Report: CAIR releases results of study which says Islamophobia is growing in the US

Here is the press release from Hamas-linked CAIR in which they try, oh they try to prove Islamophobia is based in a blind hatred of Muslims.  Anyone who has studied Islam, and read the Qur'an,and asks hard questions while demanding answers is a hater of Muslims.  Those who stand for free speech, the rights of women and children, freedom of any or no religion and the right to be free in all human respects are branded haters.  We are not allowed to inquire into Islamic texts or tenets, nor wonder aloud why Muslims continue to use copious quotes from the Qur'an to justify their behaviour.  To do that would be Islamophobic, and we can't have that now, can we?

New CAIR, UC Berkeley Report Documents Growing Islamophobia in U.S.
By Council on American-Islamic Relations
WASHINGTON, June 23, 2011 -- Groundbreaking study offers recommendations to help challenge troubling phenomenon

WASHINGTON, June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the University of California, Berkeley's Center for Race and Gender today released a report based on available data and interviews with experts that documents growing Islamophobia in the United States and offers recommendations about how to challenge the troubling phenomenon.

[Dr. Hatem Bazian, founder of the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project at UC Berkeley, spoke at the Washington, D.C., news conference held this morning at CAIR's Capitol Hill headquarters to announce the release of the report.]

SEE: Same Hate, New Targethttp://tinyurl.com/islamophobiareport2011

The groundbreaking report –- titled "Same Hate, New Target: Islamophobia and Its Impact in the United States 2009-2010" -- offers a definition of Islamophobia as a "close-minded prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims" and an overview of its growing negative impact in the United States. After defining the term, the report states: "It is not appropriate to label all, or even the majority of those, who question Islam and Muslims as Islamophobes."

Special sections in the report focus on the manufactured controversy over the Park 51 Islamic community center in Manhattan, the 2010 Oklahoma ballot initiative targeting Islamic principles(Sharia) and Islamophobia in the 2010 elections.

"This report shows that Americans who embrace pluralism must act together to prevent Islamophobia from being accepted in mainstream society," said CAIR National Legislative Director Corey Saylor, one of the report's co-authors. "Islamophobia is the new face of an old hate that has targeted minorities throughout our nation's history."

Saylor quoted from the report's executive summary: "CAIR's vision regarding Islamophobia in America looks toward the time when being Muslim carries a positive connotation and Islam has an equal place among many faiths in America's pluralistic society."

He said the report lists the "worst" Islamophobes and the "best" of those pushing back against growing anti-Muslim sentiment in American society and presents an initial set of recommendations for Muslims and Americans of other faiths to challenge Islamophobia.

Those commended for pushing back against Islamophobia include New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart, and MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, among others.

Those listed as actively promoting Islamophobia included Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, co-founders of the anti-Muslim hate group Stop the Islamization of America (SIOA); Act! for America leader Brigitte Gabriel; and GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were also listed as sources of Islamophobia.

Osama bin-Laden and Al-Qaeda both promote Islamophobia.  So Hamas-linked CAIR support both the goals of bin-Laden and Al-Qaeda, while condemning them for being Islamophobic.  Uh guys, you can't have it both ways.  Pick one and stick with it, OK?

Recommendations in this first annual report are directed toward American Muslims and their institutions. The report states: "This is a reflection of our belief that American Muslims must take the lead in pushing back against Islamophobia ... In a future report, we will offer recommendations to the public and private sectors."

The recommendations for American Muslims include being an example to others of the "Islamic traditions of patience and reason," being active in community and political activities, promoting volunteerism, and strengthening outreach to law enforcement authorities.

Suggestions are offered for all those "who wish to help rid our country of Islamophobia and other forms of intolerance," including passing legislation banning racial profiling, speaking out strongly against smearing entire faiths or peoples and refusing to offer a legitimizing platform to those who spout anti-Muslim bigotry or Islamophobia.

Blatant censorship to protect Islam and Muslims from scrutiny under the veil of  justice for all.

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

If Islamaphobia is growing, why then do ALL hate crime statistics show that at least 70% of all hate crimes are committed against Jews? In fact there are more hate crimes committed against religions listed as "anti-other religions" than listed as anti-Islamic. Why is the United States ignoring that statistic?
You never hear shouts of "Judeophobia" by the mainstream media, Jon Stewart never rants against the cowards who attack and vandalize synagogues, no one talks about the systematic elimination of Christians throughout the Islamic world, and CAIR never speaks up against Islamic bookstores selling Hitlers "Mein Kampf". Why?
CAIR states that "Islamophobia is the new face of an old hate that has targeted minorities throughout our nation's history." NO! Anti-Semitism is the new face of an old hate!
A group of Egyptians have announced their intent to establish a Nazi party with “a contemporary frame of reference,” an independent Egyptian news website declared on May 26, 2011. The Nazi Party operated secretly under former President Hosni Mubarak, whose regime prevented party leaders from carrying out their activities freely.
Two Facebook pages have appeared recently under the title of “the Egyptian Nazi Party”. TV programs shown throughout the Middle East praise Adolf Hitler and his "final solution" and air hideous programming that either denies the Holocaust, says that the numbers murdered in the Holocaust were greatly exaggerated, or show Jews morphing into apes and pigs (supposedly their descendants).
Where's the outrage? Where is the outrage by the mainstream media (a media that is supposedly controlled by powerful Jews), human rights organizations and peace activists? Where is OUR outrage?
Where is the outrage by CAIR and other Islamic groups, groups supposedly sensitive to intolerance, bigotry and racial and religious prejudice and hatred when Islam announces that there will be a "new" Nazi Party (a party dedicated to the elimination of Jews and Israel)?
I don't hear anything...
