Democracy in Libya, MB style

Another of the "Arab Spring" countries which our White House consistently claims is secular and on the road to democracy.  The problem with that is found in the groups currently forming a government.  The Muslim Brotherhood, despite our dear leaders insistence that it is a "moderate" party is, in fact as virulent and dangerous as any traditional Islamic doctrine found.  This fact will be ignored by the administration, as they want nothing more than to always believe that in every person, there is a Democrat screaming to get out.

Libya's Muslim Brotherhood sets up political party

TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libya's Muslim Brotherhood teamed up with other Islamists on Friday to establish a new political party that is set to be a leading player in the country's first elections since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in a NATO-backed uprising.

Islamist and secular parties will vie in June elections for seats in a national assembly that will draft a new constitution for the North African country.
Political analysts say Libya's Muslim Brotherhood is likely to emerge as the most organized political force and a leading player in the oil-exporting country where Islamists, like all dissidents, were harshly suppressed for 42 years.
Post-uprising elections have already brought Islamists into government in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco since October and they are likely to perform well in Libya, a socially conservative country where alcohol was already banned before the revolution.
All those countries which Obama told us were in the throes of democratic change seem to have miraculously morphed into Islamic states.  Will he have an explanation as to what went wrong?
Lamine Belhadj, who heads the committee that is working to set up the new party, told Reuters at a conference on Friday it would bring together Islamists of different stripes.
"This is the founding conference of a national, civil party with an Islamic frame of reference. It is being established by the Muslim Brotherhood and many independents who are not affiliated with any Islamic organizations," he said.
Belhadj, a senior official in the National Transitional Council (NTC) and a member of the commission responsible for organizing the elections, said the new party had yet to be named and its leaders had not been chosen as consultations were under way between the Brotherhood and other groups.
Abdullah Shamia, an economics professor and member of the Brotherhood since its days as an underground organization, said the new party would be independent. The Muslim Brotherhood, a broader religious, charitable and social movement, would continue its work separately from the political party.
Al Capone set up soup kitchens and bread lines while murdering his opponents.
ISLAMIC LAW?
The rise of Islamist parties at the ballot box has raised concerns among more secular Arabs that new governments will impose more religious restrictions on society or seek to make post-uprising constitutions comply with Islamic law, or sharia.
Libya's NTC has already indicated that the country will be run in accordance with sharia, though the exact place of sharia in the legal system will only be settled once a new constitution is written after elections.
Start out small with some level of sharia, then slowly, so no one will see, raise the heat.  The frog will never feel it until it's too late.
Belhadj said there was little disagreement on the issue of sharia in Libya, whose citizens are virtually all Sunni Muslims.
"All the parties cannot but adopt an Islamic frame of reference because the Libyan people are Muslim," he said.

Afghan cleric says there will be a "storm of fury" if those responsible for the Qur'an burnings are not tried under sharia law

This is getting tiring.  No amount of genuflecting or bowing and scraping will quell the anger and resentment Islam feels toward anything non-Islamic.  No matter what we do, it will never be enough.

Afghans won't accept US justice for Koran blunder-cleric

KABUL - Afghans will never accept US justice for five American soldiers involved in burning copies of the Koran, and could rise up in a "storm of fury" if there is no public trial, a senior cleric said on Saturday. The burning of Korans at a NATO air base has incensed the Muslim nation and sparked protests, complicating efforts by the United States to forge a long-term security pact with Afghanistan ahead of an end-2014 foreign combat troop pullout.

"The military leaders who ordered the burning and the offenders should both be tried and punished ... This evil crime has been done inside Afghanistan so the punishment must be according to the country's law," Qazi Nazir Ahmad Hanafi, head of an Afghan group comprising clerics and parliamentarians investigating the incident, told Reuters.

Qur'an burning in Afghanistan nets 5 military personnel disciplinary action

Even though it is agreed by both sides, American and Afghan, that the burning was inadvertent, sharia will be the order of the day, administered by our own American military command.  By punishing these 5 men for something that clearly was an accident, the precedent is set for more sharia-compliance by our leaders in the Pentagon.  This decision will not stop the violence and protests.  Weakness by the enemy of Islam is always seen as a victory, and validates the actions of Muslims to where more aggression is exhibited.

There will be more deaths and mayhem, all courtesy the religion of the perpetually insulted.

Official: Mistakes led to Afghan Quran burnings

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — At least five American military personnel could face a disciplinary review over the burning of Qurans at a U.S. base in Afghanistan as conflicting accounts of what happened emerged Saturday, fueling more confusion over the incident that sparked six days of deadly riots across the nation.
A Western official told The Associated Press that a joint investigation by senior Afghan and U.S. military officials has convinced them that although mistakes were made, there was no intent to desecrate the Qurans and other Islamic religious texts.
The official, who has knowledge of the investigation, said it could lead to a disciplinary review of at least five U.S. military personnel involved. The official did not elaborate and spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case. It is unclear what such a review could recommend.
President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials have apologized and said the Feb. 20 burning at a burn pit at Bagram Air Field outside Kabul was an accident. But the apologies failed to quell the anger, although protests over the burnings have now ebbed.
The outward anger may have lessened a bit, but the fire of hatred inside for anything non-Muslim rages on.

The name is everything

In Saudi Arabia and Iran, the group charged with enforcing public morals (sharia) is known as "The Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice."  In Tunisia it will be known as "Centrist Association for Awareness and reform."  In order to appear "less radical" to the Tunisian people, the name change occurred.  Now one must ask; if Islam is that vaunted religion everyone says it is, and that there is nothing inherently violent or oppressive about it, why admit that the people would not accept the original name because it is seen as too radical?

Just asking.  Anyone care to answer that?  Esposito?  Aslan?  Hooper?  Anyone at all?

Tunisia’s New Islamist Police
Tunisian Police
The new face of Tunisian democracy

“Women without a veil deserve to burn in hell.” — Adel Almi, head of The Centrist Association for Awareness and Reform.
An Islamic militia has been legalized in Tunisia. According to the Tunisian media outlet Kapitalis, the Tunisian Ministry of Interior, lead by Ali Larayedh, chairman of the ruling Islamist party, Ennahda, has given legal status to the “Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice,” an Islamic religious police established after the Tunisian Revolution by self-appointed custodians of Islamic virtues. Kapitalis reports, however, that with the legalization, the name of the Committee was changed to the “Centrist Association for Awareness and Reform” to appear less radical to the Tunisian population.
The association is composed of three committees: one focuses on the Sharia ["The Way," or Islamic religious law]; one on religious “science” and the third on juridical matters. The Centrist Association declares that its objective is to call on citizens be righteous and to follow the rule of Sharia.
There is no such thing as a little bit of sharia, eventually it becomes all or nothing.
Before the Association was legalized, the Tunisian media were reporting that it was being formed by Salafists [followers of the extremely conservative form of Islam practiced in Saudi Arabia], who aggressively intervene in public life by occupying mosques, and verbally and physically attacking women who did not abide by the dress code that they deemed sufficiently modest.
The media outlet Tunisia Live mentions that despite the Association’s having changed its name to look moderate, it is highly radical. The head of the association, Adel Almi, was accused of having “attacked” Prof. Ikbal Gharbi, known for her liberal views. Lately, Almi has come under the spotlight after he decided to forbid Prof. Gharbi — appointed by the government to the post of Director of the religious radio station, Zitouna FM from entering her office. The reason, according to Almi, was that Prof. Gharbi had no religious background, despite her being an eminent professor at the Theological Zitouna University in Tunis.
In reality, Almi objects to a woman being in charge of a religious radio station, and for being known as a reformer with a modernist interpretation of the Qur’an. Further, Prof. Gharbi does not wear the veil and Almi belives – as he said to the Tunisian radio Mosaïque FM – that women without a veil deserve to burn in hell. Members of the association have also been accused of harassing Tunisians on Facebook, asking to fight reformists, as Prof. Gharbi.
Now that the association has been given a legal status, Kapitalis wonders whether Tunisians’ individual freedoms are going to be attacked. “Are the members of this new association going to be present in the public streets and question citizens perceived as not being Islamic righteous? Are the members of the association some sort of Saudi religious militia, charged with the task of directing the faithful towards the path of God? Wait and see,” writesKapitalis.
You won't have long to wait; the answer to your question will, undoubtedly be yes.

Nigerian Update; March 2

The latest from Boko Haram and the religion of peace.

From the Chicago Tribune March 1

Suspected Islamists burn down seven Nigerian schools

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, March 1 (Reuters) - Arsonists suspected to be members of Islamist sect Boko Haram have burned down seven schools in northeastern Nigeria the past few days, authorities said on Thursday, a new twist in the group's increasingly violent insurgency.

Thousands of children have been left without schools in the middle of their term.

Boko Haram, an Islamist movement styled on the Taliban, is waging a low level insurgency against the government that is radiating out from its heartland in the remote northeastern city of Maiduguri right across the north.

Its name means "Western education is sinful", after the anti-Western teachings of its early spiritual leader Mohammed Yusuf, who was killed in police custody in 2009.

Musa Inuwa Kubo, the commissioner of education for Borno state, of which Maiduguri is the capital, said the schools were attacked over the past few days, two of them on Thursday.

Reuters visited the scene of one of the fires, where a building was reduced to a pile of still smouldering ash.

Targeted Christians

A Sunday morning bombing outside the headquarters of a leading Christian denomination in northern Nigeria exploded what has been a brief season of calm in the Plateau State capital, Jos.
The Nigerian-based terrorist group Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the attack Sunday, which killed four and severely injured at least 38. In a tactic now familiar to victims of Boko Haram, a suicide bomber loaded a vehicle with explosives, and then drove through the security gate of the Church of Christ in the Nations (COCIN) headquarters, which includes offices, a church, and classrooms. The bomber apparently planned to crash the gate and detonate his vehicle inside the sanctuary, where hundreds had gathered for worship. Instead, the car’s tire blew and the vehicle hit a motorcycle, detonating only yards away from the church building.
The dead include a woman crushed by the vehicle explosion, a woman who only a week ago relocated to Jos after being displaced by similar attacks on Christians in Yobe State farther north, and a an 18-month-old child.
“On exploding, the bomber himself was in pieces,” said Mark Lipdo of the Jos-based Stefanos Foundation, who pointed out that the fourth victim killed was a church member initially injured in the attack. Bystanders, seeing him beside the vehicle in the immediate aftermath, presumed that he was another Boko Haram assailant and killed him.
The COCIN headquarters in Jos was among 10 church sites highlighted in a Boko Haram posting on the internet last year that “must be bombed and leveled.” The latest suicide bombing was one in a recent string of attacks by the terrorist group on Christian targets in northern and central Nigeria, including a Christmas day bombing of a Catholic church near Abuja that killed 44 people (see “Nowhere to run,” March 10).
The Voice of America reported that Christian youths seeking revenge beat to death two Muslim men in Jos the day following the attack, but sources I spoke to in Jos could not confirm those deaths.

Afghan clerics demand punishment for Koran burners

(Reuters) - Senior Afghan clerics said on Friday the burning of Korans at a NATO base last month was an "evil act" that must be punished, a demand that could deepen widespread public anger over the incident.

"The council strongly condemns this crime and inhumane, savage act by American troops by desecrating holy Korans," members of a council of clerics said after meeting President Hamid Karzai, according to a statement issued by his office.

"The council emphasized that the apology for this evil act can never be accepted. Those who committed this crime must be publicly tried and punished. "Despite apologies from President Barack Obama and other senior U.S. officials, the desecration of the Korans at Bagram air base ignited a wave of anti-Western fury across Afghanistan, including protests that killed 30 people.

The Koran burnings are a setback to the Western campaign to win the hearts and minds of Afghans in order to weaken the Taliban and force the Muslim militant group to negotiate an end to the war now in its 11th year.

A joint investigation, conducted by U.S. military officials and members of the Karzai government, has concluded that five U.S. soldiers were involved in the incident on a NATO military base, officials said on condition of anonymity.

But the joint probe of the incident, one of three being conducted, did not provide specific recommendations on possible disciplinary action the soldiers might face, the officials said.
A separate U.S. Army probe, which has not yet been completed, may contain such recommendations.
The determination of the joint probe, which has not been released, that five soldiers were involved was first reported by the Washington Post.
Yet the statements on Friday by the Afghans clerics - reflecting Muslims' deep reverence for the Koran - suggests at least some Afghans will not be satisfied without a public trial.

Tunisia: democracy runs amok, new constitution will have sharia enshrined as the only source of legislation

How much sharia will be enforced is still to be determined, but even with just a little sharia, eventually someone will want just a little more, and then a bit more, until full blown sharia compliance is the order of the day.  There is no such thing as too much sharia.

Shari’a Rises in Tunisia’s Constitution-Drafting Process

(CNSNews.com) – As Tunisian lawmakers wrestle over the drafting of a new constitution, the place of Islamic law is causing contention, but with Islamists dominating the process the new constitution looks set to describe shari’a as “the principal source of legislation.”
Tunisia, the country that launched last year’s political upheavals in many parts of the Arab world, is being closely watched, as observers across the region and in the West ponder the future of the so-called “Arab spring” amid the rise of Islamist parties.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been optimistic about Tunisia, saying during a visit to North Africa last week that she was encouraged by what she saw and heard. Testifying in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, she described Tunisia as “a country that I think deserves a lot of attention and support from the United States.”
Last October, the Islamist Ennahda (Renaissance) party won a plurality of the seats when Tunisians elected an assembly mandated to draft a new national constitution.
Article One of Tunisia’s current constitution, promulgated in 1959, declares that “Tunisia is a free, independent and sovereign state. Its religion is Islam, its language is Arabic and its type of government is the Republic.”
Ennahda, which holds 89 of the assembly’s 217 seats, wants the new document to go further, and explicitly assert the importance of shari’a.

Refugee Iraqi in Kentucky arrested for providing material support to jihadists

First he claims refugee status and is granted asylum.  While "assimilating" into Western culture he decided to continue with his previous ways; killing non-Muslims, especially soldiers.  Mohanad Shareef Hammadi is another misunderstander of Islam, and I am sure someone like Reza Aslan, or Karen Armstrong, or Ibrahim Hooper will be winging to Kentucky as you read this, to explain to Hammadi how he has Islam all wrong.

FBI: Iraqi bragged about insurgent operations in Baghdad; agents seized 4 phones in raid

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An Iraqi man who settled in Kentucky as a refugee boasted about having been an insurgent in Baghdad as he plotted with a confidential informant to ship weapons and money to Al-Qaida in his home country, the FBI said in a search warrant application obtained Monday.
FBI Special Agent Chris Faber quoted 24-year-old Mohanad Shareef Hammadi as saying he didn’t know how many explosives he had placed in Iraq because “By God I didn’t count them.”
“I mean, I used to do two or three operations a day in Baghdad and I used to do every day in my neighborhood,” Hammadi said.
The search warrant, approved Jan. 25 and obtained by The Associated Press as a public record, gives details of recorded conversations between Hammadi, 30-year-old Waad Ramadan Alwan and the confidential source from late 2009 through early summer 2011 in Bowling Green.
Hammadi faces 12 charges, including perjury and attempting to send material support to a known terrorist organization. His trial is scheduled for July 30. Alwan pleaded guilty to 23 terrorism-related charges in December and is to be sentenced April 3.
The warrant also detailed how Hammadi and Alwan acquired what they thought were working weapons, including rocket propelled grenade launchers, C4 explosives and Russian-made surface-to-air missiles, and allegedly plotted to ship those and financial aid to Al-Qaida in Iraq. The FBI said all the weapons were rendered inoperable.
Prosecutors sought the warrant to seize and search four cell phones from Hammadi because records show that he made international phone calls on them. The warrant does not reveal what agents found on the phones.
Prosecutors say Hammadi lied to gain refugee status and enter the United States. Prosecutors said Alwan took part in insurgent activities in Iraq, including planting improvised explosive devices targeting U.S. troops.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Louisville, which is prosecuting the case, declined to comment on the details of the warrant.

Former Leftist Eric Allen Bell: What is right about Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer

In "What Is Right About Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer" at FrontPage today, Eric Allen Bell chronicles how his remarkable intellectual journey led him to reevaluate two people he had formerly despised: Pamela Geller and me.
[Editor's note: The article below is written by Eric Allen Bell, a filmmaker who was recently banned from blogging at  the “Daily Kos” because he wrote three articles that ran afoul of the mindset there, specifically naming “Loonwatch.com” as a “terrorist spin control network.” Don't miss Eric Bell on Frontpage's television program, The Glazov Gang.]
I write this mainly for the benefit of so many of my Liberal friends.  I know you have good hearts, but have been badly deceived by your peers and leaders when it comes to the threat of Jihad, and the character of those few brave individuals, who have had the courage to risk everything, to stand up for liberty and human rights…
BACKGROUND:
In the summer of 2010 I was invited to write an article for Michael Moore.  I was in production on a documentary I was calling “Not Welcome” regarding the backlash against construction of a 53,000 square foot mega mosque in the middle of the American Bible Belt.  His endorsement gave me a huge boost with the Hollywood crowd.  Having worked in the entertainment industry for years, this was not my first film, but it was to be my first documentary.  So when I went on to write a few more articles for MichaelMoore.com the wheels were greased for me to get into a room with the right people, and secure the finishing funds I needed to complete post production.  And if there is one thing Hollywood loves (almost as much as congratulating itself), it’s the story of an innocent minority group being wrongly persecuted, preferably in the South, especially if the antagonist happens to be the Religious Right.  And as my editor and I assembled the first 25 minutes, of the 300 hours of footage shot, this film promised to deliver just that.  “Wow, I really wasn’t expecting this.  I would like to thank the members of the Academy, Michael Moore and the Prophet Mohammed for making all of this possible…”
But then the winds changed direction.  It seems that fate had issued a Fatwa against my perfect plan.  The Arab Spring sprang into action and ruined everything, as it degenerated disappointingly into the Islamist Winter.  It was as if I had been slapped upside the head by reality, thus knocking off my blinders and causing me to ask a lot of inconvenient questions.  I was left wondering if there was perhaps more to the story of so-called “revolution” than what had been portrayed on Al Jazeera and “Democracy Now with Amy Goodman”.  You can read more about this in an article I wrote for Front Page Magazine here: “The High Price of Telling the Truth About Islam”.
I took a second and more critical look inside Islamic scripture, comparing and contrasting the countless acts of Islamic terrorism, with specific commands to carry out these violent and barbaric attacks on innocent infidels as ordered in the Koran, the Hadith, and the Sunnah.  And after much difficult soul searching I had realized I was making more than just a documentary.  I was making a terrible mistake.   So I went back to my backers and told them how I had changed the outline of the documentary, to include a critical examination of the violent dimension that informed so much of the Islamic world today, and throughout history, and how desperately this story needed to be told, and I consequently lost the backing to my film.
As a writer who had written over a hundred articles for The Daily Kos, a liberal blog which receives about a million visitors a day, I wrote 3 articles outlining what I had learned about Islam, it’s execution of homosexuals and how hundreds of millions of women around the world were living under Islamic gender apartheid.  I called attention to this as a human rights issue, human rights being in theory a big concern among Liberal audiences.  The warm reception that followed included being labeled a “bigot” a “right winger” and an “Islamophobe” in the hundreds of subsequent reader comments, demanding that my “hate speech” be banned.  And after that the Islamophobia watchdog site, Loonwatch.com created a link for readers to write directly to the editors of DKOS, demanding my voice be silenced.  And I was immediately banned from ever writing for The Daily Kos.
In the weeks that passed I received many “goodbye” texts and emails from friends letting me know that we were no longer friends.  I saw my name get smeared in print – lies, misquotes, distortions, character assassination.  Loonwatch.com named me the “Loon At Large”
(UPDATE: Since appearing on the Michael Coren show and telling my story about how Loonwatch put my name out on the street in the Islamic world, Loonwatch has since pulled that article from their site.  Thank you very much Michael Coren!).
My friend count on Facebook took a hit.  My blog, which has had over 23 million visitors and  usually receives at least a million visitors per month, got hacked over and over for weeks before my traffic rebounded.   And, many of my subscribers left the site, telling me that I was “spreading intolerance and ignorance”.  On donations and ad revenue I took a massive financial hit.  For so many who had known me for so long, I had become nothing more than an “intolerant hate monger”

Sudan's Bashir "not Muslim enough" for the Islamic Constitution Front

Sudan: Islamists Warn Bashir Over Shariah Constitution

Khartoum — A coalition of radical Islamic groups in Sudan has threatened to unseat the country's President Omer Al-Bashir if he failed to heed demands for a constitution based on Shariah laws.
Sudan's far-right and Islamist groups have been lobbying to have the country's 2005 Transitional Constitution replaced with an Islamic one after the mainly-Christian South Sudan seceded in July last year.
To that end, they formed the Islamic Constitution Front (ICF) and proposed the Draft Constitution of Sudan, which is based entirely on Shariah law and, according to a report earlier this month, prohibits the appointment of women in the judiciary.
On Tuesday, the ICF held its foundation conference in the capital Khartoum, and the coalition members who include the Salafi Ansar Al-Suna, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Just Peace Forum (JPF), signed its founding statement which called for applying Shariah laws.
The conference, which was attended by a host of political parties, saw some ICF representatives boldly warning the government and president Al-Bashir against an uprising by Islamists if their proposed constitution is not adopted.
Addressing the opening session, the ICF member and Imam of the Grand Mosque in Khartoum, Shaykh Kamal Riziq, regretted the fact that it was them who took the initiative to propose the Islamic constitution rather than the government itself.
He went on to warn that the government was now facing a choice between adopting their constitution and leaving.
"I find no qualms in telling the government that it should either rule by Islam or go unregrettably" he declared.

Two Bibles 'containing terror codes' found hidden in Bin Laden compound as it is demolished
Pakistani security officials have found two copies of the Bible at the house where Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden was killed.

The Christian holy books were discovered this week when demolition crews were sent in to tear down the compound in Abbottabad.

They were so well hidden that security personnel had previously overlooked them.

It is thought the English-print editions contain coded clues to future terror attacks, The Sun reported.

Pakistan's ISI security service also found two radio sets in a final sweep of the compound before demolition.

The English-language Bibles - a bizarre find in the home of the world's most famous Islamic fundamentalist - contained pages that are folded-over and highlighted texts.

An ISI commanding officer told The Sun: 'The Bibles were in English and we cannot be sure why they were there. These copies were found as we checked the rooms for the final time before demolishing the building.

'The radios are in working condition and will be given with the Bibles to the investigators. Some pages were folded and we will see later what was of most interest to Bin Laden.

'Maybe he was looking for teachings of jihad.'

Heh.

Yemen: 4 beaten for drinking alcohol

Time and again, sharia demands total submission to it's rules.  To show how powerful and in control Islam is, they go after easy targets as it is the best way for a government to look busy and pious without actually doing anything.

And the more sharia is enforced, the more sharia is enforced.

Qaeda lashes four Yemenis for drinking alcohol
ADEN: Al Qaeda terrorists in Yemen gave four people 80 lashes each for drinking alcohol, in the presence of dozens of witnesses summoned to watch a show of summary justice.

The punishment was administered late on Sunday in the town of Jaar in Abyan province, a major al Qaeda stronghold in the restive south, witnesses said. Since May, al Qaeda terrorists calling themselves Partisans of Sharia (Islamic law) have taken control of several towns in Abyan.

The army, backed by US drones, has since been locked in battle with the extremists over the control of Abyan’s provincial capital Zinjibar. The militants have enforced their own strict interpretation of Islamic justice, handing out lashes and severing the hands of people they accuse of stealing.

Germany: 1 in 4 Muslims refuse to integrate

48% of non-German Muslim immigrants refuse to become part of German culture.

"There are currently around four million Muslims living in Germany, of which nearly half are German citizens."

That means one million Muslims in Germany will not melt into the German cultural pot.  That is potentially one million enemies of the state.  I understand why Germany is becoming more frightened as the days go by.

Many German Muslims 'refuse to integrate'

Fashionably creepy in Deutschland.

Nearly every fourth non-German Muslim rejects integration, questions western values and tends to accept violence, according to a study commissioned by the German Interior Ministry and released late Thursday morning.
Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said the study's results were worrying, according to in an interview published on Thursday.
“Germany respects the background and cultural identity of its immigrants. But we don’t accept the importation of authoritarian, anti-democratic and religiously fanatical points of view,” Friedrich told the Bild newspaper.
Unfortunately you have accepted this up to this point, so any action taken by you to stem this problem will probably end up being too little too late.
Whoever fights against freedom and democracy will not have a future here, said the minister - a member of the ruling Christian Democratic Union’s sister party, the Christian Social Union.

The survey showed that of Muslims living in Germany who were not German citizens, 52 percent favored integration, while 48 percent “strongly leaned toward separation” and clearly rejected German majority culture.

But when taking into account both Muslims who were German citizens and those who were not, the figure rose to 78 percent in favor of integration, versus 22 percent who favoured a more separatist approach.

The interior ministry’s study, “The Daily Life of Young Muslims in Germany” surveyed Muslims between 14 and 32 who had not become German citizens. It also interviewed several generations of Muslims living in Germany and evaluated television programmes.

There are currently around four million Muslims living in Germany, of which nearly half are German citizens.

The survey also showed that among the 14 to 32-year-olds there exists a "subgroup" of religious extremists who hold anti-western views and are reportedly prepared to use violence.

This group amounts to about 15 percent of Muslims with German citizenship and about 24 percent for Muslims who are not German.

That's about 390,000 possible jihadists living in Germany.  What is the Muslim community doing to help round up these misunderstanders of the religion of peace?  Anything?  Anyone?

UN now practicing sharia, demanding prosecution of those who inadvertently burned a few Qur'ans

Not only disgusting, but a travesty against the UN charter and a victory for Islamists and those wanting further encroachment of sharia into all aspects of society.  This should be enough reason for the US to pull out of the UN but we won't, we will continue to let the enemies of free speech and liberty control what used to be a fair and unbiased institution.

Qur’an burners ‘should be punished’

Kabul - The United Nations joined Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Thursday in calling on the US military to take disciplinary action against those who burned copies of the Qur’an at a NATO air base, calling the incident a “grave mistake”.
Despite an apology from US President Barack Obama, the burning of the Muslim holy book at the Bagram base north of the capital ignited a wave of anti-Western fury across the country.
At least 30 people were killed in protests, including two American soldiers who were killed by an Afghan soldier who joined the demonstrations.
“After the first step of a profound apology, there must be a second step ... of disciplinary action,” Jan Kubis, special representative for the UN secretary-general in Afghanistan, told a news conference.
“Only after this, after such a disciplinary action, can the international forces say 'yes, we're sincere in our apology',” added Kubis, without elaborating on what action should be taken.

Mosques in America; how many are there?

Way more than you think, and the trend is for more in the future as the Muslim population grows.  The latest figures show there are now over 2,000 mosques across the landscape, and the number of those which are less than friendly to their Western home is the most difficult number to calculate.

Let's try a quick numbers experiment.  There are about 2100 mosques, and the Muslim population is about 3 million.  Divide the two and we have about 1400 per mosque.  If we accept that 5% of the Muslim population are disposed to jihad, that means that each mosque has the potential to harbor up to 70 jihadists.

Call me crazy, but I don't like those numbers.  Granted they are but potentials based in incomplete numbers and projections, but even if it's just close, it portends badly for the future of Islam here in the U.S.

NEW YORK — The number of American mosques has increased dramatically in the last decade despite post 9/11 protests aimed at Muslim houses of worship, according to a new study. The new Islamic centers serve Muslims who moved into the suburbs and newer immigrants from Africa, Iraq and elsewhere.
Researchers conducting the national count found a total of 2,106 Islamic centers, compared to 1,209 in 2000 and 962 in 1994. About one-quarter of the centers were built between 2000-2011, as the community faced intense scrutiny by government officials and a suspicious public. In 2010, protest against an Islamic center near ground zero erupted into a national debate over Islam, extremism and religious freedom. Anti-mosque demonstrations spread to Tennessee, California and other states.
Ihsan Bagby, a professor at the University of Kentucky and lead author of the study, said the findings show Muslims are carving out a place for themselves despite the backlash.
What backlash?  Bagby must be referring to the perceived backlash against Muslims that never materialized.
"This is a growing, healthy Muslim community that is well integrated into America," Bagby said. "I think that is the best message we can send to the world and the Muslim world in particular."
The report released Wednesday, "The American Mosque 2011," is a tally based on mailing lists, websites and interviews with community leaders, and a survey and interviews with 524 mosque leaders. The research is of special interest given the limited scholarship so far on Muslim houses of worship, which include a wide range of religious traditions, nationalities and languages.
Researchers defined a mosque as a Muslim organization that holds Friday congregational prayers called jumah, conducts other Islamic activities and has operational control of its building. Buildings such as hospitals and schools that have space for Friday prayer were not included. Chapters of the Muslim Student Association at colleges and universities were included only if they had space off-campus or had oversight of the building where prayer was held.
The overwhelming majority of mosques are in cities, but the number located in suburbs rose from 16 percent in 2000 to 28 percent in 2011. The Northeast once had the largest number of mosques, but Islamic centers are now concentrated in the South and West, the study found. New York still has the greatest number of Islamic centers — 257 — followed by 246 in California and 166 in Texas. Florida is fourth with 118. The shift follows the general pattern of population movement to the South and West.
And these states and areas are the places where the greatest Muslim agitation and discord is happening.  A great way to achieve this and stay below the radar is to move your location to the quiet and bucolic suburbs, or even true rural areas, like Oregon.

Jizya payment to Egypt of 5M to secure the release of 16 Americans "rights workers"

A interesting euphemism, the meaning of which can only be surmised.  I take it to mean they are human rights activists, and as we know, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafists, who now control 80% of the new government do not take kindly to that Western principle of human rights.

The only thing that would satisfy them, and have them know that we have been sufficiently subdued is a jizya payment.  Our dhimmi status is secured with this 5 million dollar payment to affect the freedom of these 16 people, and in the future we will pay on demand whatever the price is, to maintain that status.

Sickening.

$5M paid to buy freedom for rights workers held in Egypt

Seven American rights workers are on a plane out of Egypt after the U.S. paid nearly $5 million in bail costs to secure their freedom.

Egyptian officials said the U.S. paid $300,000 each for 16 Americans, nine of whom were already out of the country.

The State Department said the money was paid by the nongovernmental organizations where the democracy and rights workers work. However, the NGOs receive U.S. funding for their operations.
State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said workers from other international organizations were also on the plane. They were Norwegian, Serbian, Palestinian and German.

Nuland said the plane was headed to a destination in Europe but didn't want to say where in order to protect their privacy until the workers decide how much they want to speak to the press. Reports said the plane was headed to Cyprus.

"Frankly, we don't want the plane mobbed when they land," Nuland said, refusing to identify who was on the plane.

"None were in custody or subject to arrest," just subject to travel restrictions, a situation Nuland described as an "ordeal."

Egypt lifted the travel ban on the seven late Wednesday and set the bail. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said at a news conference on Capitol Hill Thursday that the Americans were on a plane out.

The International Republican Institute, which had workers among those held in Egypt, said in a statement that it welcomes the decision and is hopeful the charges will be dismissed.

"IRI views the decision as a positive development but remains very concerned about the situation and our Egyptian employees along with the continuing investigations of Egyptian civil society groups and the impact it will have on Egypt's ability to move forward with the democratic transition that so many Egyptians have sought," the statement read.

Diplo-speak for we are scared s*#tless that traditional Islam is taking over, and we have no idea what to do about it.
