The alleged al-Qaeda militant was caught crossing through the Olympic Park five times, breaking a ban imposed by the Home Secretary, The Sunday Telegraph has learned.

The 24 year-old has previously tried to get to Afghanistan, allegedly for terrorist training, and is suspected of fighting for the Somali Islamist group al Shabaab, which has been responsible for thousands of deaths, including those of Western aid workers. He is accused of trying to recruit other Britons to its cause.

A Home Office lawyer warned after his discovery in the Olympic area that the man - known as CF - wanted to “re-engage in terrorism-related activities, either in the UK or Somalia” and is “determined to continue to adhere to his Islamist extremist agenda”.

His detention is the most serious security alert yet to hit the Olympic Park.

It is disclosed today after a week which saw 14 terror-related arrests across Britain, including a white Muslim convert detained over an alleged plan to carry out a major terrorist attack.

The Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, will be protected by the largest peacetime security operation ever seen in Britain when the event begins on July 27.

CF is one of nine suspected risks to national security who are subject to Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures (Tpim) - legal orders which restrict their movements and computer use and who they can meet.

They were introduced to replace control orders, which were abolished by the Coalition after long-running controversy over whether they breached human rights and threatened civil liberties.

CF is being prosecuted for breaking the conditions of his order after he was arrested last month and held in police custody. He challenges the banning order at the High Court on Monday.

He is charged with five separate breaches between April and May of an order specifically banning him from using the London Overground rail route which passes through the centre of the Olympic Park.

Car bomb kills seven, wounds 20 in central Iraq: police
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A bomb in a parked car killed seven people and wounded 20 on Friday when it exploded in the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, police and hospital sources said.

The blast in Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad, killed mainly women in a residential area, the sources said.

"We heard a big explosion and when we arrived at the scene we found a parked car on fire," a police officer said.

"Bodies were scattered everywhere and some houses were destroyed," he said, declining to be named. He said police had begun evacuating the wounded and had cordoned off the area in case of further explosions.

Five of the wounded were in a critical condition, a hospital source said.

Although violence in Iraq has eased since its peak in 2006-2007, last month at least 237 people were killed and 603 wounded in attacks, making it one of the bloodiest months since U.S. troops withdrew at the end of last year.

Sharia should be 'main' source of Libya legislation: NTC

TRIPOLI — Libya's outgoing National Transitional Council said on Thursday that Islamic law (sharia) should be the "main" source of legislation and that this should not be subject to a referendum.

"The Libyan people are attached to Islam, as a religion and legislation," NTC spokesman Saleh Darhoub said, reading from a statement.

"As such the National Transitional Council recommends that the (next) congress make sharia the main source of legislation.

"And this should not be subject to a referendum," he added, speaking to journalists in Tripoli.

He later explained that the decision was made to reassure elements of society fearful of being saddled with a constitution that does not take into account Islamic law, or sharia.

"We are not afraid of holding a referendum on sharia. But we wanted to reassure elements of society who are scared of the referendum," Darhoub said.

Libyans are to vote on Saturday for a General National Congress, which will be tasked with appointing a new government and a constituent authority.

The constitution needs to be approved in a national referendum, under a transition framework laid out by the NTC, which took power when long-time leader Moamer Kadhafi was slain last year.

Some of the key issues to be determined by the constitution are the form of governance, the weight of Islam in state and society, the role of women and the rights of minorities.

Morsy to meet with Haniyeh in August, Maan says

Hamas is in touch with the Egyptian presidential office to set up a meeting between Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy and Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, the Palestinian Maan News Agency reported Thursday.

Maan quoted sources as saying that a meeting will be held next month between Haniyeh and Morsy to discuss conditions in the Gaza Strip.

Mohamed Awad, the Hamas foreign minister and deputy prime minister in Gaza, told Maan that the discussions will focus on the daily lives of Palestinians in the strip and general political issues. He stressed the need to focus on supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums and applying pressure to ease the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Awad expressed the hope that the Rafah border crossing would be treated like any other border crossing and would remain open and running normally.

Egyptian state-run news agency MENA quoted Youssef Rizqa, a political adviser to Haniyeh, as saying that a Hamas delegation will pay a visit to Cairo next Thursday to congratulate Morsy on his victory.

Morsy said in a speech last week that, “Egypt will stand with the Palestinian people in order to get all of their legitimate rights and will work on completing the reconciliation process so that the Palestinian people will be united.”

Unplugged metal detector triggers JFK chaos: sources

These fools are keeping us safe?!?

The TSA’s bungling reached a new low yesterday when a JFK Airport terminal had to be evacuated and hundreds of passengers marched back through security screening all because one dimwitted agent failed to realize his metal detector had been unplugged, sources told The Post.

The stunning error led to hours of delays, two planes called back from the runway and infinite frustration for furious passengers.

“The truth is, this is the failure of the most basic level of diligence,” a law-enforcement source said.

“How can you expect the public to feel confident of the mission of the TSA if they don’t even know if the lights are turned on?"

The chaos at Terminal 7 was caused by screener Alija Abdul Majed, who had manned Lane No. 1 during the morning shift with no idea his metal detector had no juice, sources said.

Amazingly, he failed to realize that alert lights never flashed once as streams of passengers filed through the dead detector, the sources said.

Majed was so clueless that he couldn’t even tell police how long the machine had been shut off or how it happened, the sources said.

“It was simply an unplugged machine — the TSA doing its best,” another source said.

Its best.  Really?

Higher-ups at the Transportation Security Administration finally discovered the security boondoggle at 9:44 a.m. — leaving the Port Authority with no choice but to call for a complete evacuation of the international terminal that is home to British Airways, Cathay Pacific, United Airlines and others.

The extraordinary measure meant that two jumbo jets — including a San Francisco-bound United flight — had to return to the gate so passengers could be rescreened at a metal detector that was actually turned on.

The TSA would not confirm or deny that its detector had been unplugged, releasing a statement saying only that a metal detector suffered a “malfunction.”

Oh I feel so much safer now.

Muslim-only swim time at San Diego YMCA, no one really cares

I see the apathy is at full steam in the land of eternal sunshine.  Muslim women are now free to mingle with other Muslim women for swim time at their local YMCA, but not with anyone else.  I wonder how the YMCA would handle a request by Catholic women to have their own swim time based in their religious beliefs.  Betcha it would fly past the shallow end.  This is not assimilation into American culture, this is distancing from it in order to maintain a distinct and separate culture.  The great melting pot has become a salad bowl where the ingredients mix but do not blend.  Muslims are at the forefront of this separation in order to maintain an air of mystery, and to protect their own against any outside influence.  The dangers of this behavior are obvious, yet no one in power seems to care.

YMCA Offers Women-Only Swim Hours For Muslim Women

Each Saturday, staff at the Copley YMCA in City Heights begin clearing out the pool and locker rooms early. They send their male lifeguards home and a female lifeguard and swim instructor clock on for a special after-hours lesson.

About 15 East African women and girls then file through the back doors for a women-only swim class. The YMCA began offering it this spring after moms and daughters in a group called City Heights Hope told the directors they can’t swim in front of men because they’re Muslim.

“We came here and I was just looking at the water and I was like, ‘Wow, I wish one day we could come and swim here,’” said Miriam Adam, 14.

Adam, whose parents emigrated from Eritrea, said she and the other group members initially asked the YMCA to include women-only services at its new facility, which isn’t scheduled to open until 2014. But the directors said they could start swim classes as quickly as the women could sign up. The class roster was full a month later.

For many of the women and girls, this is the first opportunity they’ve had to learn how to swim. The young girls are outfitted with arm floaties and taught to blow bubbles, while their older sisters and moms grasp Styrofoam barbells and cling to the walls to practice kicking.

“Kids I’ve never seen will walk in and know their way around the pool right away, whereas everybody that comes in will be like, ‘Can we do this? Can we do that? Can I do it already? Can I get in? Can I get in? Can we start the lesson now?’” said YMCA lifeguard Nicole Velasco. “So it’s a lot of fun to see that they really wanted to learn, too, not just get in and splash around.”

Top Iran official: Time has come for Israel, U.S. to vanish from world

The time has come for the disappearance of Israel and the West from the face of the universe, a senior Iranian official was quoted as saying on Thursday, saying that they were the "prime sources of tyranny and gloom."

The comment, by speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani, came after earlier Thursday the head of Iran's nuclear agency said that newly approved EU sanctions against the country's oil industry would not halt the progress of Iran's nuclear program.

Earlier this week, Iran test-fired several long-range ballistic missiles as part of an extensive military drill, with a top officer in Iran's Revolutionary Guards saying that the launch was meant to show to “regional and trans-regional countries seeking adventurism that the Islamic Republic is determined to resist their bullying and will give a crushing and decisive response to any potential act of mischief."

Speaking at a Tehran conference, Larijani was cited by Iran's Press TV as saying that "the time has come for the disappearance of the West and the Zionist regime - which are two dark spots in the present era - from the face of the universe."

“The U.S. and the Zionist regime are the prime sources of tyranny and gloom in the current age. The Muslim world is fed up with the injustice and abuse by these governments,” Larijani added.

However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law.

Woman, two children beheaded in Afghanistan 'honor killing'
A 30-year-old woman and two of her children were beheaded overnight in Afghanistan's east, police said, in what appeared to be the latest in a rapidly growing trend of so-called honor killings.

Police said they suspected the woman Serata's divorced husband of barging into her house in the capital of Ghazni province and murdering her, alongside their eight-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter.

"The children saw the killer take their mother's head off, so he killed them too," a local policeman told Reuters, adding that the attacker had spared Sereta's two-year-old daughter.

Activists say there has been a sharp rise in violent attacks on women in Afghanistan over the past year.

Sudan blames Zionist-American plot for unrest

KHARTOUM (Reuters) -- Sudan accused unnamed "Zionist institutions" on Sunday of fanning anti-government protests as it tries to snuff out disturbances which echo Arab Spring unrest elsewhere.

For two weeks, anti-austerity protesters have been calling for the resignation of the government of President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, one of Africa's longest serving leaders.

Sudan lost three-quarters of its oil revenue after South Sudan gained independence last year, forcing the government to impose cuts that have hit Sudanese who were already grappling with soaring inflation and a weakening currency.

"Zionist institutions inside the United States and elsewhere... are exploiting the latest economic decisions to destabilize the security and political situation," the state-linked Sudanese Media Centre quoted presidential assistant Nafie Ali Nafie as saying.

Nafie said the government had evidence of collusion between rebel groups in Darfur, politicians in arch-foe South Sudan and Zionist institutions in the United States to sabotage Sudan. He did not present the evidence.

Afghan security troops-which one is the next killer?

KABUL, Afghanistan — A member of a highly regarded Afghan police force opened fire on British soldiers during an argument, killing three of them as they left a meeting with local elders in southern Afghanistan, Western and Afghan officials said Monday.

Afghan soldiers and police officers have attacked their American and allied counterparts with increasing frequency in recent years. The assaults, once rare, have become common enough that they are widely referred to here, in shorthand, as“green on blue” attacks.

Officials from the NATO-led coalition blame personal differences, not Taliban infiltration, for most of the violence. Some fear that the distrust sown by such attacks is undermining a pillar of the Western exit strategy: preparing Afghan forces to fight on their own by pairing them closely with coalition troops.

Afghan police officers or soldiers have killed 26 coalition service members this year, compared with 35 in all of 2011, according to the coalition.

FORT HOOD, Texas — A military judge ruled Friday against delaying the trial of the Fort Hood shooting suspect, an Army psychiatrist who remains banned from the courtroom because his beard violates Army regulations.

Maj. Nidal Hasan’s trial will proceed as scheduled, beginning on Aug. 20. Defense attorneys wanted the trial moved to December, saying they needed more time to prepare.

But the judge, Col. Gregory Gross, said the defense already had plenty of time. Prosecutors had indicated they were ready for trial last fall, but the court-martial was set for March and postponed first to June and then August — all at the request of the defense team.

Hasan faces the death penalty if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the 2009 attack.

Gross said Friday that top Army officials had rejected Hasan’s request for a religious exemption — due to his Islamic faith — to the rule banning beards. An appeals court also denied a defense request to overturn the judge’s decision last week to bar Hasan from the courtroom unless he shaves.

Hasan watched Friday’s hearing from a closed-circuit television in a nearby room, as he did during last week’s hearing.

“I could have him held down and have someone shave him, but I’m not prepared to do that at this time,” Gross said.

Masked attackers killed at least 17 people on Sunday in gun and grenade attacks on churches in a Kenyan town used as a base for operations against al-Qaida-linked insurgents in Somalia.

At least 45 people were wounded in the simultaneous attacks on Garissa, in the north of the East African country which has suffered a series of blasts since sending troops into Somalia last October to crush Somalia's al Shabaab militants.

"We have 17 bodies at the mortuary so far," regional medical officer Abdikadir Sheikh told Reuters.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Police said they suspected the attacks could have been the work of al-Shabab sympathizers or bandits, but it was too early to say. Inside Somalia, al Shabaab declined comment.

"The goons were clad in balaclavas," regional deputy police chief Philip Ndolo told Reuters from Garissa.

He said a total of seven attackers hurled grenades inside the Catholic Church and the African Inland Church and then opened fire with guns. They struck the churches, which are two miles apart, at around 10.15 a.m. local time (03:15 a.m. ET).

Two policemen were among the dead.

They were the latest attacks on Christian worshippers in Kenya after two people were killed in grenade blasts in March and April.

This month alone, gunmen opened fire on the congregation inside a church in Borno state, killing one and injuring three; later that same day, a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb next to an evangelical church in Jos that collapsed the entire structure, critically injuring 62; other suicide car bombings killed 18 and injured more than 40 near two churches in Bauchi state.

However, despite the danger, Nigeria's Christians continue to attend services.

“I always sense the fear in the atmosphere during Sunday services," said Pastor Abraham Ekeneh, "but we still don’t relent. We cannot stop attending Sunday services because if we do, it means we have helped them to achieve their objective.”

Exactly.

“If it is proved that the woman was not virgin and sought to get married without telling the man, there is no law that protects her”

This is what billions of dollars and the bringing of democracy to Iraq has come to.  We are back to the dark ages of Islam, where women are expected to be a virgin on their wedding night, and if not there is "no law that protects her."  Where are the Western Muslim apologists and feminists and their angry mobs, demanding an end to this barbaric and degrading procedure, always done at the behest of the insulted husband.  Are they marshaling at the border of Iraq to protest and demand changes?

Iraqi women face court-ordered virginity tests

Iraqi women face court-ordered virginity tests that often show they were virgins until marriage but shame them nonetheless, doctors at an institute that carries out the tests and a lawyer told AFP.

Remaining a virgin until marriage can be an issue of life or death for women in the Middle East, where those who are seen as having dishonored the family by having premarital sex are sometimes killed by male relatives.

An average of several virginity tests are performed per day at the Medical Legal Institute (MLI) in Baghdad, in a small windowless room with blue-tiled walls and a black table with leg stirrups at one end.

Other equipment includes a white scope on a wheeled stand and a bright white light, also on wheels, near the end of the table.

“Most of the cases we received after the first day of marriage,” said Dr. Munjid al-Rezali, the director of the MLI.

“The husband claim that she is not a virgin, and then the family brings her here, through the courts, this all come through the courts, and we examine her,” Rezali said, speaking in English.

“It’s not uncommon, we are seeing a lot,” he added.

The tests include examination of the woman’s hymen, but the man involved may also come under scrutiny.

The man may be tested for impotency, Rezali said, noting that in some cases, a man with erectile dysfunction may pretend the woman was not a virgin to hide his shame.

What, no Viagra in Iraq?

The results of the tests go directly to the courts, and are not given by the MLI to the parties involved, Rezali said.

“They think that during the marriage, (the) first day of marriage, there should be blood... they think if there is no blood, there is no virginity,” said Dr. Sami Dawood, a forensic doctor at the MLI who has been involved in the tests.

This belief, he said, indicates that sex education and knowledge is “very poor.”

Iran cleric issues fatwa against dogs

Don't hurt me, Muhammad...

An Iranian cleric Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani issued a fatwa against "buying, selling and keeping decorative dogs," the Jomhouri Eslami newspaper reported.

Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani said some people who are tricked by or are partial to foreigners are trying to change society's religious appearance into one like that of "Western deceivers.

"One of their methods, writes the cleric, is the buying, selling and keeping of decorative dogs and bringing them into the country, all of which are religiously prohibited ."

Golpaygani asked the police, judiciary and even private citizens who he calls "people of honor" to prevent the continuation of such behavior.

More jihad in Dearbornistan; Muslim tries to run down Christians, charged with attempted murder

The amazing thing is not that a Muslim tried to kill Christians, but that the media, both in Michigan and nationally did not report this story.  We know that if a avowed Christian tried to kill 9 Muslims we would have a weeks worth of news on how evil Christians are, how they are trying to take over the country and impose Christian theology on the constitution.  Instead, when it comes to Muslims and Islam regarding jihad against non-Muslims we hear almost nothing, and what we do hear always portrays Muslims and Islam as a victim of hatred and demonization.  The example below shows all too clearly this dichotomy and points out how we are victims of Islamic doctrine.

Dearborn Muslim Charged with Nine Counts of Attempted Murder for Trying to Kill Street Preachers Outside the Islamic Center of America

I heard about this when I was still in Michigan, but I didn't want to post anything until I had some documentation. I waited for the Detroit Free Press and other local media to report the story, but I gave up after more than a week of searching. Fortunately, Gadi Adelman (GA) interviewed Ruben Israel (RI) and posted the disturbing news over at Front Page Magazine.

On Sunday, June 17th, 2012, Ruben Israel's group of street preachers went to the Islamic Center of America (the same mosque I had visited two days earlier). While the group was preaching, a Muslim emerged from the mosque, got into his SUV, and tried to run them over. Mosque security naturally blamed the preachers for provoking him.

Everyone should take note here. Ruben Israel's presence at the Dearborn Arab Festival was national news. The media jumped at the chance to show images of intolerant Christians harassing Muslims (check out Niraj Warikoo's coverage over at the Detroit Free Press). While I have no objections to calling attention to (and criticizing) the actions of Ruben Israel and his associates, we should all be horrified to realize that nine counts of attempted murder by a Muslim targeting Christians isn't even considered newsworthy by local media in Michigan.

Here's an excerpt from Adelman's interview:

GA: Now give me the exclusive; what happened on Sunday?

RI: We were at the Arab fest on Friday. On Sunday we went to the mosque in Dearborn.

GA: Were you on mosque property or out on the side walk?

RI: What mosque doesn’t have a sidewalk, but we stood by the street where the side walk would be. Of course the Dearborn Police showed up instantly. We were able to use our megaphone. We were able to fly our banners and there was no problem. The officers said everything was fine and we’re doing good. There were 2 squad cars and they flanked us just to make sure we were safe. Some of the Muslims came out and were screaming at us and we yelled back and forth and we did not go on their property, and according to police it was fine.

Unfortunately, one of the Muslims got in his SUV, drove up over the hill, accelerated and came right at us where we were standing. This guy came directly at us and we had to jump out of the way and he came screaming by us. Both of the police cars stopped him, pulled him out and cuffed him and he showed no remorse. The police actually have it on video because both police cars had there dash cameras on, so it’s not like it’s my word against his.

Then mosque security came out and said that they knew this guy and that we provoked him and the Dearborn Police officer yelled at the security guard and told him if he didn’t back off he would also be arrested for hindering a police investigation.

GA: Did the guy in the SUV pull over or was he forced to?

RI: They had to block him in. Once he was on the street they were headed his way and he was blocked in. They threw him against the car, cuffed him, frisked him, checked his car and again. It’s not like we can make this up. He is now officially charged with 9 counts of attempted murder.

GA: This never hit the news, not even in Dearborn?

RI: No, of course not, but if I had attempted to run down a Muslim that would be the head news on CNN, CBS, NBC...
