ut-Tahrir said.

"The reality is that the 'War on Terror' has been a resounding failure, with trillions of dollars spent, thousands of soldiers dead, hundreds and thousands of innocent people killed, and the world being no safer as a result."

They said it.

Whoever wishes this to be the end of jihad or a means to weaken the organization, I say to him: Wait a little!"

As the MSM tells us, the death of bin-Laden means the end of jihad and Al-Qaeda.  We should rejoice at the end of the war on "terror" and the beginning of an era of peace and harmony between religions.

Islamists vow bin Laden death will not mute Jihad call 

 

(Reuters) - Members of militant Islamist forums vowed on Monday to avenge the U.S. killing of Osama bin Laden, while others prayed the news was not true.
President Barack Obama announced U.S. forces had killed bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan after a nearly 10-year hunt for the mastermind of the September 11 attacks.

"Oh God, please make this news not true... God curse you Obama," said one message on an Arabic language forum. "Oh Americans... it is still legal for us to cut your necks."

Some forums members urged others not to believe news of the death until it was confirmed online by militant news sources.

"The source of news that we trust is that which comes from the mujahideen (holy warrior)," a message on Ansar forum said. "Be patient and don't spread rumors...we've asked this repeatedly, so please do not write anything on the subject."

Hours later, several of the threads discussing bin Laden's death had been shutdown.
But 'Asad al-Jihad 2', labeled a "prominent member of the jihadist internet community" by the monitoring group SITE, acknowledged the leader's death and vowed revenge.

"The whole world hangs on the death of one man, and if all his enemies were killed their effect would not be the same as his," SITE quoted him as saying on the Shumukh al-Islam forum.

"We will take our revenge on behalf of the Islamic Ummah for the death of the Sheikh of Islam ... Whoever wishes this to be the end of jihad or a means to weaken the organization, I say to him: Wait a little!"

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump: “I'm very happy to hear these reports of Mr. Laden's supposed 'death.' Pakistani's celebrate bin-Laden in Quetta

To millions of Muslims, bin-Laden is more than a hero, he is the source of jihad inspiration and fervor.  His death, at the hands of the Crusader American elevates his status, and Muslims will celebrate his passing as one would the passing of a King in Europe or a President in America.

Hundreds join Quetta rally to honour bin Laden

QUETTA: Hundreds took to the streets of Quetta on Monday to pay homage to Osama bin Laden, chanting death to America and setting fire to a US flag, witnesses and organisers said.

Angry participants belonging to a religious party in Quetta, the capital of southwestern province Baluchistan, were led by federal lawmaker Maulawi Asmatullah. They also torched a US flag before dispersing peacefully.

It was the first rally in Pakistan after the United States announced that bin Laden had been killed in an overnight commando mission in Pakistan.

Organisers said between 1,000 and 1,200 people attended the rally, but witnesses put the figure closer to 800.

“Bin Laden was the hero of the Muslim world and after his martyrdom he has won the title of great mujahed (Muslim fighter),” Asmatullah said.

Rage over bin-Laden's death directed at Mennonites...wait, what?

Oh those pesky Mennonites, they just cannot keep their hands out of others business.  How dare they kill one of Islam's fearless leaders.  No wonder Muslims are upset.

Christians are an “easy target” for reprisal after Bin Laden’s death, says Mgr Saldanha
Islamabad (AsiaNews) – Christian institutions, schools and organisations in Pakistan have closed down today for fear of attacks. Many fear that the operation by US Special Forces that led to the death of Osama Bin Laden could spark a negative reaction by Muslims against the religious minority. Mgr Lawrence John Saldanha, archbishop emeritus of Lahore, calls for greater protection for Christians, an “easy target” for possible reprisal. Meanwhile, a number of Islamic fundamentalism groups have issued statements, disputing claims that the al Qaeda leader was killed. In Pakistan’s civil society, anger and happiness are the prevailing emotions. For their part, the government and president of Pakistan are preparing to issue a “balanced” statement to avoid stoking tensions.

According to early reports, Bin Laden died after being shot in the head. Four other people were killed in the gunfire. US Special Forces are believed to be holding the body, but a US official said the body was buried at sea “according to Muslim customs”.

Pictures released of the dead Bin Laden have been met by scepticism with many internet sites saying that are fake.

They are fake, do not believe anyone telling you they are real.  There are no official photo's released yet.

Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities denied any involvement with the Americans in the operation.

In a statement, extremist group Pakistan Tehrik-e-Taliban dismissed the operation as a sham, saying that as far as they are concerned Osama is still alive.

Retired Pakistan Inter Service Intelligence chief Hameed Gul also cast doubts about the operation and US claims, saying that in the footage shown on TV channels Bin Laden looks too young. However, “Obama is a smart person” and “this is a great start to his election campaign”.

Analysts are divided. Some believe that al-Qaeda will be weakened by Bin Laden’s death. Others fear an escalation in violation in response to the loss.

In Pakistan, local sources are saying that US and Western Embassy officials in Islamabad are examining the opportunity of closing down their respective diplomatic missions as a preventive measure.

Many Christian institutions, schools and organisation have closed for the day fearing more violence in the wake of episodes that followed the burning of a Qur‘an in Florida a few weeks ago.

Keep the jihad fires burning, no need top stop the madness, there is always another Terry Jones episode waiting in the wings.

Burial at sea or sleeping with the fishes, take your pick

Interesting that the decision to send bin-Laden to the briny deep was made by the US military and the WH instead of his family in Saudi Arabia.  To drop him in the ocean is against Islamic doctrine, Muslims must be buried on land in a grave.  By letting the sea creatures feast on his bones we have effectively removed any chance for jihadists and Islamists to gather at his graveside and use it as a focal point for the expanding, global jihad.

The Navy and the WH did a good thing, to be sure.

Religious rites were conducted on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier at about 1:10 a.m. Monday in the Persian Gulf.

In accordance with Islamic practice, bin Laden was washed and wrapped in a white sheet before buried at sea at 2 a.m. local time, senior U.S. military and intelligence officials said.

We can argue whether bin-Laden deserved the Islamic rituals for death, I don't care.  He is dead, and no amount of ritualistic nachinations changes that fact. 

Bin Laden, who resisted capture, was "living rather comfortably" in the compound, an official told Fox News.

Senior administration officials said the DNA testing alone offered near 100 percent certainty that bin Laden was among those shot dead. Photo analysis by the CIA, confirmation by a woman believed to be bin Laden's wife on site, and matching physical features like bin Laden's height all helped confirmed the identification.

Still, it was unclear if the world would ever get visual proof.

Eventually we will see the pictures.  They cannot stay hidden for long, and Obama needs to release them so we can all add some closure to 9/11.

An inside look at the raid that killed bin Laden 

The biggest operation in US military history began with the sound of military choppers flying over the skies of Pakistan. By the time the fight was over some 40 minutes later, Osama bin Laden -- man behind the worst terrorist attack on US soil -- was dead from an American bullet to his left eye.
 

...Nestled in an affluent neighborhood, the compound was surrounded by 18-foot walls and barbed wire. Two security gates guarded the only way in. A third-floor terrace was shielded by a seven-foot privacy wall.

As if that would stop Navy SEALs.  They train for that exact type of scenario.

There are reasons we kept mum on this operation, not the least of which was the very real chance that Pakistan ISI would foil our attempts again by giving bin-Laden a heads-up we were coming.  Not this time, and look at the results.

Pak kept in dark till last minute on Osama operation 

Washington Pakistan was kept in dark till the operation to kill Osama bin Laden was successfully accomplished inside the country close to the capital Islamabad, the US officials said.
 
After the four helicopters carrying US special forces swooped down and killed the world's most wanted man as he was holed up in a two-storey(sic) house, just 100 yards from the Pakistani Military Academy, US President Barack Obama called his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari to inform him of the mission accomplished.
 
"We are very concerned that he (bin Laden) was inside Pakistan, but this is something that we're going to continue to work with the Pakistani government on," a senior administration official said.
 
The Obama Administration shared intelligence on the bin Laden operation with no other country, including Pakistan, sources said. "That was for one reason and one reason alone: We believed it was essential to the security of the operation and our personnel... that only a very small group of people inside our own government knew of the operation," an official said.
 
Shortly after the raid, US officials contacted senior Pakistani leaders to brief them on the intent and the results of the raid.
 
But even now, the US officials have not made it clear from where the helicopters and special forces undertook the operation.
 
The United States has also contacted a number of its close allies and partners throughout the world.

Giving reasons for not contacting Islamabad, officials said since 9/11, the US has made it clear to Pakistan that the US would pursue bin Laden wherever he might be.

Pakistan angered by death of bin-Laden

Because we violated their "sovereignty" by going to the house and taking bin-Laden out without asking permission.  Well, if we had asked, would we have been able to get him?  It is known now that the ISI was protecting bin-Laden, and warning him whenever American forces got too close, so it is safe to assume it would have been a bad idea to tell the Pakistani's.

Notice too, that there is no thank you for getting bin-Laden, only condemnation for the act itself.  Telling as to where Pakistan and Musharraf stands as to our friendship.

Musharraf: Bin Laden mission violated Pakistan 

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Monday accused the U.S. of violating his country’s sovereignty by sending in special forces to kill Osama bin Laden.

“American troops coming across the border and taking action in one of our towns, that is Abbottabad, is not acceptable to the people of Pakistan. It is a violation of our sovereignty,” Mr. Musharraf told CNN-IBN, an Indian news channel.

He added that it would have been “far better if Pakistani Special Services Group had operated and conducted the mission. To that extent, the modality of handling it and executing the operation is not correct.”

Bin Laden was killed Sunday in a firefight with Navy SEALs in a million-dollar, fortified compound located in an affluent neighborhood in Abbottabad, about a two-hour drive from Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

Senior U.S. officials, who briefed reporters early Monday, said the Obama administration did not inform Pakistani authorities of the mission until after it was concluded.

Mr. Musharraf said the “lack of trust is very bad.”

“If two organizations [are] conducting an operation against a common enemy, there has to be trust and confidence in each other,” he said.

Pakistan is “totally on board” on fighting al Qaeda and Taliban.

Mr. Musharraf said it was possible that some local Pakistanis had colluded with bin Laden.

“A battle has been won, but the war continues,” Mr. Musharraf said, warning that “al Qaeda is still there.”

Pakistan hiding bin-Laden for a decade

Pakistan intelligence, or the ISI has been complicit in abetting Al-Qaeda. helping the Taliban and generally being a facilitator for jihadists and Islamists.  Playing a double game by taking our money(jizya) to ostensibly fight "terrorism" while at the same time aiding those same "terrorists", Pakistan has been balancing the good against the bad.  Now, the gloves are off, and their role in the deception for, and furthering of world-wide jihad will be exposed.

If not for the ISI, we would have probably caught bin-Laden years ago.

WikiLeaks: Osama bin Laden 'protected' by Pakistani security

Pakistani security forces allegedly helped Osama bin Laden evade American troops for almost 10 years, according to secret US government files.  

American diplomats were told that one of the key reasons why they had failed to find bin Laden was that Pakistan’s security services tipped him off whenever US troops approached.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISID) also allegedly smuggled al-Qaeda terrorists through airport security to help them avoid capture and sent a unit into Afghanistan to fight alongside the Taliban.

The claims, made in leaked US government files obtained by Wikileaks, will add to questions over Pakistan’s capacity to fight al-Qaeda.

Last year, David Cameron caused a diplomatic furore when he told Pakistan that it could not “look both ways” on terrorism. The Pakistani government issued a strongly-worded rebuttal.

And what information, exactly did Cameron have which would have him make that statement? 

But bin Laden was eventually tracked down and killed in compound located just a few hundred yards from Pakistan’s prestigious military academy in Abbotabad.

The raid by elite US troops was kept secret from the government of Pakistan. Only a tight circle within the Obama Administration knew of the operation.

In December 2009, the government of Tajikistan warned the United States that efforts to catch bin Laden were being thwarted by corrupt Pakistani spies.

According to a US diplomatic dispatch, General Abdullo Sadulloevich Nazarov, a senior Tajik counterterrorism official, told the Americans that “many” inside Pakistan knew where bin Laden was.

The document stated: “In Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden wasn’t an invisible man, and many knew his whereabouts in North Waziristan, but whenever security forces attempted a raid on his hideouts, the enemy received warning of their approach from sources in the security forces.”

Osama bin-Laden is dead

Only a few hours ago, bin-Laden, one of his sons and two close companions were killed by American Navy Seals.  The news is coming in way too fast to post it as it appears, you can catch the breaking news on virtually any news service, I will post all the updated news and information Monday, May 2 as events unfold. 

There are, of course many other stories concerning Islam and Muslims, I will get to those as well.  Read and listen to all you can, this is an epochal moment in history and will affect all of us for the near future.

We are witnessing a moment in time which will have consequences far beyond what any of us, at this moment think or believe, it is important to try and get as much information as possible, sort out the chaff and make decisions based in sound ideas and culpable facts. 

Osama bin-Laden is dead.  The jihad rolls on.
