Tunisia: Mentally handicapped man to spend 4 years in prison for desecrating the Qur'an

No worries, however, because as we all know Tunisia is just "re-adjusting" to it's new democracy.

Nothing to see people...move along.

Tunisian jailed for desecrating the Koran

(Reuters) - A Tunisian court has sentenced a man to four years in prison for desecrating the Koran, official media reported on Thursday.
Respect for religious symbols has become a matter of furious debate in Tunisia since the 2011 democratic revolution, which led to the election of an Islamist-led government that opponents fear is bent on gradually suppressing secular ways of life.
Prosecutors in the court case said the man, Ramzi Absha, had thrown copies of the Muslim holy book into lavatories at several mosques in the southern city of Ben Guerdane, according to the official news agency TAP.
A lawyer for Absha said the sentence was unfair. "The defendant suffers from mental illness and this should be taken into account," TAP quoted Abdel Nasser Aouini as saying.
Last month, a court sentenced two young Tunisians, one of them in absentia, to seven years in jail for posting caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad on Facebook.
Islamists said the caricatures were a gross insult but secularists said the sentence was too harsh and amounted to a crackdown on freedom of expression.
The revolution fanned underlying tension in Tunisia between conservative Muslims who believe their faith should be given a bigger role in public life and secularists who say freedom of expression and women's rights are now in jeopardy.
The government, led by the moderate Islamist Ennahda party that won 42 percent of seats in the post-revolution election, says it has a duty to defend standards of public decency.
Its secularist opponents accuse it of using the judicial system to crack down on anyone who does not fall into line with religious orthodoxy.

 Al-Shabaab execute al-Amriki
The al-Qaeda-allied group al-Shabaab executed US-born jihadist Omar Hammami on April 5th, according to unconfirmed Somali media reports.

Hammami, known as Abu Mansour al-Amriki, said he feared for his life from other al-Shabaab leaders because of strategic and ideological differences in a statement released last month.

According to Somalia's Gedo Online, Hammami was the only one absent from a recent meeting attended by top al-Shabaab leaders in Baraawe.

Al-Shabaab reportedly hunted down Hammami after he left Marka in the Lower Shabelle region. He was reportedly beheaded on the spot and buried somewhere between Marka and Baraawe.

Taxi Sharia in England

The passengers had booked the cab for 6pm to take them to a local restaurant.  They had a bottle of wine with them, as the restaurant was not licensed to sell alcohol but allowed patrons to bring their own..  When the cab driver found out they had the wine, he told them his religion prevented him from taking them as a fare.   "I am sorry but I can’t allow it in my cab – it’s against my religion" he said, and the ride was over.  Even though the cab company apologized this is another example of how sharia is creeping steadily, one jihadist at a time into non-Muslim cultures.

MUSLIM CABBIE KICKS OUT FAMILY FOR CARRYING WINE

Adrian Cartwright, 46, booked the cab to take his wife and young daughter on a five-minute journey to an Indian restaurant for an early evening meal.
But he was left fuming when the private hire driver booted them out of the taxi after he spotted they had an unopened bottle of white wine.
Mr Cartwright later wrote about the incident in detail on Facebook – prompting the driver’s Asian-run taxi firm to sack him.
He said: “We all got inside the car and the driver said: ‘Is that alcohol?’ When I said ‘yes’ he replied: ‘I am sorry but I can’t allow it in my cab – it’s against my religion’.
“I knew it wasn’t worth arguing so we had to get out.”
He added: “The meal I had that evening was a Halal meal, whose methods I don’t agree with, but tolerate out of respect.
“I expect anyone offering a public service to do the same, and will be contacting the licensing department to suggest that the driver is politely asked to do so, or hand his badge back.”
Mr Cartwright complained to Borough Cars in Royton, near Oldham, Greater Manchester, and the self-employed cabbie was fired 30 minutes later.

The Obama administration has ordered no secondary security checks for the Muslim Brotherhood delegation visiting the capital for talks on democracy in Egypt.  One delegate has been implicated though not charged in a childporn investigation, and still the WH wants the group to march carte blanche through security that everyone else must endure.  Not just a secondary inspection was denied, but "... the State Department barred US Customs officials from carrying out even the standard inspection mandated for foreigners arriving from Egypt, where an enhanced security program is in place as a result of the 9-11 attacks."

If Obama is not a Muslim he sure is acing like one.  May God protect us from this dangerous and, in my mind criminal POTUS.

IPT Exclusive: State Department Barred Inspection of Muslim Brotherhood Delegation

The State Department broke with normal procedures last week when it ordered the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) not to conduct a secondary inspection on members of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) on their way to visit government officials and think tanks in the United States.
This happened despite the fact that one member of the delegation had been implicated – though not charged – in a U.S. child pornography investigation, the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has learned.
According to senior enforcement sources and documents reviewed by the IPT, investigators had information tying Abdul Mawgoud Dardery to the pornography investigation that was based in Pennsylvania. He was the senior member in the four-person FJP delegation which held court with academic groups and met with senior officials at the White House and State Department last week. (For more on what they said, click here.)
The FJP recently won a plurality of seats in recent elections to determine makeup of the next Egyptian Parliament.
Before returning to Egypt, Dardery lived in the United States long enough to attain legal permanent residency, known as a green card. That status lapsed after he left the country for more than six months. The child pornography investigation took place during Dardery's time here and was noted in his immigration file. It surfaced when CBP officials learned of his pending visit.
A U.S. official familiar with immigration procedures told the IPT that extra inspection is standard operating procedure when a foreign visitor has been tied to criminal or terrorist activities...

Somalia: thief has hand amputated by Al-Shabaab

But we are the barbarians.

From Africa Review April 13 by Abdulkadir  Khalif

Somali militants chop mans hand off

Somalia Islamic militants Al-Shabaab Thursday amputated the hand of a man accused of theft at Alamada, 18km south of Mogadishu.
The amputation of the young man, identified only as Mohamed, was witnessed by a large crowd of onlookers.
An Al-Shabaab official at the scene said Mohamed was found guilty of stealing clothes.
“A sharp sword was used to slash the right hand away,” confirmed witnesses who did not want their names mentioned for security reasons.
Three other youths were flogged by Al-Shabaab militants for various offences.

Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) tells Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement as it is against sharia

"Islamic communities must settle their disputes in righteousness, under the framework of the arbitration of the shar'ia. (They are also) to seek through legal means which exist in the countries in which they reside to make it possible for themselves to seek legal recourse in their shar'ia, and (not only) for personal affairs."

Muslim lawyers in America are saying this, and using copious amounts of Qur'anic and ahadith quotes to justify their position. Is this not sedition and treason? Is this not a religion using its own texts and tenets to subjugate a people and exert its influence, and if not, show us where we have that all wrong.

Remember this the next time someone says sharia is not a problem and is compatible with our constitution.

Mainstream American Muslim Group Warns Muslims Against Working in Law Enforcement, Becoming "Pleased with a Legal System That Does Not Come from Allah"

The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) cautioned American Muslims in a 22-page Arabic-language paper in 2008 against working in law enforcement in countries which do not rule by Allah's dictates. One of their main concerns was that such work might cause Muslims to gain love and respect for secular laws:
...there are many evils which result from working in law enforcement, the greatest of which is compelling people to obey rulings which do not come from Allah. It could also cause reverence and love for these rulings to enter the heart of the police officer, and perhaps spread to the hearts of his family members and other Muslims who see him at the mosque or even Muslims in general. They could lose conviction of governance by Allah, and become pleased with a legal system that does not come from Allah. (italics added)
AMJA provided some allowances for Muslims to work in certain law enforcement professions, fearing that a lack of Muslim representation in this sector could bring negative effects for the Muslim community. They also reasoned that Muslims working as police officers might be able to use their positions to help the Muslim community, such as helping out with traffic near their mosques and protecting their mosques. Still, there was concern that some of these might be required to enforce laws contrary to the shari'a, such as "arrest[ing] a Muslim man whose wife said he 'raped' her."

The AMJA paper specifically forbade Muslims from working for the FBI or in national security positions, due to their alleged arbitrary targeting of certain Muslims for "their political beliefs, charity work, or some of their convictions under the shari'a"--an apparent reference to counterterrorism investigations against Muslim suspects.

The paper also made clear that Muslims are to seek justice not in secular courts, but in Islamic courts which are compliant with their shari'a:  "It is not permissible to pursue justice in the man-made (i.e. non-Islamic) judiciary, except where there is an absence of a shari'a-compliant substitute capable of restoring one's rights and working out one's grievances" (see my translation of another AMJA paper on working in the judiciary here).

Throughout the paper it is made clear that the duty of Muslims is not to uphold and respect the laws of the land in which they reside, but rather to do everything in their power to make the laws of Allah--the shari'a--supreme:
[Muslims are] to seek through legal means which exist in the countries in which they reside to make it possible for themselves to seek legal recourse in their shar'ia, and (not only) for personal affairs.
The duty to make Islam supreme comes above all, even preserving one's life:
We must remember that preserving the religion comes before preserving one’s self, mind, wealth, honor, or offspring. [...] But if saving [the individual's] life destroys Islam, then saving Islam comes first, even if it means the individual is destroyed. This is the case with jihad against the infidels, and the killing of apostates, and so forth.
It is worth stressing once again that AMJA--whose stated purpose is to "clarify the rulings of the sharia which are relevant for those who live in America"--is a mainstream American Muslim organization. Their membership list contains a large number of highly-influential American imams and Muslim leaders, including Muhammad al-Majid of the Adam Center in Virginia; Hussein Hamed Hassan, director of the financial consultancy firm which advises Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and other large American banking institutions; Zulfiqar Ali Shah, former president of Islamic Circle of North America and current executive director of the Fiqh Council of North America; and the author of this paper, Dr. Hatem al-Haj, MD, PhD, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics, and founder and president of "Building Blocks of Islam."

Pretzel jihad

The types and kinds of jihad are as varied as the colors of golf pants.  Jihad against anything and everything has come down the pike in recent years; pants, beer, hairstyles, clothing, tattoos, music, art, TV, radio, going to the beach, going to school and many others are all examples of the "tolerance" of Islam.

Now we can add pretzels to the list of things deemed "un-Islamic" and not fit for human interaction.  This case specifically addresses the long-simmering dispute between Turkey and Greece, but the real victims are all those who love pretzels in both Turkey and Greece.

From ANSAmed April 6

Turkey- Greece: Simit (or koulouri) pretzel in dispute

not a real pretzel

(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, APRIL 6 - Even a pretzel can bear witness to the deep roots linking Turkey and Greece, united under the Byzantine and Ottoman empires to then become rivals over the Aegean Sea, and now forced to engage in dialogue due to the current economic crisis.

The pretzel in question is the sesame-seed-covered in 'simit', which - known under a variety of names such as the Greek 'koulouri' - is also widely consumed in Serbia, Bulgaria and other parts of the Balkans and Middle East, such as Lebanon.

Its spread went hand in hand with the conquests of Levantine empires and renders its culinary and national connotation uncertain.

Now, in order to snatch it away from an attempt at appropriation by the Greeks, Istanbul's vendors association has requested an international patent on the pretzel. This was reported by the Turkish daily Hurriyet, which underscored that the move has given rise to resentment in Greece, where another newspaper (Eleftheros Typos) spoke of a new stage in the debate over the origins of foods, as seen in the tooth-achingly sweet dessert baklava. However, this time it has also brought back up an age-old, territorial-nationalistic issue: that of the two small islands of Kardak (Imia) from the mid-1990s.

In warning that they are taking action alongside the Turkish Culture Ministry, the chairman of Istanbul simit vendors association, Zeli Sami Ozdemir, said that ''Greeks want to appropriate the simit, and we have decided to take possession of it'' before they get to it.

However, the simit/koulouri has shared roots which are tricky to follow back to their source, as it has been eaten for centuries and enjoys an almost mythical character. The Greek newspaper quoted by Hurriyet noted that in the Roman province Epirus mothers hoped their sons would become simit vendors in the metropolis looking out over the Bosporus.

The pretzel was widely known before Christ, and became popular in Constantinople (now Istanbul) and Thessaloniki (now part of Greece) in Byzantine times. As well-known, however, the Ottoman Empire which cemented this tradition also meant Turkish domination over Greece and painful deportations from both sides: first during the Balkan wars and then with the foundation of modern Turkey by Kemal Ataturk. The division of Cyprus and territorial disputes over other Aegean islands have often brought the two countries to the verge of war, averted solely by mutual membership in NATO.

Due to conditioning and fostered by incendiary speculation, concerns have been sparked over the recent military exercises in the Mediterranean and hydrocarbons exploration in disputed waters over the past few months. But greater in number are the official statements and the initiatives indicating that the two countries are growing closer, especially due to the economy, with Greece's in the depths of a serious crisis and Turkey's prospering at a confirmed growth rate of 8.5% last year, the second strongest in the world after China's and despite a 5.3% slowdown over the last quarter. In line with the conciliatory statements made by the two countries' prime ministers in autumn, last month Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said that trade with Turkey would save Greece's future.

Banda Aceh, Indonesia: sharia to be enforced, caning for gamblers and drinkers, women forbidden from wearing tight pants and debate rages over stoning

Remember, this is the place hit by the tsunami in 2004 that killed hundreds of thousands and that was graced by your generous donations of money, food and other supplies, ostensibly to help the poor besotted people in their hour of need.

Feel better about yourself now?

From The Australian April 10

Aceh goes to the polls under the austere shadow of sharia

INDONESIA'S only province ruled by Islamic sharia was last night counting votes to elect a powerful governor in polls that will test a fragile peace following a 30-year separatist war.
The elections in Aceh are the second since the province suffered 170,000 fatalities in the Asian tsunami of 2004, and since the war against Indonesian rule ended in 2005, having claimed 15,000 lives.
Voters were electing the governor - the top post in the province - as well as 17 district heads and deputies.
At the village of Ulee Lheue, on the outskirts of the capital Banda Aceh early yesterday, voters were invited to cast ballots with a call from the local mosque speaker: "Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you), all residents of Ulee Lheue. Those who are eligible, please come now to vote," an official called.
Here, only 415 people out of a community of 6000 villagers survived the tsunami.
The population has since grown to about 800.
I have questions about gene drift and gene flow regarding the increase in population.  Is the increase due to an influx of new people, or has the birth rate been such that it could generate the doubling of the population within it's own narrow gene pool?  If the latter, it opens up a world of mutations and in-breeding, something Islam is very familiar with.
Aceh, on the western edge of the scattered Indonesian archipelago, enjoys broad autonomy and is an anomaly in a country where most of the 240 million people practise a moderate form of Islam.
Alcohol is freely sold in the rest of Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation, but it is banned in Aceh. In some of the province's regions, women are forbidden to wear tight trousers.
Gamblers and drinkers are publicly caned. Debate still churns in Aceh over whether adulterers should continue to be publicly flogged or stoned to death.
Adulterers in Islam, for a majority cases refers to a woman who is raped.  Yes, you are murdered because you were raped.  Seems a tad cruel, doesn't it?

Da Vinci was a Muslim

No, really.

From ABNA April 4

Da Vinci was a Muslim
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Morteza Khalaj Amirhosseini's book "Leonardo Da Vinci's Drawings" contains best drawings as well as a detailed biography of this eminent artist. Based on valid sources, the book proves that Da Vinci had been converted into Persian.

Amirhosseini added: "I have prepared the book in order to address the needs of art students as there was no comprehensive book of Da Vinci's works available in Iran. We should know an artist by his works, but unfortunately Da Vinci is just an icon in Iran with mythological fame."

Amirhosseini went on to say that the book presents a complete biography of Da Vinci in which he has proved based on first-hand sources that the Renaissance artist had become a Muslim. However, the west prefers to keep silent on the subject, he added.

He added: "A French writer in the 19th century has evaluated the issue of Da Vinci's conversion to Islam in a treatise, but the west has banned the publication of this treatise."

'Leonardo Da Vinci's Drawings' is compiled by Morteza Khalaj Amirhosseini and published by Ketab-e Aban in 172 pages.

Salvador Dali back from the dead, moustache threatened by sharia

There is nothing I like more than absolute farce, and this article is just that.  Amir Afridi is not Dali, but his carefully groomed moustache makes it appear he could be the brother of Dali.  Although, as weird as Dali was, maybe Afridi is Dali incarnate (cue Twilight Zone music)

From the Telegraph April 9 by Rob Crilly

In Pakistan: your moustache or your life

Solely responsible for moustache wax sales in Pakistan

There is no finer mark of a Pakistani man than a fully oiled, waxed and twirled moustache. For 18 years, Amir Muhammad Afridi’s vast handlebar moustache, curling as high as his forehead, made him a celebrity throughout the rugged, tribal lands that border Afghanistan.
But that was until his luxuriant facial hair came to the attention ofLashkar-i-Islam, extremists who are fighting to impose hardline Sharia in the Khyber agency where Mr Afridi lived.
For the past two years he has braved death threats, intimidation and been forced to flee his home all in the name of a moustache that demands 30 minutes of grooming every morning. (It's a highly specialised regimen involving almond oil, hairdryers and a secret wax that no amount of pleading will make him reveal.)
“They arrested me in broad daylight, put me in their car,” he told me. “They took me to a religious scholar who declared the moustache un-Islamic and ordered it removed.
“There was nothing I could do. I was surrounded by guns. If I had resisted I would be dead."
They set about his moustache, which at that time stretched 12 inches away from his face, reducing it to what Mr Afridi described in a sorrowful voice as “ordinary”.
Since then Mr Afridi, 42, has given up his home in the town of Banna and moved his wife and 10 children to the north-western city of Peshawar where he lives anonymously running a small business importing watches. He has regrown his moustache and only now, with violence declining in Peshawar in the past year, is he prepared to speak publicly about the threat to his life.
“I promised myself I would pray for death but would never surrender my moustache,” he said, despite his wife’s protestations. “She said earlier it was your hobby, but now it's endangering your life so please remove it.”
Such was the local pride in the great moustache that officials in Banna paid him about £40 a month to help with the cost of maintaining it – a significant sum in Pakistan’s tribal belt.
Male grooming is something of an obsession in Pakistan, and well-tended moustaches are sported by prominent politicians, sportsmen and military leaders (although you should never appoint a man with a moustache as the head of your army – he'll overthrow you, according to this brilliant analysis of Pakistan's facial hair).
The ritual showdown at the Wagah border crossing, when Indian and Pakistan border guards strut and stamp their rivalry, is conducted amidmuch moustache twirling.
And legend has it that a quarrel within Pakistan’s first family of politics ended with Benazir Bhutto’s brother, Murtaza, shaving off the moustache of her husband, Asif Ali Zardari. Today her brother is dead and her widower is president.
However, the moustache is also a target of Islamic extremists. They point to one of the lessons attributed to the Prophet Mohammed: “Act against the polytheists, trim closely the moustache and grow beard."

Gasline between Israel and Egypt sabotaged for the 14th time

Someone must not like Israel.  Who could that be.  Hmmm...wouldn't be any of the Islamic countries surrounding Israel...they are all peaceful towards the Jewish state.  So says the White House, so it must be true.

I know, it must be one of those right-wing Christian militia groups Rosy O'Donnell always talks about as being just as dangerous, no, even more dangerous than Islam.  Of course, I just needed a sip of Kool-Ade to see the truth.

PA minister: Palestinian unity needed to destroy Israel
A Palestinian Authority minister stated last month that the Palestinians should unite in order to focus on the destruction of Israel.

At an event with the participation of three PA ministers, Minister of Social Affairs Majida Al-Masri called for Palestinian unity and reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas in order "to turn to the struggle for the liberation of Palestine - all of Palestine.'"

Palestinian Media Watch has documented that when the Palestinian Authority uses the expression "all of Palestine," they include all of Israel.

The following is the report on the event in the official PA daily:

"The women of Palestine marked March 8 with a central rally, attended by a group of released female prisoners from the various districts of the West Bank. Participating in the events were Minister for Women's Affairs, Rabiha Dhiab; Minister of Prisoners' Affairs, Issa Karake; Minister of Social Affairs, Majida Al-Masri... and representatives from the territories occupied in 1948
(e.g., Palestinian euphemism for "Israel")...
Al-Masri sharply condemned the Israel Prison Services for its violations against the [hunger striking] prisoner Shalabi... We demand of everyone to push ahead with reconciliation [between Fatah and Hamas] and to end the state of division, so that we will be able to stand against the occupation, to halt its activities against our prisoners, and to turn to the struggle for the liberation of Palestine - all of Palestine.'"

A woman in a burqa and two male accomplices murder 10 in a homicide bombing after a high-speed car chase through Herat Province in Afghanistan.  How is it that so many are misunderstanding the religion of peace?

Woman in burqa and two accomplices kill 10 in suicide attack in Afghanistan following police chase in rush hour

And the bloodshed continues thanks to Islam...

A suicide bomber led police on a chase in the middle of rush-hour traffic before blowing the vehicle up outside a government building in Afghanistan this morning.
The blast outside a government office, in Herat province, has killed at least 10 people and wounded nearly 30 others.
The explosion seemed aimed at killing people waiting at the gate of a district headquarters building, as people were waiting to go inside to see government officials about various business matters.
Two men and a woman wearing a burqa were found dead inside the vehicle, but officials could not say which of the three occupants detonated the explosives.
Raouf Ahmedi, a spokesman for the police commander of the western region of Afghanistan, said police in the area had received a tip that the black four-wheel-drive vehicle was loaded with explosives.
Ahmedi said: 'They were chasing the car and tried to stop it.
'The vehicle then turned toward the district headquarters building and tried to pass the checkpoint, but police stopped them to be searched and asked where they were going.'
Moments later the vehicle exploded, causing a loud boom that could be heard a few miles away.
Ahmedi said 10 people were killed - three policemen who were guarding the district building and seven civilians.
He said twenty-seven others were wounded, including children.

Obama administration says the violence in Nigeria has nothing to do with religion

Willful blindness from Johnnie Carson at the White House (no, really)

From CNSNews April 10 by Elizabeth Harrington

Obama Official After Easter and Christmas Church Bombings in Nigeria: ‘Religion Is Not Driving Extremist Violence’

(CNSNews.com) - Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson said Monday that  “religion is not driving extremist violence” in Nigeria--just one day after a Christian church conducting an Easter service was targeted by a car bombing that left 39 dead.
OK, question; if it is extremist violence, describe the type of extremism driving the violence.  We'll wait...
Similarly, on Christmas Day, the Nigerian Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, attacked a Catholic church in that country, killing more than 40 people.
“I want to take this opportunity to stress one key point and that is that religion is not driving extremist violence either in Jos or northern Nigeria,” Assistant  Secretary of State Carson said Monday at a forum on U.S. policy toward Nigeria held at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C.
“While some seek to inflame Muslim-Christian tensions, Nigeria’s ethnic and religious diversity, like our own in this country, is a source of strength, not weakness,” he added,  "and there are many examples across Nigeria of communities working across religious lines to protect one another.”
And....?
On Easter Sunday a church in Kaduna, Nigeria, was targeted by a suicide bombing that killed 39 and wounded dozens. Though no organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, it is suspected that Boko Haram, the Islamic terrorist organization, was behind it.
As CNSNews.com previously reported, Boko Haram, whose name translated into “Western education is forbidden,” has links to al-Qaeda’s North Africa affiliate, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and has repeatedly vowed to cleanse northern Nigeria of minority Christians, and is responsible for more than 1,000 deaths since mid-2009.
Uh, guys...this is a problem, is it not?  What does the cleansing of Christians remind you of...anything in history?
Carson spoke at length about the terrorist group, saying Boko Haram “capitalizes on popular frustrations with the nation’s leaders,” and “seeks to humiliate and undermine the government and to exploit religious differences in order to create chaos and to make Nigeria ungovernable.”
Boko Haram was responsible for multiple bomb attacks including the Jan. 20 attack in Kano, which killed nearly 200, a Christmas Day attack on a church near the federal capital, Abuja, which cost more than 40 lives, and a car bomb at the United Nations headquarters in the Nigeria capital of Abuja last August.
“Boko Haram’s attacks on churches and mosques are particularly disturbing because they are intended to inflame religious tensions and upset the nation’s social cohesion, although Boko Haram is reviled throughout Nigeria and offers no practical solutions to the country’s problems,” Carson said.

Gaza: 3 executed according to "religious law"

Hamas executes 3 in Gaza, including 'collaborator'

Hamas forces executes Majdi Mikkawi [file]
Ready...aim...Allahu Akbar!!!

Hamas executed three men on Saturday, hanging two convicted murderers and a Gazan found guilty of collaborating with Israel, the Hamas-run ministry of interior said.
It did not name the men and gave few details of the allegations against them, but said one of trio was convicted of kidnapping a boy, raping him and then killing him.
It denounced the man who helped Israel as a "traitor."
The ministry said in a statement the families of the murder victims had refused to offer amnesty to the killers.
The executions were carried out "in accordance with our religion, rulings of the Palestinian law and in preserving the rights of citizens and achieving the security of the community", the statement said.
Since Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, at least 11 prisoners have been executed and more than 30 death sentences have been handed down by the courts, including to numerous people charged with helping the Israeli security forces.
Hamas refuses to recognize Israel and its charter calls for the destruction of the Jewish state.

Child bride in England; not out of the ordinary

This sweet little girl was married off at age 5, similar to Muhammad marrying Aisha at age 6.  Since the behavior of Muhammad is exemplary and to be emulated by all Muslims for all time, the abuse of this 5 year old is perfectly in line with Islamic dogma.

Up to 8,000 girls are subjected to this type of abuse and torture in the UK, but since it is a cultural thing and God forbid saying anything disparaging about another culture, more girls will be abused and plagued with nightmares throughout their lives.  Any moment now feminists and their supporters should be winging their way across the pond to explain to English Muslims how they are getting Islam all wrong.

From The Sun April 8 by Anila Baig

I wed aged FIVE... in the UK

DRESSED in a fancy new outfit, little Samina Shah thought she was getting ready for her birthday party.

Instead she was being married off — having just turned FIVE.
The Islamic ceremony effectively ended her childhood and paved the way for years of abuse.
Just as shockingly, this was not happening in a remote Third World village — but in a large town in the north of England.
Samina has decided to speak out after Britain’s Forced Marriage Unit revealed that last year the 1,468 cases they investigated included another girl of five.
There are thought to be another 6,500 cases that went unreported.
Samina — not her real name as she is too scared to be identified — told The Sun: “I was denied the right of childhood, play and innocence.
“When you are married at the age of five you no longer live like a normal child. I was deprived of my basic human rights.
“I’m genuinely shocked and horrified to hear that another little girl has had to go through this. My heart goes out to that child and anyone who is forced to marry.
“That is why I am sharing my experience, to reach out to those girls and young women. There is hope and light at the end of the tunnel.”
She went on: “I know that such behaviour is contrary to the teachings of Islam and must be therefore outlawed.
“There is no Islamic justification for forced marriage and doing it to a child of that age is not just wrong — it is criminal.”
Samina, now in her early 40s, rebuilt her life to become a successful business entrepreneur.
But she is still haunted by memories of beatings, brutality and repression.
Recalling her childhood wedding day, she said: “There was a lot of activity — a lot of relatives in the house. I was dressed up in an outfit mother-in-law had bought for me.
“My sister told me later that my mother-in-law had said, ‘At last, the beautiful girl belongs to me!’
“I don’t know exactly why I was married off at such a young age, but it was all to do with maintaining traditions and making sure we didn’t question anything.”
Samina was born into a typical Asian family in a close-knit community, keeping to the ways of their remote villages of northern Pakistan.
She was not encouraged in school work and was removed at 13.
Instead she was raised to believe a woman’s place was at home and the more she suffered, the greater the reward in Paradise.
On her 14th birthday a formal wedding ceremony was held, marking the bride’s transition from her parents’ home to the home of the husband.
At six the next morning, terrified for her future, she was bundled on to a plane to Pakistan.
She was told she would return to England with her husband when she reached 16.
She used to dread evenings when she would have to tearfully face the advances of her husband.
The marriage was eventually consummated against her will after she suffered a horrific beating.
After three months it was decided she should live under lock and key back in England until she turned 16.
Forced marriage in Britain comes under civil, not criminal, law. Many victims are sent abroad.
Those at risk can apply for a court order stopping them — or the marriage organisers — from leaving the country. Anyone breaking such an order can be jailed for up to two years for contempt of court.
Victims who do return to the UK find the marriage is not legally recognised — but whoever forced them into marrying cannot be prosecuted.
The Government is currently looking at changing the law.

Southern Sudanese Christians Fear Forced Repatriation

JUBA, South Sudan, April 6 (CDN) — Christians from South Sudan who have until Easter Sunday (April 8) to try to become citizens of Sudan or be deported fear authorities will use the occasion to rid the country of Christianity, church leaders said.

More than 500,000 citizens of southern ethnic origin who have been living in Sudan for decades – some of them born there – will be considered foreigners after Sunday. Human rights organizations have called on Khartoum to grant them more time to either leave or apply for citizenship.

Christian leaders expressed concern that local media such as the daily Al Intibaha newspaper have been stoking hatred against predominantly Christian southern Sudanese, describing them as “cancer cells in the body of Sudan, the land of the Arab and Islam,” and calling on the government to deport them.

“The local media are becoming very hostile toward us who are still in the north,” one Christian told Compass by phone on condition of anonymity.

Gov. Ahmad Abbass of Sennar state in central Sudan vowed to deport southern Sudanese from his state “without regret,” according to Alsahafa, an Arabic daily. Banners have appeared in Khartoum streets calling on the government and Muslims in general to harass and expel southern Sudanese, some of whom are also Muslims.

“Why are they still here? The government should expel them from the country,” one banner asserts.
