Hamas fires rocket at school bus because there were no military targets available

The cowardice of Hamas in targeting a school bus goes beyond any rational.  These are bloodthirsty monsters out to destroy Israel, terrorize the population with the goal of eliminating Jews from not just Israel, but the earth.  Genocide is their game, and no amount of hand-wringing will cloud their hatred and Islamist program.

Hamas is evil.

Boy, 16, badly hurt after Hamas fires missle at school bus
Many children had just got off when vehicle was struck with anti-tank missile in Negev; Palestinians fire 45 mortars, rockets after attack.

An anti-tank missile fired from the Gaza Strip struck a school bus in the Negev on Thursday, critically wounding a 16-year-old boy and setting off a fierce round of clashes between the IDF and Palestinian terrorists.

The missile, which was fired by Hamas, hit the bus moments after most of the children got off, while it was driving near Kibbutz Saad, about 2.5 km. from Gaza. Only two people were on the bus when it was hit – the driver, who was lightly injured, and the boy, who was en route to visit his grandmother. The bus driver is a friend of the family.
Immediately after the attack, Palestinians fired more than 45 mortar shells and Katyusha and Kassam rockets into Israel.

One of the Grad-model Katyusha rockets was intercepted by the Iron Dome counter-rocket defense system deployed south of Ashkelon, proving its capabilities in combat for the first time.

IDF officers said that the attack – the first time an anti-tank missile was fired deep into Israel, and, officers believe, deliberately targeting the school bus – “crossed all red lines” and that Hamas would pay dearly.
Let's hope so, and the sooner the better.

The threat to Rep. King and the anti-semitic letter

A dew posts before this one there is a post from an obviously disturbed individual and at the time I had no idea from where this vitriol came from.  Now I know, and so will you.  It turns out it was in the package  of bloody pigs feet sent to Rep. King, and which CAIR claimed as an "anti-Muslim attack".

WASHINGTON -- The threatening package containing a bloody pig's foot sent to Rep. Pete King (R-LI) was as much a racist assault as it was religious hate mail, The Post has learned.

The rambling note accompanying the porcine parcel proclaimed that "white bitches" would soon be naming their sons Mohammed, said a Capitol Hill source.

The note contained anti-Semitic slurs, called the pig's foot a "Jew foot," taunted "kiss my black Muslim ass," and said King -- who is Catholic -- was targeted because of hearings he held on the radicalization of Muslim Americans.

King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, received numerous threats over the hearings and has been getting additional security.

The congressman's office would not comment on the threatening package other than to say it was cooperating with the investigation and referred questions to the Capitol Police.

US Postal Service screeners intercepted the package Monday at a postal facility before it reached King's office at the Capitol.

CAIR national leader praises Gaddafi in letter

Nihad Awad is the point man for jihadists and Islamists through CAIR, of which he is the national director.  It should be obvious that when he speaks in tones like this he is showing the true colors of CAIR, himself and Islam.  It is obvious only to those of us who understand the very real danger Awad poses, not to those who apologise for Islam or denigrate the US in favor of Muslims.

Awad is a threat to the very freedoms he claims to believe in and support.

Lawmaker Criticizes Muslim Group Director's 2009 Fundraising Letter to Qaddafi

A letter from the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, and president of an offshoot group, Muslim Peace Foundation to Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi has added fuel to criticisms of the controversial group and what its critics say are some dubious fundraising tactics.

In the letter, obtained by Fox News and dated Sept. 23, 2009, CAIR executive director Nihad Awad asks Qaddafi for funding for his new project called the Muslim Peace Foundation. Qaddafi was in New York attending the United Nations General Assembly.

An alleged American askes a known enemy and possible Islamist for money to fund a "peace project". 

Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., cited the letter Wednesday at a House Appropriations sub-committee hearing, during which Wolf asked FBI Director Robert Mueller about the FBI's relationship with CAIR. Mueller replied there "is no formal relationship with CAIR."

A translation of the letter, written originally in Arabic, says in part, "I am pleased to send to Your Excellency in my name most solemn assurances of thanks and appreciation for the efforts you exert in the service of Islam, Muslims and all mankind through your initiative to teach Islam, spread the culture of Islam, and solve disputes, for which you are known internationally."

Is this all CAIR is capable of, whining and crying over anything which calls to question Islam as a religion of peace?  I would appear so, as yet another inquiry into Islam is protested by that bastion of Muslim civic pride, and an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.

CAIR Comes Out Against Ball's 9/11 Hearing 

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has announced that they are planning a protest tomorrow in advance of State Senator Greg Ball's hearing on  "New York's Public Protection Ten Years After September 11."

The hearing has attracted some controversy due to the presence of Nonie Darwish, a human rights activist and writer who has said that Islam is "cruel, anti-women, anti-religious freedom and anti-personal freedom in general" and for including as a topic  "The Culture of Jihad and Shariah Law."

The planned rally will be on the steps of City Hall.

CAIR came out strongly against Rep. Peter King's congressional hearings on Muslim radicalization, but King brushed aside their attacks by frequently calling them an "unindicted co-conspirators" in a terrorist attack.

Well, no.  CAIR is an un-indicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land/ Hamas money laundering trial. Not a terrorist attack per se, but jihad nonetheless.

American Muslim Leader Issues Fatwa Against Democracy

It is not some obscure imam at a mosque in a small town, this fatwa comes from  Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA).  These are American lawyers and jurists who are calling for an end to democracy and the installation of Islam. 

Is there no shame in the Obama administration or the American Bar Association for this?  How is this not sedition and treason?

Between the Shura and Democracy 

Q: What is the difference between the Shura and democracy, and which is preferred? Are there any books which could benefit me on this topic? May Allah reward you well. 

A: In the name of Allah, the most merciful and gracious.
Praise be to Allah, and peace be upon him the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, companions, and those that follow him. The Shura comes from the rulings of the shari'a, and an entire surah of the Qur'an was sent down with this name. The difference between it and democracy is that the Shura does not exist (under Islam) except in the areas of permissible actions or legislative amnesty. For things which have been stipulated in the texts of Islam, the Ummah possesses no power except to acknowledge and obey, following the saying of the Most High:  "It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path" [Qur'an 33:36]. For example, it is not for the Shura to consider, "Should the noon prayer contain four or five bows?" Or, "Should we fast during the month of Ramadan, or should we replace it with the month of Shawwal?" Or, "Should we forbid wine or allow it?" Or, "Should we forbid adultery, or permit it if it's done by consensual agreement of those who have reached the legal age, and it's not done on the married couple's bed?" 

Al-Bukhari said in his Sahih:  "The Imams after the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) would consult the trustworthy scholars in things which were permissible, to take the best option. But if the Qur'an or the Sunnah was clear on the matter, they wouldn't transgress against it, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The reciters of the Qur'an would consult, whether old or young, and they were careful to adhere to the book of Almighty Allah." 

But democracy gives free reign to the authority of the Ummah, and puts no ceiling on it. The law is the expression of its will, and if the law says it, the conscience must be silent! A constitutionalist even said:  "We have departed from the divine right to rule for kings, and replaced it with the divine right to rule for parliaments!" The shari'a, on the other hand, differentiates between the source of the legal system and the source of the political authority. The source of the legal system is the shari'a, while the source of the political authority is the Ummah. Meanwhile democracy makes the Ummah the source of both. On my website there is a book named "Political Pluralism." If you review it, it will you benefit you in regards to this topic, Allah-willing. Allah Almighty is all-powerful, all-knowing.

UN head Ban Ki-Moon comdemns Pastor Jones and Sapp and follows the dhimmi path

Fair and impartial, the UN?  Hardly.  Ban Ki-Moon has jumped on the condemnation bandwagon to make sure we all know how evil Jones and Sapp are.  His non-support of free speech is telling as to which way he is willing to lean in appeasing Islam.  The UN is no group I am a fan of and if they disappeared tomorrow there would be no tear shed.

The dhimmitude in the UN is becoming pervasive.

Ban Ki-moon condemns desecration of Quran

UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned recent act of desecration of the Quran in Florida, stressing that “such actions cannot be condoned by any religion.”

In a meeting with a group of ambassadors representing Member States of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to the United Nations, Ban said: “The recent burning of a copy of the Quran in the United States and similar actions anywhere else contradict the efforts of the United Nations to promote tolerance, intercultural understanding and mutual respect between cultures and religions.”

Veiled threat of censorship alert.

The Secretary General termed the despicable act of burning of Islam’s  Book as unacceptable and said he supported the UN High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations, Jorge Sampaio, who noted in a statement on Sunday that the “desecration of the Qoran as of any  text should be vehemently repudiated.”

How many more attacks against religion vis-a-vie Islam against Christian have happened recently which the UN has not condemned as vocally as the Qur'an burning?

The burning of the Quran sparked widespread protests in Afghanistan in recent days, and resulted in the killing of three UN staff members and four Nepalese guards at the UN compound in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Friday.

The Secretary-General thanked the ambassadors for their condemnation of and condolences for the attack on UN staff in Afghanistan. He said such an attack cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Quran Burning Protests Continue in Kabul

Protests erupted for a fifth day in Afghanistan over the burning of a Quran by a U.S. pastor.

Hundreds of people rallied at Kabul University in the capital Tuesday, chanting "death to America" and calling for the pastor who burned the Muslim holy book to be put on trial.

Afghan police in riot gear guarded the area as the peaceful protest took place.

It came one day after hundreds of stone-throwing demonstrators scuffled with police during a rally in the provincial capital of eastern Laghman province.

The protests stem from the March 20 burning of a Quran by the head of a small fundamentalist church in the southern U.S. state of Florida.

Womens rights under Islam, what womens rights under Islam?!

A little rhetorical trick designed to get a laugh and a sigh.  When we talk about how women are subjugated under Islam, the many restrictions on them and their behavior and the method of brutality shown towards women who transgress the rules we are called the usual names.  When the same thing happens in an Islamic area there is nary a peep.  Where is the outcry from Western liberals and women's rights groups on this obvious and outrageous act perpetuated against women by Islam?  This is happening in India, an ally and a friend, yet the appeals for equality and tolerance from the same people who demonize those who say the same thing have not been heard.

Islamists protest women's rights in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (CNN) -- Dozens of people were injured in Bangladesh as riot police clashed with thousands of Islamists protesting women's rights, authorities and witnesses said.

The protesters damaged buses and cars Monday, setting several on fire, while police used clubs and tear gas to disperse the Islamists, who were wearing skullcaps and burial cloths.

"We'll die for the cause of Islam, but (will) not allow the government to disrespect (the) Quran," one protester shouted during the demonstration near the national mosque in downtown Dhaka.

Will they start killing randomly, ala Afghanistan because of the perceived disrespect?

The government recently announced its National Women Development Policy 2011, which ensures women expanded rights in property and education. The protesters said the policy is against the Quran.

Fazlul Huq Amini, leader of a coalition of Islamic groups called the Islami Oikya Jote, asked his followers to take to the streets to protest the policy. Amini said the Quran defines how much property a woman should inherit, and the government should not allow women more than that.

That's sura 9 verse 11 where a woman gets half that of a man in inheritance.

"It's against the principle of the Quran, and we'll resist it at any cost," Amini said.

Two Killed in Explosion in Southern Beirut

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Two people were killed when a man accidentally detonated a bomb in his southern Beirut home on Tuesday, a security source said. The source said Ali Jaber, a member of the Shi'ite party Amal, and his wife were killed in the explosion in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital. Their son was also wounded.

An army source confirmed the man and his wife were killed, but gave no more details.

The Terry Jones show on O'Reilly

I say the Terry Jones Show because as much as I respect Bill, in this instance Pastor Jones was in charge.  When O'Reilly accused Jones of being insane and of having blood on his hands I wondered how he could see this in that context.  Jones responds with the most accurate and direct rejoinder I have heard in a long time.  "...The responsibility should be laid upon the people who committed the acts" he said, putting any doubt about his views to rest.  I agree with Pastor Jones and Sapp in that it is Muslims responsibility to act like a rational human and not kill because someone torched the Qur'an.  Insult or no, the blame laid at the Pastors feet is undeserved and another attempt by Islam to quash any discussion of Islamic doctrine or the behavior which it aggravates.

O'Reilly, you should be taken to task for saying nothing in the Pastors defense for his right to free speech.  What he and Sapp did is disgusting, people should read the Qur'an, not burn it.  Yet the absence of support for his right to do so is what is most disturbing.  Where is your voice demanding Muslims quit being babies and cowboy up, and at the same time upholding Jones and Sapps right to burn a book, Mr. O'Reilly?

Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones defends himself against Bill O'Reilly who called him 'insane'

Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones struck back at Bill O'Reilly Tuesday after the conservative Fox News host called him an "insane Christian" who had "blood on his hands."

The fringe Florida pastor said he bears no responsibility for the 24 deaths resulting from Afghan protests sparked by his March 20 desecration of the Islamic holy book in Florida.

"We reject Mr. O'Reilly's statement. The responsibility should be laid upon the people who committed the acts," he said in a statement to the Daily News.

What a novel idea: make those who commit the heinous act be responsible and pay for their crimes.  Oh wait, this is Islam we're talking about.

"The recent events are an example of the violent nature of Islam. Just because a book was burned, they used this as an excuse to retaliate. We should not in any way condone their actions," he said.

Oh but we do.

Jones' five-hour mock trial and burning of the sacred text touched off an eruption of anti-American sentiment already inflamed by recent civilian casualties in war-torn Afghanistan.

So lets use as a pretext/excuse the war in Afghanistan for our rage.

A "Juan Williams Equivalent" in France

There is always the chance that when one speaks honestly about Islam, whether factaully or through opinion that they will face the inexorable name-calling and personal attacks.  Juan Williams felt first-hand the icy hand of Islamic supression of free speech when he was fired from NPR for voicing an opinion in which he said he was nucomfortable in airports around people in "Muslim garb".  He exercised his right to speak freely and was condemned and faced with loss of income.  If that is not censorship, nothing is.

Now we have, in France the same scenario playing out, only this time it is a politician.  He states that Islam is a problem and as such is excoriated and faced with loss of his job and public censure.  Another victim of Islamic doctrine falls to the sword of Islam.

Claude Gueant, France's interior minister is facing legal action after declaring that the "growing" number of Muslims in France posed "a problem". 

"It's true that the increase in the number of faithful in (Islam), a certain number of behaviours, poses a problem," he said on Monday.

Singling out the "problem" of Muslims praying in the street, he said that France's secular law dates from 1905 when there were "very few Muslims", while their number today is between five and six million. The anti-racism group SOS Racisme said it would be launching legal action against Mr Gueant for inciting racial hatred.

Now Algeria is worried about Al-Qaeda in Libya

While the US tries to find some semblance of Al-Qaeda in Libya, neighboring Algeria knows what they could be in for, and are calling for open and honest recognition of the problem Al-Qaeda poses.  The goal of AQIM, or Al-Qaeda in the Mahgreb is the conquest and rule of Islam over all of North Africa, not just Libya and Egypt.  There is more fom Al-Qaeda on the horizon but the question is: will we recognize it as the threat it is?

Algiers -- Algeria is concerned by a noticeably increased Al-Qaeda presence in neighboring Libya and worried militant groups could lay their hands on weapons circulating in the country, a senior official said on Tuesday.

Abdelkader Messahel, Algerian Deputy Foreign Minister said he was worried "particularly through the increasingly noticeable presence of AQIM (Al-Qaeda's north African wing) in Libya and the increasingly noticeable circulation of weapons which can be exploited by terrorist groups."

Addressing a news conference after meeting Britain's Foreign Office minister Alistair Burt, Messahel said a prolonged conflict in Libya risked destabilizing the Sahel region.

"Everybody has noticed, and we are not the only ones, that there are a lot of weapons circulating in Libya and this situation, if it persists, will aggravate the situation in the Sahel," he said.

Bloody pig's foot sent to Rep. Peter King

Authorities intercepted a parcel this morning addressed to Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) containing a bloody pig's foot and a derogatory message, a source has confirmed to CBS News.


The parcel was intercepted at the Congressional mail facility in Landover, Maryland, where mail sent to lawmakers is screened for security risks.


The U.S. Capitol Police and U.S. Postal Service confirmed that there is an open investigation, though would not confirm the details of what was contained in the parcel because the investigation is ongoing. King's office, which did not see the parcel, referred all questions to the Capitol Police.


According to the Postal Service, a hazardous materials response team tested the parcel and found it to be non-hazardous.

As well as missing cole slaw and BBQ sauce.

To promote Islam is to save Islam

A conundrum, wrapped in an enigma, surrounded by a mystery, obscured by clouds and signifying nothing.  It makes no sense to promote an ideology which is, at it's best is only tolerant of other belief systems, as the panacea for fixing the ideology which is intolerant of other religions.  Excuse me, but my hair hurts now trying to figure this one out.  Do we really believe that, as Islam is a religion of peace from our perspective, we can teach this concept in lieu of the truth Islam tells us about what it means to be Muslim?

Beheading Ourselves Over Islam

War On Terror: What can the U.S. do to quell the violent spasms of Islam? Promote Islam, naturally. At least that's the thinking of this administration. It's now official foreign policy.

President Obama's top Muslim envoy has been overseas encouraging devotion to Islam, including in terror hot spots like Afghanistan. In fact, Rashad Hussain, U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, just returned from Afghanistan, where he told locals the antidote to Islamic violence "is Islam itself."

"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," Hussain said during a speech in Kabul.

Afghans responded to his message by slaughtering a dozen innocent United Nations workers in the name of Islam.

Stirred by mosque sermons, a mob of thousands overran a U.N. compound in northern Afghanistan following Friday prayers. They sawed off the heads of two guards before killing the others, including Norwegian and Swedish nationals, inside. It was Afghanistan's deadliest attack on U.N. personnel.

The worshippers also burned American flags and effigies of Obama — all to defend the honor of a single, paperback copy of a Quran torched by a quack U.S. preacher thousands of miles away in Florida. So far, more than 20 have died in the rioting.

Islamic law calls for vengeance against anybody who insults Islam, its prophet or its holy book. Islamic law is enshrined in the post-Taliban Afghan constitution. Yet Rashad, a devout Muslim, says the Muslim faith is "key" to the administration's strategy to turn Muslims away from violence.

"We see that as one of the key elements of a strategy to address this type of violence," he said. By "we," he means the Obama administration. So it's now official policy to try to douse the Islamic fire of jihad by pouring more fuel on it. This is breathtaking.

It's also at odds with what the co-chairmen of the 9/11 Commission — including Democrat lion Lee Hamilton — recently recommended in their follow-up report on homegrown terror, "Assessing the Terrorist Threat: A Report of the Bipartisan Policy Center's National Security Preparedness Group."

It found that Islam was catalyzing terrorists abroad and inside America's Muslim community. And it scolded U.S. leaders for pretending otherwise. Still, Hussain insists: "When it comes to the problem of violent extremism, Islam is not the problem."

First he was a possible front-runner during the opening salvo of the Egyptian revolution.  Then he had shoes and stones thrown at him because he is viewed as a pawn of the Zionists and the US.  Now he is trying to make a comeback, appealing to the jihadists sense of carnage against Israel while supporting their nationalism regarding the refugees.

In interview with Arab newspaper, former IAEA chief says if elected as Egypt's next president he will open Rafah crossing in case of an Israeli attack. 

Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei, who had previously announced his intetions to run for the presidency of Egypt, said Monday that “if Israel attacked Gaza we would declare war against the Zionist regime."

In an interview with the Al-Watan newspaper he said: "In case of any future Israeli attack on Gaza - as the next president of Egypt – I will open the Rafah border crossing and will consider different ways to implement the joint Arab defense agreement." 


He also stated that "Israel controls Palestinian soil" adding that that "there has been no tangible breakthrough in reconciliation process because of the imbalance of power in the region - a situation that creates a kind of one way peace."


Discussing his agenda for Egypt, ElBaradei said that distribution of income between the different classes in Egypt would be his most important priority if he were to win the upcoming elections.

Canadian jihad: on track and on time

The Great White North is slowly turning the green of Islam by way of creeping sharia.  Polygamy is illegal yet wives of Muslim collect welfare benefits.  Taking advantage of Western welfare systems is but one way for Islamists and jihadists to ingratiate themselves into the body social, with the goal of working towards the political organs.

Immigration and birth-rates continue unabated among the Muslim population, money is thrown at the burgeoning non-Canadian population to try and get them to assimilate and progress can be measured in millimeters.

Still we try, believing in the goodness of the human animal and that all are equal, if we just give them a chance.

Islamists on Welfare: Paid to Plot the West’s Demise

Their parasitical behavior obliges governments, through taxpayers, to subsidize their adopted country’s own destruction.

 

In 2008, the Toronto Sun reported that “hundreds of [Greater Toronto Area] Muslim men in polygamous marriages — some with a harem of wives — are receiving welfare and social benefits for each of their spouses, thanks to the city and province, Muslim leaders say.”

“Polygamy is a regular part of life for many Muslims,” Canadian Society of Muslims president Mumtaz Ali declared bluntly. “Ontario recognizes religious marriages for Muslims and others.”

That is a lie.  Canada does not sanction polygamy.

Government officials quickly denied the Muslim leader’s claims about immigration law and social benefits regulations. Only one public servant seemed sufficiently concerned. “This is wrong,” said city councilor Rob Ford. “They should put a stop to this immediately.”

Instead, welfare abuse by Muslims appears to have metastasized across the Western world. Almost three years later, news stories about radical Muslims — often immigrants — engaged in social benefits scams emerge regularly from Europe, Canada, and Australia. Even when they are not involved in fraud, Muslims frequently are overrepresented on welfare rolls, compared with other communities. The statistics from around the globe are jaw-dropping, especially in economically uncertain times.

According to one 2007 source, immigration, of which Muslims comprise a significant part, “costs Sweden at least 40 to 50 billion Swedish kroner [approximately $7 billion] every year … and has greatly contributed to bringing the Swedish welfare state to the brink of bankruptcy.” Yet two years earlier, the country’s finance minister declared counterintuitively that “more immigrants should be allowed into Sweden in order to safeguard the welfare system.”

One Iranian immigrant to Sweden expressed astonishment at his new country’s policies: “In Sweden my family encountered a political system that seemed very strange. The interpreter told us that Sweden is a country where the government will put a check into your mailbox each month if you don’t work. She explained that there was no reason to get a job.”

The statistics from Norway are even more shocking. According to a University of Oslo study, “non-Western immigrants” are ten times as likely to be on social assistance as native Norwegians.

In Germany, Muslims are four times as likely to be receiving welfare as non-Muslims. However, unlike his counterpart in Sweden, Berlin’s former finance senator Thilo Sarrazin is speaking out against the benefits system and has penned a bestselling book condemning the nation’s immigration policies. Sarrazin stated while in office that welfare recipients could feed themselves on four Euros per day, adding that “losing weight is the least of their problems.”

Research by Daniel Pipes and Lars Hedegaard from 2002 reveals that mostly Muslim immigrants in Denmark “constitute five percent of the population but consume upwards of 40 percent of the welfare spending.” In that country, numerous “single” women who receive social assistance are really the wives of polygamous Muslim men.

Polygamy and benefits fraud go hand in hand across the continent. Last year in France, a polygamous Muslim and father of 17 children was charged with welfare fraud when authorities discovered that “two of his companions lived in Dubai for a year while continuing to receive welfare benefits worth 10,000 Euros.” The man did not exactly have a low profile, as he made news previously when one of his wives was fined for driving while wearing a niqab that restricted her vision.

In one instance, a member of the British government, which has been known to grant additional welfare benefits to cover a man’s additional wives, openly promoted welfare use and abuse among her Muslim constituents. Last December, deputy Labour Party leader Harriet Harman labeled Muslim immigrants who send a portion of their welfare payments to families back home “heroic.” She even “called for tax refunds to encourage more immigrants to follow suit.”

The new Iran-Egypt connection

In 1980, after the Iranian Revolution Egypt cut off diplomatic ties with Iran.  Also a part of that decision was made by Iran, as 1980 was when Egypt recognized Israel as a country which angered Iran.  Now that democracy is about to explode all over, both countries are going back to being buddy-buddy, all in the name of Islam.

Cairo ready to re-establish Iran diplomatic ties 

CAIRO - Cairo is ready to re-establish diplomatic ties with Tehran after a break of more than 30 years, Egypt's foreign minister said on Monday, signaling a shift in Iran policy since the fall of President Hosni Mubarak.

"The Egyptian and Iranian people deserve to have mutual relations reflecting their history and civilization," said Foreign Minister Nabil Elaraby after meeting Iranian official Mugtabi Amani.

"Egypt is open to all countries and the aim is to achieve common interests," Elaraby said, adding that Cairo welcomed "opening a new page with Iran."

It was the first publicly announced meeting between officials from both countries since Mubarak was toppled on Feb. 11, handing power to the army.

The march towards the Islamic State of Egypt continues apace and everyone notices, except us.  The young and idealistic protesters calling for democracy and a secular Egypt have been eclipsed, as I have pointed out, by Islamists and jihadists, mainly through the Muslim Brotherhood.  Now, as the press warms to the idea that Egypt is on a path to Islam, maybe we will read the memo.

Islamists in Egypt seek change through politics

It may have been a secular revolution that toppled President Hosni Mubarak, but religious groups — some with violent pasts — have been building grass-roots networks for years. Now ultraconservative and moderate groups feel their time has arrived.

Reporting from Alexandria, Egypt—

Nageh Ibrahim once spoke of slaying infidels and creating an Islamic state that would stretch from the Nile Delta to the vast deserts of Egypt's south. Today he lives in a high-rise with a view of the Mediterranean Sea and has the soothing voice of a man who could lead a 12-step program on rejecting radicalism.

Ibrahim's group, Gamaa al Islamiya, plotted notorious attacks, including the 1981 assassination of President Anwar Sadat and the massacre at an ancient Luxor temple that killed 62 people, mostly tourists, in 1997. He spent 24 years in jail reading the Koran and tempering the rage of his youth.

"We were young and we took extreme measures. But now we're old men and our time in prison has made us wiser," he said. "Al Qaeda and Islamic militancy have lost their glamour. Look at what has happened. The young saw that violence didn't bring change to Egypt, a peaceful revolution did."

Ibrahim is one of an increasing number of ultraconservative and moderate Islamists seeking a political voice in a new Egypt. Since the downfall in February of President Hosni Mubarak, who for three decades kept religion far from the center of power, the Islamist message is unshackled. The Muslim Brotherhood, the largest opposition party, expects a strong showing in September's parliamentary elections.

The secular reformers and twentysomething urbanites at the vanguard of the Jan. 25 revolution have found themselves eclipsed. They lack experience and grass-roots networks to compete with the Brotherhood and other religious groups that have quietly stoked their passions for this moment. In a sense, Mubarak's obsession with both co-opting and crushing Islamists instilled in them the discipline and organization that now propels their political agendas.

Hamas agrees with Goldstone rebuttal and will investigate it's own war crimes...wait, what?

You knew this was coming.  Hamas could not remain quiet on this, and as usual takes no responsibility for the deaths of innocents and stays the course in it's hatred of Jews and israel by saying the conclusions of the report still hold water.

Hamas: Goldstone report substance remains unchanged

(CNN) -- While the recent retraction of the most damning criticism against Israel's military offensive in Gaza came as a surprise to Hamas, the militant group says the substance of the controversial "Goldstone Report" hasn't changed.

The report, issued in September 2009 and authored by former South African jurist Richard Goldstone, found both Israel and Hamas likely committed war crimes and possible crimes against humanity during the conflict between December 27, 2008, and January 18, 2009. Israel launched the offensive against Gaza militants in response to ongoing firing of rockets against southern Israeli towns.

However, in a Washington Post op-ed column posted on the newspaper's website Friday, Goldstone said he would have reached different conclusions if the Israeli military had been more forthcoming and if he had known the results of subsequent investigations.

"If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document," wrote Richard Goldstone, a former South African jurist, in a Washington Post op-ed column Friday.

Still, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told CNN on Sunday that Hamas continues to support implementation of the Goldstone report as it was originally published and approved.

"Hamas (is) surprised by the position by Judge Goldstone that he expressed his retreat on parts of the international report and accepting the Israeli narrative...

Suprised that their obfuscation was revealed.
