UN statement on women's rights condemned by Muslim Brotherhood

"A woman needs to be confined within a framework that is controlled by the man of the house...if a wife were beaten by her husband (per Quran 4-34)...she shares 30 percent or 40 percent of the fault..."  I am sure women's rights groups are winging their way to Egypt right now, to explain how the MB has Islam completely wrong.

This is the same group that Obama is sending aid and weapons to.

Muslim Brotherhood’s Statement on Women Stirs Liberals’ Fears

CAIRO — During its decades as an underground Islamist movement, the Muslim Brotherhood has long preached that Islam required women to obey their husbands in all matters.
“A woman needs to be confined within a framework that is controlled by the man of the house,” Osama Yehia Abu Salama, a Brotherhood family expert, said of the group’s general approach, speaking in a recent seminar for women training to become marriage counselors. Even if a wife were beaten by her husband, he advised, “Show her how she had a role in what happened to her.”

“If he is to blame,” Mr. Abu Salama added, “she shares 30 percent or 40 percent of the fault.”

Now, with a leader of the Brotherhood’s political arm in Egypt’s presidential palace and its members dominating Parliament, some deeply patriarchal views the organization has long taught its members are spilling into public view. The Brotherhood’s strident statements are reinforcing fears among many Egyptian liberals about the potential consequences of the group’s rise to power and creating new awkwardness for PresidentMohamed Morsi as he presents himself as a new kind of moderate, Western-friendly Islamist.

In a statement Wednesday on a proposed United Nations declaration to condemn violence against women, the Brotherhood issued a list of objections, which formally laid out its views on women for the first time since it came to power.

In its statement, the Brotherhood said that wives should not have the right to file legal complaints against their husbands for rape, and husbands should not be subject to the punishments meted out for the rape of a stranger.

A husband must have “guardianship” over his wife, not an equal “partnership” with her, the group declared. Daughters should not have the same inheritance rights as sons. Nor should the law cancel “the need for a husband’s consent in matters like travel, work or use of contraception” — a reform in traditional Islamic family law that was enacted under former President Hosni Mubarak and credited to his wife, Suzanne.

The statement appeared in many ways to reflect the Brotherhood’s longstanding doctrine, still discussed in classes like Mr. Abu Salama’s and in the group’s women’s forums. Feminists said its statement also may reflect the views of most women in Egypt’s conservative, traditionalist culture.

In an interview on Thursday, Pakinam El-Sharkawy, President Morsi’s political adviser and Egypt’s representative last week at the United Nations commission, sought to distance the Morsi administration from the Brotherhood’s statement.

The Brotherhood, she emphasized, does not speak for the president; he has resigned from the Brotherhood but remains a member of its political party. “Does any statement issued by any political party or group represent the presidency?” she asked. “It’s not the presidency’s institution, and it’s not an official entity.”

The Egyptian government, she said, “is working with all its powers and policies to stop all forms of violence against women.”

Abbas says Hamas wants peace with Israel

And yet, those pesky flying pigs are nowhere to be seen.  It is a modis operandi that Hamas and their ilk continuously claim they want peace while simultaneously preparing for, and waging war against Israel. The Hamas Charter calls for the death of the Jews and the destruction of Israel, and it has never been discounted or nullified.  Article 13 of the charter spells out exactly why there will never be peace except through jihad; "Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement."  As long as our dear leaders refuse to believe what our enemies actually say, we will continue to suffer the spiral of death and destruction.

Abbas says Hamas is not terrorist group

MOSCOW, March 17 (UPI) -- Hamas is committed to peaceful resistance and there is no need to label it a terrorist organization, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said.

In an exclusive weekend interview with Russia Today, the Palestinian president responded to reports that the European Union is considering taking Hamas off the list of terrorist organizations.

"Chances are quite high that the Hamas government may be recognized as legitimate. If Hamas is committed to the cease-fire and if it openly pledges to stick to the peaceful popular resistance, I don't see much difference between their policy and ours. In this case, there is no need to label them as a terrorist organization," Abbas said.

Afghan clerics warn US on Karzai demands

Escalating the rift in U.S.-Afghan relations, Afghan clerics warned Saturday that Americans will be treated as invaders unless Washington heeds President Hamid Karzai's latest demands.
"Allah has never allowed Muslims to accept the sovereignty and rule of the infidels," the National Ulema Council said in a statement.
Karzai clashed with the U.S. in recent weeks over several issues that he views as disrespect for Afghan sovereignty, such as the American failure to comply with his deadlines to withdraw Special Operations Forces from the province of Wardak and to hand over Afghan detainees at the U.S.-run Bagram detention facility.
The relationship suffered a blow last Sunday, when Karzai said that the Taliban were "in the service of America," working to prolong foreign military presence. The top coalition commander, U.S. Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, in response put his forces on heightened alert, warning in an advisory that Karzai's "inflammatory" rhetoric could spur attacks on American troops, officials said.
Karzai's demands on Bagram, Wardak, and other issues "needed to protect the sovereignty and independence of our own country are the voice of the Muslim Afghan nation," the statement added.
Failure to heed these demands, the Ulema Council warned, will be interpreted as "the occupation" of Afghanistan and Americans will be responsible for the consequences.

Intellectual dishonesty on full display in San Francisco

KQED radio talkshow host Michael Krasny had a discussion recently on the MUNI bus ads placed by Pamela Geller and the AFDI.  The ads are in response to a bus ad campaign by Hamas-linked CAIR which tells the viewers that jihad is meeting new people, working out and struggling to be the best one can be.  The AFDI ads copied the design, but the messages were from people such as bin-Laden, the Times Square bomber, the Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan and they quote those people, using their words to point out that jihad is not just working out, but also working on killing the infidel and destroying the West.  It's called context and for that she has been vilified and demonized by those who you would think are smarter than how they present themselves.

The guests were Geller, VP of the SF Board of Supervisors David Chiu and local Muslim activist Jess Ghannam, professor of clinical psychiatry and global health at UCSF.  The discussion was supposed to be on the reasons behind the ads and a spirited narrative on free speech and the validity of these kinds of ads.  Instead, we get to hear almost 30 minutes of ad hominum attacks, character smears and a host of accusations, falling just short of accusing Geller of eating babies.  Not once did either Ghannam or Chiu (mostly Ghannam) address the quotes used, jihad as practiced by those in the ads or any aspect of how Islamic texts are used to justify jihad behavior.  They know that they cannot dispute, on theological grounds what jihadists say, therefore the only path they can take to quiet the truth-tellers is attack the messenger and ignore the message.

This is the tactic of Islam, in cahoots with leftists, apologists and their water-carriers; eliminating the ability of you and me to question Islam, Muslims or anything deemed insulting or demeaning.  Question the meaning of jihad using Islamic tenets and you will be shouted down, marginalized and demonized, ask why Muslims kill in the name of Muhammad and Allah and you will be called Islamophobic, point out Muhammad married a 6 year old and consummated the marriage at age 9 and you are a racist, or worse.  Ghannam and Chiu refuse to see anything but hatred and a call to violence by Geller's ads, and have no voice to condemn the ideology which drives the murders of non-Muslims in the name of jihad.  Where is the outrage?  It is directed at the one who points out the outrage, not those who perpetrate the outrage.  A moral emptiness that should not be allowed to have credible weight in a sane world, but we live in a world dripping with political correctness.

Muslims are the new "Negro" and as such deserve special treatment.  That treatment includes silencing anyone who dares question this new designation.  Pamela Geller took many slings and arrows but ultimately ruled the day.  Presenting fact against innuendo the listener did get to hear the truth, and hear how shallow and petty those who support jihad really are.

These are the enemies we are up against, and they are strong and determined to silence any opposition. Resistance is required if the truth is to be heard.  There is no fear, only determination to win the war against the pure and fundamental ideology that is Islam.

In the battle between animal and man, I usually root for the animal.  The running of the bulls in Pamplona is a chance for me to cheer for a backside goring, while rodeos have me hoping for a hoof to the groin.  As long as the animal has a better than average chance of injuring its rider then I say go right ahead.  We humans abuse animals all the time, so a little payback should be applauded.  In the case of using dead animals for sport, that just shows a lack of respect for what God gave us, and proves nothing of manhood and everything of arrogance.

The goat is headless, and the goal is to ride around, shouting, trying to snatch the carcass from your opponent and take it to the little circle at the end of the field.  Muhammad would be so proud.  While the "game" was in progress a jihadist managed to detonate his explosives, murdering 10 and wounding many, so I guess the goat got the better end of the stick.

Suicide bomber kills 10 spectators at Afghan goat polo game

(Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up during a traditional Afghan game of buzkashi, a game of horse polo played with a dead goat, killing at least 10 spectators in the northern province of Kunduz on Wednesday, the local governor's office said.

Among those killed were the district police chief who is the brother of Afghanistan's House Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, a spokesman for the Kunduz governor said. Two other family members were also killed.

At least 10 people were wounded when the attacker strapped with explosives, who was in the crowd, struck during the game being played in front of 3,000 spectators, the spokesman said.

For years after the Taliban were overthrown in 2001, northernAfghanistan was largely free of insurgent violence but security has been deteriorating over the past two years.

Ten police officers, including the local counter-terrorism chief, were killed in a suicide bombing in Kunduz in late January.

Buzkashi, or "goat grabbing", is the national sport of Afghanistan, and involves two teams who try to accumulate points by propelling a headless goat carcass to the scoring area.

Daily Mail news in Britain outraged over anti-jihad ads in NYC, no outrage over the 20,000+ jihad killings since 9/11

The moral vacuum which the Daily Mail exists in is on full display here.  They fulminate over ads showing what some Muslims say about jihad, yet are silent when other jihadists practice what  those in the ads are doing.  It is unimaginable that the connection is lost, but there it is, and to try to dispute it with those on the left just makes their hair hurt.  As Pamela Geller has said, truth is the new hate speech.

Daily Fail: UK's Daily Mail retails Islamic supremacist lies about AFDI's jihad truth campaign

"'Killing Jews is worship that brings us closer to Allah': Outrage over 'racist' ad campaign launched in San Francisco."

Several anti-Islamic ads featuring the photographs and quotes of Osama bin Laden, the Times Square Bomber, and the alleged Fort Hood shooter have caused outrage in San Francisco after their release today.

The ads, which will run for the next month, are featured on 10 buses in the Bay Area and have caused a stir in the community, sparking a fierce debate between free speech and hate speech.

The mainstream media, Leftists and Islamic supremacists really have to tie themselves into knots to explain why this campaign is "hate speech." After all, they profess to oppose the violent jihadis depicted in our ads. So what's the problem? If they really opposed them, they would be standing with us. The fact that they are not doing so is extremely revealing.

The ads were paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative. One of the spots contains a quote attributed to Hamas, the militant Islamic group, and reads: ‘Killing Jews is worship that brings us closer to Allah.’

You have to wonder who, if anyone did any kind of vetting on Kifah Mustapha, or if they just took his word that the resume handed in was truthful and complete.  It calls into question what other vetting mistakes may have have allowed jihadists into law enforcement.

Illinois Police: Terror Ties Cost Imam Chaplain Post

Court papers filed in an Illinois federal civil lawsuit make it clear that a Hamas-supporting imam would have been a state police-sanctioned chaplain in 2010 if not for disclosures made by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT).

Attorneys for the Illinois State Police (ISP) have asked a federal judge to grant their clients' motion for summary judgment, effectively ending a lawsuit brought by ImamKifah Mustapha. Mustapha cleared an initial background check to the ISP's first Muslim chaplain in late 2009.

In his application, he failed to disclose his work as fundraiser for the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development. The foundation was convicted a year earlier of illegally routing millions of dollars to Hamas. The IPT reported on Mustapha's documented connections to the Holy Land Foundation in January 2010, after he received a state identification card.

The ISP received an e-mail alerting it to the IPT report a day later, a legal memorandum filed with the motion Thursday said. The state police "were previously unaware of Plaintiff‟s association with HLF, as it was omitted from his resume," the memo said. A second background check resulted in Mustapha's invitation to be a chaplain rescinded. He sued, claiming violations of his 1st and 14th Amendment rights.

The suit should not be allowed to continue because Mustapha was never deprived of pay or benefits, something required by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which covers workplace discrimination, state lawyers wrote. In addition, Mustapha's attorneys have not shown evidence of actual discrimination. All the pending chaplain candidates went through additional background screening, but they all were cleared.

Ahmed Rehab, head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' (CAIR) Chicago chapter, tried to deflect attention away from Mustapha, telling a television reporter that the state police were "kowtowing to articles online published by notorious anti-Muslims who have been in the business of smearing Muslim activists leaders and Imams for the longest time."

But there's a funny thing about court records. They show what they show no matter who finds them. When the state police looked, they found exactly what the IPT reported.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood says UN document on violence against women violates Islamic rules

CAIRO — Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood sharply criticized an anticipated U.N. document on combatting violence against women, saying on Wednesday that it was “deceitful,” clashed with Islamic principles and undermined family values.

The text of the document has not been published because negotiations are continuing, regarding how to address sexual violence and rights of women to control their sexuality as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Diplomats and observers tracking the debate are optimistic of agreement before the two-week meeting of the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women wraps up Friday in New York. One participant said Egypt is seeking to introduce an opt-out clause to allow each country to implement the document according to its own traditions.

According to the Brotherhood, which has emerged as the most powerful political faction in Egypt since the 2011 uprising, the draft under discussion advocates sexual freedoms for women and the right to abortion “under the guise of sexual and reproductive rights.”

In its strongly worded statement, the Brotherhood also decried the document’s defense of homosexual rights, which are not recognized in Islam, and the equating between children born in and out of wedlock.

It said the title of the document addressing violence is “deceitful.”

“It contains articles that clash with Islamic principles and its basics mentioned in the Quran (Islam’s holy book) and in Islamic traditions,” the Brotherhood statement said. “It eliminates Islamic values, and seeks to destroy the family ... which would lead to social disintegration.”

Hamas: ‘Declaration Of War’ If Obama Visits Temple Mount

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Hamas is warning that if President Obama visits the Temple Mount it would be a “declaration of war” against the Islamic world.

Israel National News reports the terror group made the threat during a protest march at the religious site following riots on Friday.

Mushir al-Masri, a Hamas spokesman, called for a third intifada if Obama visits the contested religious site in Jerusalem’s Old City between Israelis and Muslims.

Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich believes the warning will lead to violence flaring up in the region ahead of the president’s visit.

“The Palestinians have not said the final word yet and we expect that there will be attempts to take advantage of the upcomingevents, like the visit by Barack Obama, in order to continue the violence,” Aharonovich told Israel National News.

White House officials have said Obama doesn’t plan on visiting the Temple Mount during his trip.
Both Israelis and Muslims have claimed sovereignty over the Temple Mount since Israel liberated the site during the 1967 Six-Day War. Israel left the Waqf in charge of the compound.

Obama met with about 10 leaders of Arab American groups on Monday, encouraging the president to deliver a message of hope to the Palestinian people.

The message of hope that Obama should deliver would include admitting the creation of a Palestinian people and state is a lie, and that it is the Arab world that has the refugees in a chokehold, and once they shake off Hamas and rid the region of Hizballah and Fatah as well as the PA we will make a homeland for the refugees where it should have been all along; most of Jordan and part of S/W Syria.

Amazing that an appointee to a high cabinet post would not answer the question.  Four times nominee Perez refused to say that blasphemy laws, and the concurrent diminishing of the first amendment to free speech would not be considered as law in the future.  Welcome to the new world, where black is white, up is down and wrong is right.  Our dear leader nominates someone who will not stand firmly by the right of free speech, the same right which gives Perez the ability to shun the very same amendment.

Obama to Nominate Sharia Supporter, Illegal Immigrant Advocate as Labor Secretary

President Obama reportedly intends to nominate in-your-face radical leftist lawyer Thomas Perez as his next Secretary of Labor.

Now an assistant attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice, Perez is a former top aide to the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and possibly a perjurer.

Perez led the Obama administration's assault on voter ID laws last year. As John Fund and Hans von Spakovsky report in Who's Counting, as a member of the Montgomery County, Md., Council in 2003 he also tried to force governments to accept fraud-prone matricula consular ID cards issued by Mexican consular offices. He was a board member of Casa de Maryland, an advocacy group for illegal aliens funded by George Soros and the recently deceased Hugo Chavez.

Perez is apparently in favor of Saudi-style anti-blasphemy laws. In Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries offenders can be condemned to death merely for insulting Islam.

Amazingly, at a congressional hearing last year, Perez pointedly declined to rule out bringing such laws to the United States. At the July 27, 2012, meeting of the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on the Constitution, Perez refused to say whether he would uphold the religious speech protections in the First Amendment in the future.

"Will you tell us ... that this administration's Department of Justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that criminalizes speech against any religion?" Congressman Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) asked four times to no avail.
Perez, like so many Obama administration officials, believes that America is a seething hotbed of "Islamophobia," filled with ignorant racist rubes who irrationally fear the Muslim religion. He has worked with hardcore Islamist groups such as the terrorist-linked Islamic Society of North America and applauded Islamists for lobbying against airline security measures.

He played a major role in enacting the Church Arson Prevention Act, legislation based on the false premise that black churches were being targeted with disproportionate frequency by arsonists.

Perez, now nominally the nation's top civil rights enforcer at the Department of Justice, has an appalling track record at the DOJ and myriad unsavory associations.

He has targeted Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio, for legal harassment because he doesn't like Arpaio's tough-on-crime approach, especially with respect to illegal aliens.

Under Perez, the DOJ has refused to prosecute hate crimes committed against white Americans. He was reportedly instrumental in the Justice Department's dismissal of a case involving two Philadelphia-based members of the New Black Panther Party who intimidated white voters on Election Day 2008.

Obviously Perez champions the "little" guy with no regard to context or the other side of the argument.  He must also believe that Muslims are the new "negro" and thus in need of protections that discriminate against those he sees as the "master'

Detainees wake up each morning in a room equipped with a private lavatory, sink and toilet paper before dressing in the camp's standard issue clothing, laid out neatly on their bed.

At mealtimes detainees can choose, depending on their dietary requirements, from a selection of vegetarian or fish dishes - with lemons to drizzle - with vegetables on the side and a juice to wash it all down.

For those who eat meat, halal beef is often on offer at lunch and dinnertime with a similar selection of side dishes.
To relax, prisoners can visit the camp's in-house library, which contains a host of books, in Arabic and English, Hollywood blockbuster DVDs and magazines.
Guantanamo Bay has long been a subject of controversy in the United States and around the world and the Obama administration made it a policy pledge to shut the prison camp on his first full day in office in January 2009.

Since then, however, he has been blocked by Congress from doing so and the 166 inmates there have been left in legal limbo, despite the president ruling out sending any more terror suspects to Guantanamo.The Joint Task Force Guantamano is responsible for housing and feeding prisoners who have been captured in the war in Afghanistan and elsewhere since the September 11, attacks in 2001.

2 men arrested for exporting computers to Iran

Federal authorities say two North Texas men have been arrested for illegally exporting about $12 million worth of computers to Iran.

They say the computers were shipped over seven years through the city-state of Dubai to Iran, in violation of U.S. government sanctions against the Mideast country.
Borna Faizy of Frisco and Touraj Ghavidel of Plano, owners of Signal Microsystems in Addison, were arrested Thursday. They entered pleas of not guilty in federal court and were released on bond.

Investigators say the 42-year-old Faizy and 44-year-old Ghavidel conspired to ship computers and various parts through Dubai to hide the final destination.

They face a variety of charges that include conspiracy to illegally export to Iran.

Each charge carries a penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Blasphemy accusation: Hundreds of Christians in Lahore forced to flee

Lahore - A mob of almost 3,000 people, forced a Christian community to flee for their lives on Friday, leaving behind their houses and possessions.

This occurred in the Badami Bagh area, when one of the Christians was accused of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The charged group gathered around Joseph Colony on Noor Road, led by Shafiq Ahmed, who was in search of the accused Savan, alias Bubby. The mob attacked Savan’s house, partially burnt it and pelted it with stones. Other houses in the locality – home to about 150 Christian families – were also attacked. Many residents, including women and children, hastily fled to save themselves.

Savan could not be found. However, his father was caught and badly beaten. The vehicle of a pastor, who reached the area to inquire about the incident, was also damaged.

The episode began at 1 pm in the afternoon and did not conclude till the evening, when a large number of police personnel finally reached the spot and averted further damage.

The police placated the mob by registering an FIR under section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code (death sentence) against Savan and ensuring that he would be given into their custody to decide his fate. They also took Chaman Masih into custody.

Despite all this, the protesters continued to claim that they would not let the families return until Savan’s arrest.

Dhimmi Kerry thinks throwing more money at the new democratic government of Egypt will solve everything...again.  After all, it is the Obama administration that claims it is poverty that causes jihad, so why not continue down the same pot-holed biway and hope someone has patched the worst ones.

Congress blocked Kerry from offering more aid to Egypt

Secretary of State John Kerry had hoped to offer considerably more aid to Egypt than the $250 million he announced during his trip to Cairo but was blocked by Congress, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-Calif.) said.

“This is not the aid package that the administration wanted to announce,” Royce told The Hill. The administration wanted to release a “larger sum,” but bowed to the wishes of Royce's committee as well as congressional appropriators, he said.
Royce wouldn't say how much Kerry had hoped to announce, but the State Department has been pressing Congress to greenlight $450 million in direct aid since last fall.

“Our approach is not the full-throttle administration approach of delivering all the aid that they wanted to deliver, but rather a measured approach of tying tranches to results as it pertains to the peace treaty with Israel, to cooperation with respect to smuggling [into Gaza] and with respect to economic reforms to guarantee civil rights and the rule of law within Egypt,” he said. “That's the pressure that we're applying.”

Kerry announced the new aid package last Sunday during a stop in Cairo as part of his first trip overseas. The money includes $190 million in budgetary support that's part of the $1 billion in debt relief President Obama pledged in 2011, along with $60 million for an enterprise fund.

Oue dear leaders keep telling us we are broke.  Remember this story the next time the Feds ask you to tighten your belt just a little more.

The aid, Kerry said, was a “good-faith effort to spur reform and help the Egyptian people at this difficult time.”

Afghanistan; Karzai says US and Taliban are in cahoots

And the sky is pink while angels fart gold bars.  It is long past time we left Afghanistan, we never had a plan and knew not what we were really doing there.  Karzai keeps insulting us, his police forces are murdering our soldiers in green on blue attacks and it is the Taliban who are wielding more power, not American forces.  No more deaths, leave Afghanistan now.

Afghan leader Hamid Karzai says US, Taliban are colluding

Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday accused the Taliban and the US of working in concert to convince Afghans that violence will worsen if most foreign troops leave as planned by the end of next year.

Karzai said two suicide bombings that killed 19 people on Saturday — one outside the Afghan Defence Ministry and the other near a police checkpoint in eastern Khost province — show the insurgent group is conducting attacks to help show that international forces will still be needed to keep the peace after their current combat mission ends next year.

“The explosions in Kabul and Khost yesterday showed that they are at the service of America and at the service of this phrase: next year. They are trying to frighten us into thinking that if the foreigners are not in Afghanistan, we would be facing these sorts of incidents,” he said during a nationally televised speech about the state of Afghan women.

There was no immediate response from the US-led military coalition, which is gradually handing over responsibility for securing the country to Afghan forces.
Karzai is known for making incendiary comments in his public speeches, a move that is often attributed to him trying to appeal to those who sympathise with the Taliban or as a way to gain leverage when he feels his international allies are ignoring his country’s sovereignty. In previous speeches he has threatened to join the Taliban and called his Nato allies occupiers who want to plunder Afghanistan’s resources.

His latest remarks come as his government is negotiating a pact with the US for the long-term presence of American forces in Afghanistan and just days after an agreement to transfer the US prison outside of Kabul to Afghan authority fell through. His comments also came while US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel is making his first visit to Afghanistan since becoming the Pentagon chief.

Karzai said in his speech that any foreign powers that want to keep troops in Afghanistan need to do so under conditions set forward by Afghanistan.

“We will tell them where we need them, and under which conditions. They must respect our laws. They must respect the national sovereignty of our country and must respect all our customs..."

Sharia and the word of Muhammad.  Wonderful parameters to abide by, made more difficult by the fact that infidels are not allowed to use Islamic customs, rules or laws.  How can one respect that which rejects those who follow a different G-d?

Egypt; 9 and 10 year old boys accused of desecrating the Qur'an found guilty and then quietly released

Trying to appease both sides; the hardliners who demanded a conviction for urinating on pages of an (alleged) Qur'an and those who wanted the boys to be released as they could not read and could not identify any writing, much less Arabic from the Qur'an.  International pressure helped, but the release of the boys does not mean this will not happen again.

Two Egyptian Boys Convicted of Desecrating Koran, but Released

CAIRO, Egypt (Morning Star News) – A court in Egypt has quietly found two Coptic Christian boys guilty of “showing contempt for Islam” but only remanded them to the custody of their parents, an attorney for one of the children said.

In a case of alleged blasphemy that inflamed passions in provincial Egypt, a judge in Beni Suef, 62 miles south of Cairo, ruled the two boys guilty of desecrating pages of the Koran in spite of conflicting statements by the accuser and doubts about the functionally illiterate boys’ capacity to identify Koranic verses, attorney Karam Ghoubrial said.

The judge cited the boys’ age in the light sentence; they were 9 and 10 at the time of the Sept. 30 incident. By issuing a guilty verdict in near secrecy on Feb. 4 – the ruling came to light only the past week – and declining to hand down prison time or a fine, the judge seems to have averted foreign criticism while quelling the anger of Muslim villagers.
The same day the ruling was issued, the boys’ lawyers appealed on grounds that the accuser’s testimony contradicted statements he made to law enforcement officers. On Feb. 24, the court declined to hear the appeal, stating that is was unnecessary, and allowed the guilty verdict to stand.
Nabil Farag and Mina Rizq (previously misidentified as Nabil Naji Rizq and Mina Atallah) were rummaging through a trash pile in Ezbat Marco in Beni Suef Province when they supposedly desecrated pieces of paper containing verses from the Koran, according to the father of Mina Rizq. He said the boys are innocent.
“Our village is on Bahar Mousa Canal, and there is a part where women dump rubbish, and children go to look for some nails or metal things to sell,” Nady Rizq told Morning Star News. 

“While they were playing in the rubbish, a man called Ibrahim Mohammed Ali went to look and saw a few pieces of papers with dirt on them and thought that the boys peed on it and tore the Koran, but they didn’t.”
Rizq said Ali took the boys to a church and interrupted the priest during a service to announce the accusation. The priest allegedly slapped one of the boys, according to attorney Ghoubrial, and demanded to know what they did. The boys said they hadn’t done anything wrong.
That evening, Ali reported the incident to local police, and the boys were taken into custody that day.

Obama to visit Israel, will demand timetable of West Bank withdrawal

With jihadists in the White House and Brennan as the head of the CIA and Hagel as SecDef, the demand of Israel to a timed pullout of the West Bank is the continuing attempt of the Obama administration to throw Israel under the bus permanently.  More Islamic supporters/Israel haters means an easier time of making Israel pay for its crimes, as the WH sees it.  It should be plain for all to see now that Obama has no love for Israel and is doing what he can to support those who want Israel to disappear.

Obama plans to extract timetable for Israeli pullout from West Bank

JERUSALEM — U.S. President Barack Obama has demanded a timetable for an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank.

Israeli sources said Obama, scheduled to arrive in Israel on March 20, wants a detailed Israeli withdrawal plan from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the president’s visit. The sources said the Israeli plan would be considered in what could be an imminent U.S. initiative to establish a Palestinian state in the West Bank in 2014.

“Obama has made it clear to Netanyahu that his visit is not about photo-ops, but the business of Iran and a Palestinian state,” a source said. “The implication is that if Israel won’t give him something he can work with, then he’ll act on his own.”

8 killed in northeast Nigeria extremist attack

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — Authorities say an attack by the radical Islamic extremist network Boko Haram in northeast Nigeria has killed eight people.

The attack Monday night in Gwoza, a village in northeastern Borno state, saw fighters arrive in two trucks and open fire.

A security official later told The Associated Press that the Boko Haram gunmen killed seven civilians and a police inspector. The official spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak publicly with journalists.

Gwoza resident Umaru Yahuza said the fighting targeted a bank and the police station in the village.

Boko Haram is waging a guerrilla campaign of shootings and bombings across northern Nigeria. The nation's weak central government has been unable to stop the attacks, despite deploying more police and soldiers.

Ft. Hood jihadist may plead guilty

The end of an "hair-a" coming?

Nidal Hasan, aka "The Beard"  could tell us, in detail about the jihad shooting and plead guilty.  I have to wonder if it was the beard, which Hasan said he was required to grow being a pious Muslim that changed his mind.  Let's hope he does plead out and the end of this show trial can finally be put behind us, and the families of the dead can move on.

Nidal Hassan, Ft. Hood Shooting Suspect, May Plead Guilty And Describe Attack

FORT HOOD, Texas — More than three years after the deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood, an Army psychiatrist may soon describe details of the terrifying attack for the first time, if he's allowed to plead guilty to lesser charges.

Maj. Nidal Hasan would be required to describe his actions and answer questions about the Nov. 5, 2009, attack on the Texas Army post if the judge allows him to plead guilty to the lesser charges, as his attorneys have said he wants to do.

Any plea, which could happen at the next hearing in March, won't stop the much-anticipated court-martial set to begin May 29. He faces the death penalty or life in prison without parole if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder.

Under military law, a judge can't accept a guilty plea for charges that carry the death penalty. Hasan's lawyers have said he is ready to plead guilty to charges of unpremeditated murder, which don't carry a possible death sentence, as well as the 32 attempted premeditated murder charges he faces.

If the judge, Col. Tara Osborn, allows him to plead guilty, she will hold an inquiry in which Hasan must discuss the attack. If he says anything that isn't consistent with what happened or indicates he isn't truly acknowledging his guilt, the judge would stop the hearing and not accept his guilty plea, according to military law experts. He is not required to apologize or say that he is remorseful.

Iranian Citizen and U.S. Citizen Residing in Louisville Sentenced in Plot to Export Aircraft and Aircraft Parts to Iran

LOUISVILLE, KY—David J. Hale, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky; Lisa Monaco, Assistant Attorney General for National Security; and Perrye Turner, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Louisville Division, announced the sentencings today of two men to charges related to unlawful export of aircraft and aircraft parts from the United States to Iran. One of the defendants, Hamid Asefi, age 67, is a citizen and resident of the Republic of Iran. The other, Behzad Karimian, also known as “Tony” Karimian, age 52, is a United States citizen living in Louisville, Kentucky, who holds a valid Iranian passport and is employed as a Mesaba Airlines Pilot. Asefi was sentenced to 23 months in prison, and Karimian was sentenced to 46 months in prison by Chief Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. in United States District Court. The defendants pleaded guilty in Louisville before Magistrate Judge James D. Moyer on December 3, 2012. The two-count indictment was returned by a federal grand jury meeting in Louisville on August 2, 2012, and unsealed prior to their change of pleas hearings.

Hamid Asefi and Behzad Karimian were both charged with conspiracy to violate and violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act for exporting, selling, or causing the export or sale of aircraft and aircraft parts without first having obtained the required license from the U.S. Department of Treasury. Asefi made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 1, 2012. Karimian was arrested and made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 6, 2012.

Asefi is the principal officer of Aster Corp Ltd., an Iranian company with offices in both Iran and the United Kingdom. The indictment charges that, beginning as early as August 2007 and continuing through April 2011, Asefi used the United Kingdom office of Aster to serve as a transshipment point to facilitate shipment of goods from the United States to Iran; Asefi used Aster to facilitate the shipment of goods from the United States to Iran through third party countries; Asefi sent requests on behalf of Iranian entities to Karimian for purchases of aircraft and aircraft parts located in the United States or owned by United States persons; and Karimian knowingly and willfully made inquiries, placed orders, and attempted to facilitate the purchase of aircraft and aircraft parts located in the United States and owned by United States persons on behalf of defendant Asefi and persons in Iran.

Asefi and Karimian pleaded guilty to count one of the indictment and admitted in court that they acted with knowledge and intent to violate the Iran embargo when on September 27, 2007, Asefi and Karimian sent e-mails to establish a “profitable business collaboration” for the purpose of procuring aircraft and aircraft components for end-users in Iran. They further admitted that on or about October 1, 2009, Asefi sent an e-mail to Karimian which outlined the terms of delivery and payment on future transactions with Iran Air and stated “...remember that, only U.S. Embargo has brought this chance and benefit to us, to get involved in these deals....”
