Like the Buddha statues at Bam-i-yan, the Green Church in Tikrit is gone, a victim of Islamic hatred of anything non-Islamic. This church was a World Heritage site, now it is a World Heritage site of rubble.

ISIS blow up Tikrit's Green Church
(ANSA) - Cairo, September 25 - Islamic State (ISIS) militants have "completely destroyed" the iconic Green Church in the northern Iraqi city of Tikrit, the MENA news agency reported Thursday, citing Iraqi security sources.
The Islamists packed the church - one of the oldest Christian monuments in the Middle East - with explosives before detonating them.
