Islam is peace, says Obama envoy

Well, if you are a Muslim it is.  Otherwise the Qur'an calls for the death, subjugation or conversion(9-29) of you, the non-Muslim.

The absolute folly of this line of thinking is almost beyond the ability to believe that such behavior exists in Washington DC.  Wait, did I just say that?  I mean, it is no surprise that the Obama WH believes that Islam is a religion of peace, after all he has been spouting this line ever since Jan 20, 2009.

It is clear we know nothing of Islamic doctrine of how Islam drives our enemies, we still want to see Islam as the same as all the other major religions, thus the continued rhetoric.

Obama envoy claims Islam is answer to violence

Hussain to Afghans: Your faith 'one of the strongest tools' against terror

A month before swarms of violent Afghans beheaded United Nations workers in the name of Islam, President Obama's top envoy to the Muslim world promoted Islam in a visit to Afghanistan, arguing it was one of the "strongest tools" against such violence.

In February, Rashad Hussain, U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, gave a talk in the Afghan capital of Kabul in which he called on locals to recommit themselves to their religion:

"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," Hussain told the gathering of Afghans, according to a transcript obtained by WND from the U.S. Embassy in Kabul.

He also said the Muslim faith is central to the administration's strategy to turn Muslims from jihadi violence:

"We see that as one of the key elements of a strategy to address this type of violence," added Hussain, a former White House aide appointed last year to represent the U.S. to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, a 57-nation Muslim bloc, which includes Afghanistan and other terror hotspots.

Islamic fundamentalism, however, appears to have led to the horrific violence against U.N. workers and other Westerners in Afghanistan. The killing spree followed Friday prayers at mosques in several Afghan cities, including Kabul.

To ignore what the Qur'an says with a wave of the hand is foolish and not in any way going to make a difference.  It is Islam as defined and practiced in it's purist form which makes it dangerous, and to say it is a religion of peace with no texts or tenets to back it up is to show ignorance.

Libya: Former Guantánamo detainee is training rebels

Another moment where reality meets the rabbit hole.  How does the Obama administration justify this?  Especially in light that now we are arming the rebels through the Saudi's.

We are supporting Al-Qaeda.

If this is what we get through Gitmo, I say close it.  We are supposed to be keeping jihadists and Islamists from harmimg us and others, yet we arm them after we release them from Guantanamo Bay.

Madness.

From The Telegraph April 3 by Nick Allen

Libya: Former Guantánamo detainee is training rebels

A former detainee at Guantánamo Bay has taken a leading role in the military opposition to Col Muammar Gaddafi, it has emerged, alongside at least one other former Afghan Mujahideen fighter.

Rebel recruits in the eastern port city of Derna are being trained by Sufyan Bin Qumu, a Libyan who was arrested following the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, and held at Guantánamo for six years.

Abdel Hakim al-Hasidi, a senior Libyan rebel commander in Derna, was also held following the invasion of Afghanistan and handed over to Libyan custody two months later.

Both men were said to have been released from prison in Libya in 2008 as part of a reconciliation process with Islamists in the country.

You cannot negotiate with Islam.  Period.

"Muslims in America are in the best position to show Islam and to show action and to show vision – not only for a Muslim school, how it should be run, but for an entire society, how it should be run. Who better can lead America than Muslims?"

The names I am called for pointing out Islam is designed to rule the world, and that jihadists and Islamists will do anything and everything to make sure the religion  of Allah reigns supreme are varied but consistent.  I hate Muslims, I take the Qur'an out of context, I misunderstand Islam and since I am non-Muslim I must be an Islamophobe.  It does not matter, the words from those charged with defining and explaining Islam say more about the religion than I ever could.  The problem is, those who attack me are bound to defend those who I criticize without understanding anything about the issue of what drives the dialogue.

Nihad Awad, director of CAIR wants us to believe Muslims are here to live within US law and  are as American as anyone else.  Sounds great on paper or during a rainbow and unicorn speech but the reality is the opposite.  He reveals, for the umpteenth time the true face of Islam in the United States.

Sedition by an American citizen, and the Obama administration yawns...

From WorldNetDaily April 3

CAIR chief's designs to 'run' U.S. revealed

'Who better than Muslims,' Awad asks, to lead 'Christian-Judeo-Islamic' nation?

The same national Muslim leader who's launched an "education campaign" to quell American fears over Shariah law once gave a full-throated speech to Muslims advocating an Islamic rise to power in America.

In a newly surfaced video of a 2000 speech to the Islamic Society of North America, Council on American-Islamic Relations Executive Director Nihad Awad told his Muslim audience: "Muslims in America are in the best position to show Islam and to show action and to show vision – not only for a Muslim school, how it should be run, but for an entire society, how it should be run. Who better can lead America than Muslims?"

Oh really, Awad?  Did you just say Islam wants to rule the world?  Why you Islamophobe!

The Justice Department named both ISNA and CAIR unindicted co-conspirators in a criminal scheme to funnel millions of dollars to Hamas suicide bombers and their families.

In the same speech, "Participating in Public Affairs: Strategies for the Year 2000," Awad encouraged Muslim-Americans to be more assertive with U.S. politicians.

"They should be a servant to our issues," he said. "We should be respected."
Specifically, Awad advised that Muslim-Americans demand politicians include in their national speeches and party platforms that America is also an "Islamic society."

Awad "demands" we talk about Muslims more in the public sphere, but only in the most glowing of terms.  Islam want to be recognized as part of the fabric of America by referring to the "Islamic Society" as part of the US.  Allright Awad, we will but first build a church in Saudi Arabia, stop the FGM of girls in Egypt, give women equal rights and stop the jihad and creeping sharia against non-Islamic countries. Then we can talk.

"This is no longer a Christian-Judeo society," Awad maintained. "It is a Christian-Judeo-and-Islamic society.
He said it.

He suggested they demand U.S. leaders in Washington cut aid to both Israel and India.

"We belong to the ummah, and we are an extension of the Muslim world," he said. "We should talk about Kashmir, and we should talk about Palestine."

Islamic law in America

CAIR is suing the state of Oklahoma to block a state constitutional measure banning Shariah law, which was approved by more than 70 percent of Oklahoma voters.

In a press release released last November applauding a Clinton-appointed federal judge's decision to temporarily bar certification of the popular law, Awad announced CAIR was launching an "education campaign" to inform Oklahomans they have nothing to fear from Shariah law.

Awad said voters were confused by "misinformation about Islam" promulgated by "Islamophobes."

He added: "CAIR plans an education campaign in Oklahoma to offer state residents accurate and balanced information about Islamic beliefs and practices and about the American Muslim community."

Critics say CAIR's leaders are worried about the passage of state constitutional bans on Shariah law, because they have a secret agenda to institutionalize Shariah law in America.

"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future," CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper told a Minneapolis Star-Tribune reporter in 1993, before CAIR was formed.

Italy banned Islam's religious tax status, why can't we?

Dr. Richard Swier explains here the reasons under which the US can, and should remove Islam's tax status as exempt.  He uses Italy as the example and is very clear on the reasoning why we should follow their lead.  A great piece from the dear Dr.

Italy denies Islam status as a religion
By Dr. Richard Swier April 3

Did you know that in August of 2010 Italy passed legislation denying Islam's religious tax status? Neither did I until I attended a presentation by Lieutenant General William G. "Jerry" Boykin, co-author of the seminal report Sharia: The Threat to America.
ADN Kronos International reports, "Politicians from the ruling coalition cite radical imams, polygamy and failure to uphold women's rights by Muslims immigrants as obstacles to recognizing Islam as an official religion in Italy." It is interesting that we have the same problem here in the United States with Muslim Brotherhood linked organizations that adhere to Sharia Islam.
The chart below depicts Muslim Brotherhood linkages within the United States:
U.S. Code outlaws members of "totalitarian parties". To some experts the Muslim Brotherhood and its members fit under the category of "Islamist collaborator" as defined in current laws. Here are the specific citations:
8 U.S.C. 1182 (a)(3)(D)(i) Illegal membership in totalitarian party. In general any person  who is or has been a member of or affiliated with the Communist or any other totalitarian party (or subdivision or affiliate thereof), domestic or foreign, is inadmissible.
Using 8 U.S.C. 1182 the Muslim Students Association, for example, is an affiliate of the totalitarian political party named the Muslim Brotherhood, which is based in Egypt. Therefore its presence in public schools, publicly funded college campuses and universities is illegal. All public funding and support, according to our laws, must be withdrawn immediately.
A second example is the U.S. Patriot Act which states:
U.S. Patriot Act HR3162 Subtitle B –Section 411 makes it unlawful to represent political, social or similar groups, whose public endorsements of terrorist activities undermines our efforts to reduce or eliminate terrorism.
The Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliate organizations such as the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Muslim Students Association would fall under this category of a "political, social or similar group that publicly endorses organizations such as Hamas. This representation was proven by the Holy Land Foundation trial evidence. According to experts, this is a breech of law does not require a finding of imminent danger to deny CAIR, MSA and other Muslim Brotherhood organization tax exempt status.
Perhaps it is time for our legislators at every level to review how we define Sharia Islam and recognize, as did Italy, that Sharia Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood are not religious but rather a geo-political system with U.S. based organizations created to follow and spread laws that violate our Constitution and core human rights values.

Caught in my own beliefs

When I posted the srticle by Roland Shirk on Obama working with the Muslim Brotherhood here I firmly believed that it was true.  I had no reason to doubt Mr. Shirk's words and did not question the motives which would have Obama cooperating with the MB.  What I did not take into account was the date, April 1.

Roland Shirk got me, and by extension you the reader.  His eloquent and surreal joke was lost on even your humble servant.  I should have known better, but I have been "got" in the past so this is not new for me.  I do apologise, with tongue in cheek for playing into the day, but hey, laughing is always good for the soul, right?

Anyway, the story is false but told with humor and an eye towards the wierd.  I hope it did not cause too much apoplexy.

SIOA wins! Detroit Transit to run "Leaving Islam?" ads

Another small but important victory for free speech and a blow to CAIR and other Islamists and jihadists who would rather there be silence on the unpleasant aspects of Islam.

Bravo Pam Geller and the SIOA!

From the American Thinker April 3 by Pamela Geller

A Victory for Free Speech and Free People

In a notable victory for the freedom of speech, a U.S. District Court judge has ruled that Detroit's SMART bus system must run my religious liberty bus ads offering help to people wishing to leave Islam safely, without having to live in fear. This victory has been a long time coming. SMART initially refused to run my ads back in the spring of 2010. Despite the desperate need for resources for Muslims under threat for leaving Islam, the city of Detroit refused to run our freedom campaign on the Dearborn and Detroit buses. In May of that year, my group, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, sued the city of Detroit for refusing our ads -- the same ads that were dropped and then allowed on free speech grounds in Miami, and which ran without legal challenge in New York City and San Francisco.

But in Detroit, they caved to Islamic supremacism and violated their own ad guidelines of freedom of speech. Here is SMART's first guideline for bus ads:

As a governmental agency that receives state and federal funds, SMART is mandated to comply with federal and state laws.  First Amendment free speech rights require that SMART not censor free speech and because of that, SMART is required to provide equal access to advertising on our vehicles.

What's more, contrary to claims from the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacists that the ads were "offensive," the need for them was obvious. According to the Washington Times, a teacher in Dearborn noted that there was "a climate of fear in the Detroit area's community." The educator explained: "The fear is palpable. I know there are things I am ‘not allowed' to say. A discussion of religion with a Muslim person is often prefaced by the statement, ‘Don't say anything about the Prophet [Muhammad].' In free society, open and honest conversation is not usually begun by a prohibition. Threats and intimidation are just part of life here."

SMART was saying that our ads offering help to those threatened for leaving Islam were political. They were effectively admitting that Islam was political -- an admission that had immense implications (far beyond, I'm sure, what Detroit imagined). If Islam is political, it ought to be subject to the restrictions and scrutiny to which all political entities in the U.S. are subject. This could open the door to a reevaluation of the unthinking assumption that Islam is simply a religion like Judaism or Christianity, and transform anti-terror efforts that are now hamstrung by the all-too-common idea that all that goes on in mosques is purely "religious."

In our AFDI motion to compel SMART to run our ads, we explained: "The fact that society may find speech offensive is not a sufficient reason for suppressing it. Indeed, if it is the speaker's opinion that gives offense, that consequence is a reason for according it constitutional protection."

Still no self-control by Muslims over the Qur'an burning

To quote Frank Zappa, "The torture never stops".

More deaths in Afghanistan because a crazy preacher here in the US decides to exercise his free speech right and burn a Qur'an.  For this Muslims must kill.  Not the one who is doing the burning, mind you but the symbol of what they see as part of the network of infidels: the UN and the personnel attacjed to it.

Whatever the reason for the carnage, it is on Muslims to use restraint and self-control like other religious believers do.  It is not on us to make them feel better about themselves.

Two killed, dozens hurt in third day of Afghan protests

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) – Two policemen were killed and more than 30 people wounded in the southern city of Kandahar on Sunday during the third day of protests across Afghanistan against the burning of a Koran by a militant fundamentalist Christian U.S. pastor, officials said.

Violence at earlier demonstrations claimed more than 20 lives. Ten people were killed and more than 80 wounded in Kandahar on Saturday. Seven foreign U.N. staff and five Afghan protesters were killed on Friday after demonstrators overran an office in normally peaceful Mazar-i-Sharif city in the north.

A senior interior ministry investigator said on Sunday the killers of the U.N. staff appear to have been "reintegrated" Taliban -- fighters who had formally laid down arms -- although the insurgents have denied any role in the attack.

Over 30 people have been arrested, from areas as far afield as southern Kandahar, western Herat and central Baghlan province, said Munir Ahmad Farhad, a spokesman for the provincial governor.

With little sign of widespread anger fading, the governor also issued an order banning sermons which might "provoke the public." The violence in Mazar began after Friday prayers, some of them harshly critical of the West.

In Kandahar on Sunday, hundreds of people marched toward another U.N. office, again denouncing the actions of U.S. preacher Terry Jones, who supervised the burning of a Koran in front of about 50 people at a church in Florida on March 20.

The governor had promised a strong police presence and it initially appeared the march would end peacefully; many of the morning's demonstrators had drifted away before violence began.

There have been peaceful demonstrations in Kabul, Herat city, Jalalabad city in the east and northern Tahar province.

But anger unleashed on Saturday when protesters waved white Taliban flags, shouted "Death to America," burned tires, smashed shops and vandalized a girls' school returned to the city.

Always condemn either the US or Israel no matter what.

A discussion of religion with a Muslim person is often prefaced by the statement, ‘Dont say anything about the Prophet [Muhammad].’"

A logical reason why SMART decided to cancel the bus ads in the first place.  It is known that when taking on Islam as a non-Muslim brings on death threats and other nasty reprisals, not the least of which is the name-calling and demonization.

The SIOA, led by Pam Geller is suing Detroit Transit to force them to uphold free speech and run the ads called "Leaving Islam?".  The ads provide information and contact numbers for those wishing to leave the religion of peace.  The ads do not encourage people to leave Islam, only that there are resources they can use to make the transition easier and less scary.  Since apostasy is punishable by death, it makes sense to provide help and support for those wanting out.

CAIR does not agree, however and have begun their campaign of vitriol and smear-mongering against Geller and the supporters of the ads.

Detroit transit sued for nixing ‘Leaving Islam?’ ad

A bus-ad campaign that seeks to offer resources to those considering leaving Islam already has stirred up controversy in Miami and New York, but its next city may create the most fireworks - Detroit, the U.S. metropolitan area with the heaviest concentration of Middle Easterners.

The Detroit-area bus authority has refused to run the ads from Stop Islamization of America, an organization headed up by conservative activist and anti-jihad blogger Pamela Geller, prompting SIOA to file a federal lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Mrs. Geller said the transport authority’s refusal to run her ads violates her First Amendment right of free speech, and she will take the lawsuit to the Supreme Court if necessary.

“It is against the law, and I tell you, those ads will go up whether they like it or not,” Mrs. Geller said.

SIOA initially encountered a similar refusal in Miami, but Mrs. Geller said a lawsuit prompted the transport-authority there to relent in less than 24 hours.

Several calls to the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation, which operates the bus system serving Detroit and two surrounding counties, were not returned Thursday.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Michigan, said he expects that even if the ads do run in Detroit, they will not elicit any response besides puzzlement. The Detroit area, centering on Dearborn, is home to a quarter-million Muslims, whom Mr. Walid does not expect to react favorably to the presence of SIOA’s ads in their city.

“If she’s planning to put those Islamophobic ads in Detroit, she’s wasting her time,” Mr. Walid said.

There it is, the dreaded "I" word.

(.)The consensus view among Muslim jurists worldwide is that apostasy, unless mitigated by such factors as mental illness or duress, is punishable by death. Mrs. Geller cited a fatwa, or ruling point on Islamic law, issued by the authoritative Al-Azhar University in 1978, that said: “This man has committed apostasy; he must be given a chance to repent, and if he does not, then he must be killed, according to Shariah [law].”

Mr. Walid denied Mrs. Geller’s claims, though he provided no authoritative citations, and attacked Mrs. Geller’s character.

Of course he did, there is nothing intelligent he can come back with to actually dispute what Pam Geller said, so he must resort to the old trick of misdirection by ad-hominum attacks.

“She’s a well-known anti-Muslim bigot,” he said. “She makes no distinction between extremist Muslims and mainstream Muslims.”

Mr. Walid said that although there have been a few cases of violence against Muslims who convert away from the religion, there is no retribution for those who choose to leave Islam.

“People are free to leave Islam or any religion at any time. This is the United States of America,” he said.

If Islam has it's way, only for a short time.

Quran protests spread to turbulent Afghan east

JALALABAD, Afghanistan – Demonstrators battled police in southern Afghanistan's main city on Sunday and took to the streets in the turbulent east for the first time as Western pleas failed to halt a third day of rage over a Florida pastor's burning of the Quran.

An officer was shot dead in a second day of clashes in the city of Kandahar, said provincial health director Qayum Pokhla. Two officers and 18 civilians were wounded, he said.

In Jalalabad, the largest city in the east, hundreds of people blocked the main highway for three hours, shouting for U.S. troops to leave, burning an effigy of President Barack Obama and stomping on a drawing of a U.S. flag. More than 1,000 people set tires ablaze to block another highway in eastern Parwan province for about an hour, said provincial police chief Sher Ahmad Maladani.

The violence was set off by anger over the March 20 burning of the Quran by a Florida church — the same church whose pastor had threatened to do so last year on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, triggering worldwide outrage.

The Goldstone Report: incorrect demonization of Israel, says Mr. Goldstone

That's right, the man himself explains it all for us.  The most telling statement by him is that if they knew now what they did not know then, the report would have gone the other way: demonize Hamas and support Israel.

I usually don't gloat but here goes......

OK, i'm back.  Ahh, now to see which anti-semitic group or individual comes up with some way to blame Israel and the Jews.  Maybe it will be that Goldstone has been bought off by the IZCTRTW; the International Zionist Conspiracy To Rule The World or a variant thereof.

From The Washington Post April 1 by Richard Goldstone

Reconsidering the Goldstone Report on Israel and war crimes

We know a lot more today about what happened in the Gaza war of 2008-09 than we did when I chaired the fact-finding mission appointed by the U.N. Human Rights Council that produced what has come to be known as the Goldstone Report. If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document.

The final report by the U.N. committee of independent experts — chaired by former New York judge Mary McGowan Davis — that followed up on the recommendations of the Goldstone Report has found that “Israel has dedicated significant resources to investigate over 400 allegations of operational misconduct in Gaza” while “the de facto authorities (i.e., Hamas) have not conducted any investigations into the launching of rocket and mortar attacks against Israel.”

Our report found evidence of potential war crimes and “possibly crimes against humanity” by both Israel and Hamas. That the crimes allegedly committed by Hamas were intentional goes without saying — its rockets were purposefully and indiscriminately aimed at civilian targets.

The allegations of intentionality by Israel were based on the deaths of and injuries to civilians in situations where our fact-finding mission had no evidence on which to draw any other reasonable conclusion. While the investigations published by the Israeli military and recognized in the U.N. committee’s report have established the validity of some incidents that we investigated in cases involving individual soldiers, they also indicate that civilians were not intentionally targeted as a matter of policy.

(.)As I indicated from the very beginning, I would have welcomed Israel’s cooperation. The purpose of the Goldstone Report was never to prove a foregone conclusion against Israel. I insisted on changing the original mandate adopted by the Human Rights Council, which was skewed against Israel. I have always been clear that Israel, like any other sovereign nation, has the right and obligation to defend itself and its citizens against attacks from abroad and within. Something that has not been recognized often enough is the fact that our report marked the first time illegal acts of terrorism from Hamas were being investigated and condemned by the United Nations. I had hoped that our inquiry into all aspects of the Gaza conflict would begin a new era of evenhandedness at the U.N. Human Rights Council, whose history of bias against Israel cannot be doubted.

Powerful.  Read it all

UPDATE:  Here is an interesting piece where Israel now demands the Goldstone Report be "buried" and rendered irrelevant.  How novel!

From BBC News April 2

Israel urges UN to cancel Goldstone Report on Gaza war

The report's author, South African judge Richard Goldstone, said on Friday that new accounts indicated Israel had not deliberately targeted civilians.

He said that if he had known what he knew now, "the Goldstone Report would have been a different document".

Israel's prime minister said the remark meant the report "should be buried".
Operation Cast Lead was launched in response to repeated rocket attacks on Israeli territory by militants in Gaza. Some 1,400 Palestinians were killed, including hundreds of civilians, as well as 13 Israelis.
Hamas criticised

The Goldstone Report, published in September 2009, concluded that both the Israeli military and militants from the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which controls Gaza, had committed potential war crimes and possible crimes against humanity during the offensive.

The UN-appointed expert panel led by Mr Goldstone accused Israel of using disproportionate force, deliberately targeting civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure, and using people as human shields.

Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood: friends for a year

How does Obama keep a straight face when he says he is not a Muslim?  It must hurt to keep the poker-face when uttering those words.

How the administration can justify their rational for siding with the MB is beyond rational thinking.  A group dedicated to eliminating the West through it's own "miserable hands" and supporter of dozens of jihadist and Islamist groups in the US such as the MSA, ICNA, MAS and others are the antithesis of Western culture, law, ethics and morals yet President Barak Hussein Obama deems them non-violent, civic-minded and pursuing the same altruistic and democratic values as us.

Unbelieveable and reckless.

This decision will bite us hard in a year or so, probably during the 2012 campaign for re-election.  Bad news for Obama, to be sure.

U.S. Intelligence Agencies Find New Partners

For decades, U.S. intelligence agencies have routinely shared critical information with the covert operations organizations of such allied countries as the United Kingdom, Israel, Germany and other NATO powers. However, these “old-line” powers do not possess the deep resources of human intelligence (“humintel”) required for understanding the new Middle East, U.S. State Department analyst Lazlo Toth told Fox News Reporters yesterday. “What is more, many of those countries have agendas that are in fact at odds with the development of new, fragile democratic movements in the Middle East. The old European powers, the Israelis, none of them have a vital agenda in the emergence of popular-driven government. In fact, some of them are actively opposed to it. So we realized that we needed to find new friends in the region. And now we have found them.”

Toth explained that U.S. intelligence agencies have for the past 12 months been working with new security partners: the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood. “This once-controversial group, which long ago renounced the use of force, has an incredibly far-ranging web of connections,” Toth said. “Their assets extend through every Middle Eastern country, a number of nations in Asia, and even extend to a network of campus student organizations in the U.S. They have so much to offer us, now that we have won their trust,” Toth said. “It took time for us to convince some of the 'Old Guard' inside our intel agencies that we have no long-term quarrel with the Brothers,” Toth told Fox reporters. “But this administration has been unrelenting about this, making a number of transfers and forced retirements in order to clear away irrational opposition to our new approach.”

The Muslim Brotherhood shares America's concern with human rights, democratic governance, and the need for values-based political activism, Toth said. “We just needed to strongly motivate some of our senior staff in order to make them see it.”

Al Qaeda members hide in Brazil, raise money: report

BRASILIA (Reuters) – Al Qaeda operatives are in Brazil planning attacks, raising money and recruiting followers, a leading news magazine reported Saturday, renewing concerns about the nation serving as a hide-out for Islamic militants.

Renewing concerns.  How long have these concerns been talked about, and why were they stopped, only to be renewed today?

Veja magazine, in its online edition, reported that at least 20 people affiliated with al Qaeda as well as the Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim group Hezbollah, the Palestinian group Hamas and two other organizations have been hiding out in the South American country.

The magazine said these operatives have been raising money and working to incite attacks abroad. The magazine cited Brazilian police and U.S. government reports, but did not give details on specific targets or operations.

The United States has said Islamic militants have been operating in the border region between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. Brazil has denied this, while saying it is aware that some members of Brazil's Lebanese community legally transferred funds to the Middle East.

Did anyone think to ask where the money was going, and to whom?

Former Charlotte man publishes 5th edition of Al-Qaeda online magazine

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The 5th and latest edition of Al-Qaeda's English-speaking online magazine was published Tuesday.  "Inspire" is created in Yemen.  Experts say it's meant to recruit Westerners to terrorism.

Samir Khan -- a former Charlotte 20-something-year-old -- is one of the editors.  Khan used to live in north Charlotte with his parents.  WBTV approached him one time to ask about his Al-Qaeda connections.  He later fled to the Middle East.
In this 70-page issue, Khan writes one article.

It's not as violent as past articles he's authored where he has written that he's proud to be an American traitor, a devout Al-Qaeda follower and wished death and destruction to America.  In this article he focuses on Allah.

"It appears in Islamic tradition that tests from Allah are a sign of Allah's love," he writes.

The most eyebrow-raising article in this issue is written by another former American, Anwar Al-Awlaki.  It's called "The Tsunami of Change".

Al-Awlaki basically rewrites history to say Islamic extremists are taking over the world, while America is getting spread thin and "bamboozling" nations and leaders.
He uses Hosni Mubarak as an example.

"[Mubarak] has stood firmly in the face of popular opposition from the entire Muslim world when he continued with the peace process with Israel," Al-Awlaki writes.  "His support for the American invasion of Iraq in the first Gulf War was indispensable for America.  He persecuted the Islamists in his country, filled the prisons, tortured, and killed, all for the sake of America. He did the dirty job for the Americans.  In spite of that, how did the Americans treat him at his moment of need?   They trashed him.  He was conned by America.  He was tricked, swindled, cheated or as Malcolm would have liked to say: He's been bamboozled..."

More bloodshed blamed on Qur'an burning

The level of rage against Pastor Jones and Rapp for their daring to set fire to the word of Allah is almost too much to believe.  Muslims in Afghanistan, that bastion of democracy we created are murdering and plundering in a manner similar to the cartoon riots of a few years ago.  They blame us for their anger and would rather kill than take responsibility for their own feelings and reactions.  They have a choice to not lash out, the choice to do so is, of course firmly rooted in the Qur'an and hadiths.

It is not up to us to make people feel good about themselves, that is a personal responsibility within each of us.  Muslims are the only ones who see fit to throw a fit when a perceived slight has occured.  Islam will hate us no matter what we say or do, we are non-believers and until we convert, pay the jizya or fight for our lives we are fair game in the eyes of the worlds largest victimized group.

Here are some updates on the wrath of the "religion of peace"

Ten dead on second day of Afghan Koran burning protests

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) - At least 10 people have been killed and 83 wounded in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, officials said on Saturday, on a second day of violent protests over the burning of a Koran by a radical fundamentalist Christian in the United States.

A suicide attack also hit a NATO military base in the capital Kabul, the day after protesters over-ran a United Nations mission in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif and killed seven foreign staff, in the deadliest attack on the U.N. in Afghanistan.

Some protesters in Kandahar carried white Taliban flags and shouted slogans including "long live the Taliban" and "death to America." In rioting that lasted hours, they smashed shops, burned tires and vandalized a girl's high school.
Two of the dead were Afghan policemen, an official said.

(.)The protesters were driven by anger at the actions of extremist Christian preacher Terry Jones who supervised the burning of the Koran in front of about 50 people at a church in Florida on March 20, according to his website.

In an interview with Reuters on Saturday, Jones was unrepentant and defiantly vowed to lead an anti-Islam protest outside the biggest mosque in the United States later this month.

Deadly Protests Against Quran Burning Spread in Afghanistan

At least nine people were killed in southern Afghanistan Saturday in a second day of protests against a Quran burning by a radical Christian church in the United States.

Security forces fired shots into the air to disperse the protesters as they marched through the streets of Kandahar city, setting cars and buildings on fire.

The Saturday riots came a day after a group of people stormed the United Nations complex in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, killing seven foreign workers.

Lastly, a piece on the Friday attack.  From The Globe and Mail April 1 by Susan Sachs

Koran-burning sparks deadly retribution

Outraged by the burning of a Koran in the United States, rioters attacked a United Nations compound in the northern Afghanistan city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Friday, leaving at least seven foreigners and four Afghans dead after an hour-long rampage and raising troubling questions about the capacity of the Afghan police to maintain law and order.

Mazar-i-Sharif, a prosperous city run by a strongman governor, has been considered among the few relatively peaceful places in Afghanistan. Only 10 days ago, it was named as one of the first four provincial capitals where local security forces will assume full responsibility for security beginning this summer.

The attack occurred as crowd of some 2,000 men marched past the compound in an organized protest against the burning of a Koran two weeks ago by a fringe Florida pastor, Terry Jones.

Most Afghans, lacking access to international news and the Internet, learned of the incident just this week from local media after President Hamid Karzai publicly condemned the Koran-burning.

There is lots more in each story, reas them all.

...and this Hijab will stop a 9mm round...

This is just silly.  I understand cultural sensibilities, but can we please keep safety the number one priority for our soldiers?

Maybe if the hijab was Kevlar...

From The Daily Caller April 1 by Caroline May

Don’t forget your hijab, soldier! American servicewomen encouraged to wear headscarves in Afghanistan

In an effort to get closer to the local population, American female soldiers stationed in Afghanistan are being encouraged to wear a Muslim headscarf when interacting with civilians. But some question whether the practice constitutes cultural sensitivity or a form of appeasement that is degrading to U.S. soldiers.

Major Kyndra Rotunda, executive director of the Military Law and Policy Institute and AMVETS Legal Clinic, told The Daily Caller that while the women are not being ordered to wear the head scarf, encouragement is tantamount to a demand.

“They say they are encouraging women to wear the headscarf when they are out and about and on patrol. But the problem is — and I think anyone who has been in the military understands that being encouraged to do something is about the same thing as being ordered — it really puts them in an uncomfortable position when their commander says, ‘We really want you to do this, technically you don’t have to, but we really want you to do this,’” she said.

Lt. Col. Michael Lawhorn, a U.S. Central Command spokesman, stressed to TheDC that while commanders are encouraging American women to wear headscarves while engaging with civilians, they are not having them wear the headscarf in lieu of their kevlar helmets.

“Nobody is saying, ‘Okay as we head out onto this dangerous street, you wear a hijab instead of your kevlar helmet,’” Lawhorn said. “As women are on some of these engagement teams and they are going to go into places where are going to predominantly be dealing with other women, like giving them medical information or finding out their concerns are in the local community. Local commanders are encouraging them — not demanding, but encouraging — if they feel more comfortable — ‘Feel free to wear a headscarf.’”

Projected Responsibility

It is up to us to make sure Muslims feel warm and fuzzy, if not we can expect to pay for our sins against Islam.  It is up to us to provide Islam with unlimited leeway in how they act and react, our behavior mirrors Muslims actions.  If we allow freedom of speech, Islam will demand we stifle that freedom when it insults them.

The result?  Innocents die in the name of Allah.

'Ten UN workers killed' at Afghan Koran protest

"Ten (UN) people have been killed by the protesters (...) All the killed are foreigners," police spokesman Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai said.

A spokesman for the UN mission in Kabul, Don McNorton, said: "We are aware of an incident in our Mazar office, we are currently working to ascertain all the facts."

Afghanistan had condemned the "disrespectful and abhorrent" burning of the Koran by evangelical preacher Pastor Wayne Sapp in a Florida church, calling it an effort to incite tension between religions.

President Hamid Karzai called on the United States to bring those responsible for the burning of the Islamic holy book on March 21 to justice.

Karzai wants us to prosecute Jones and Sapp using sharia law.  Oh wait, there is no practice of sharia law in the US.

Sapp set light to a Koran under the supervision of Terry Jones, who last year drew condemnation over his aborted plan to burn a pile of the holy books to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Jones cancelled his plans under enormous pressure from world leaders including US President Barack Obama, but the mere threat to burn the Muslim holy book sparked large protests in Afghanistan, where the UN and aid groups warned that civilians and aid workers in the country could be killed if the pastor went ahead.

Only 14, Bangladeshi girl charged with adultery was lashed to death

The details of the death of Hena Akhter is but a symptom, the disease is Islam.

Murdered for being raped, this beautiful little girl suffered the supreme punishment from Allah because in Islam, men are not responsibile for their carnal urges.  Women, or in this case a girl are responsibile for the behavior of men, and if they are raped it means they have tempted the men in some way, thus the punishment of lashing or stoning.

A brutal and sadistic end to a blooming life, courtesy Muhammad.

This is Islam.

Only 14, Bangladeshi girl charged with adultery was lashed to death

Hena Akhter's last words to her mother proclaimed her innocence. But it was too late to save the 14-year-old girl.

Her fellow villagers in Bangladesh's Shariatpur district had already passed harsh judgment on her. Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment: 101 lashes delivered swiftly, deliberately in public.

Hena dropped after 70.

Bloodied and bruised, she was taken to hospital, where she died a week later.

Amazingly, an initial autopsy report cited no injuries and deemed her death a suicide. Hena's family insisted her body be exhumed. They wanted the world to know what really happened to their daughter.

(.)"...Hena was walking from her room to an outdoor toilet when Mahbub Khan gagged her with cloth, forced her behind nearby shrubbery and beat and raped her.

Hena struggled to escape, Alya told CNN. Mahbub Khan's wife heard Hena's muffled screams and when she found Hena with her husband, she dragged the teenage girl back to her hut, beat her and trampled her on the floor.

The next day, the village elders met to discuss the case at Mahbub Khan's house, Alya said. The imam pronounced his fatwa. Khan and Hena were found guilty of an illicit relationship. Her punishment under sharia or Islamic law was 101 lashes; his 201.

And the voices of Western feminists and human rights activists should be clamoring for attention to condemn this travesty against women.

Wait for it...

The old "I'm lost, can you point me to the highway" excuse at CA Marine base

I have to admit, the balls these guys have is impressive.  Drive right up to the gate and feign ignorance as to where you are or how to get to where you want to go.  Now we know guys are not too bright with maps or directions, but the gate to Camp Pendleton is not exactly the place one thinks to ask directions from.  Then to drive onto the base without permission, well that usually gets you shot, in this case the three men were released without charges.

Why?

From ABC News March 30

Security alert issued at Camp Pendleton

A security alert was reportedly issued at Camp Pendleton after three Middle-Eastern men in two vehicles drove onto the base under suspicious circumstances Saturday night around midnight.

The drivers said they didn't know each other, but both said they were lost and trying to get to Glendale.

Glendale is close to 75 miles from Pendleton.

One of the drivers reportedly ignored orders to wait at the main gate and drove onto the base.

A search turned up no weapons.

But an airbag had been pulled out and reattached with duct tape and wires were hanging free.

The charge which deploys the airbag is used also to detonate IED's, and the only way to get them is to dismantle the bag.  Duct tape and hanging wires could be a sign the driver had done just that.

The next morning the other driver returned to the base and said he made a mistake and was trying to get onto Interstate 5.

There are more questions than answers here and it bothers me.

A background check showed that the men all had clean records.

Sarah Palin's sharia-free Alaska

Apologies to Sarah, but it seemed a good fit when I wrote it.

Our 50th state is seeing the light of a sharia-free future, but those pesky people at CAIR and the local Muslims are trotting out the victimization card once again, calling the hearing "divisive."  If there is anything divisive it is the lies and misdirection practiced by Islam and it's apologists, perpetuated by Muslims who use the word of Allah to murder.

At least in this instance we heard voices of reason and honesty: Pam Geller and Nonie Darwish.  Bringing up uncomfortable points and exposing them to the scurtiny and light of day should help the lawmakers in Alaska to do the right thing and make sure sharia law never takes hold, but with their Assistant Attorney General Mary Ellen Beardsley saying "I've had difficulty figuring out how it(sharia) could ever be applied..." the disconnect between reality and ignorance may be too wide a gap to bridge.

Palmer lawmaker's bill aimed at Islamic law called divisive

JUNEAU -- Palmer Republican Rep. Carl Gatto has set off a political firestorm with a bill aimed at stopping what he deems as the potential of Islamic religious law -- Sharia -- trumping the U.S. Constitution in Alaska courts.

Gatto said he has strong support of Mat-Su area tea party groups and has received nearly 500 emails and phone calls from places like New Zealand, Poland and Israel in support of his bill. It's part of a push nationally by conservative state legislators, with similar measures introduced in more than a dozen states.

A Muslim group in Anchorage says Gatto is spreading an anti-Islam message and the Alaska Civil Liberties Union argues the bill could have unintended legal consequences. The Alaska Department of Law, meanwhile, testified it's hard to see the bill having any real effect as U.S. law already reigns supreme in Alaska's courts.

So far US law reigns supreme, but the creep of sharia is becoming a gallop and the future is looking less rosy.

(.)"I'm more concerned about cultures that are vastly different from European immigrants, who come here and prefer to maintain their specific laws from their previous countries, which are in violent conflict with American law," Gatto said.

"That's the issue that I am worried about."

Gatto's proposal, House Bill 88, says Alaska courts can't apply foreign law if it would violate an individual's rights guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United States or the state of Alaska. Gatto doesn't have examples of Alaska courts imposing Islamic Sharia law but said his bill is determined to make sure that it doesn't happen.

A member of the Islamic Community Center of Alaska sent an email addressed to Gatto saying 4,000 to 6,000 Muslims live peacefully in Alaska and asking him to "please do not ignite hate and misunderstanding." Another Muslim from Anchorage, Lamin Jobarteh, said Muslims follow U.S. law. There is no Sharia law in Alaska, he said.

Veiled threat alert.

(.)The Council on American-Islamic Relations called on Gatto to drop his invitation for Stop Islamization of America Executive Director Pamela Geller to testify at a Wednesday hearing on his bill, saying she leads a hate group.

Gatto shrugged off the request. "Anybody can make a statement that if they are opposed to your point of view they're a hate group," he said.

Bravo for telling the truth, Gatto.

Another possible dry-run airplane jihad attempt from the "religion of peace"

This one hits close to home, as the flight was bound for Portland, Oregon.  Whether or not this was a dry run, we have seen this scenario played out many times in the last few years, each one ending in nothing more than an inconvienence for the passengers.

The flight crew said the three were taken off the plane because they did not heed the instructions of the flight attendants.  Passengers said the men appeared strange (Juan Williams, where are you?) and they were heard to argue with crew members.

Since no one wants to address the real problem, Islamic doctrine and how it shapes the behavior of Muslims such as these three, there will be more of these incidents, ultimately ending with shouts of "Allaku Akbar" and the deaths of many innocents.

3 'Strange' Men Cause Flight Diversion

A Portland, Ore.-bound flight made a "level two emergency" stop in Chicago Tuesday night after passengers said three men, reportedly of Middle Eastern descent, were acting strangely, even fighting with flight crews.

At least one of the men walked back to the area of the plane where flight attendants work, laid down and began complaining of illness. That man engaged in "some sort of altercation" with the flight attendant, a passenger said.

At one point another man, who was pacing back and forth in the aisles, also got into a "verbal altercation" with a flight attendant, according to a passenger.

Other men of “Middle Eastern descent” were passing notes and “writing in their notebooks,” a source told NBC Chicago.

United contacted officials at O'Hare and alerted them that the flight, which originated in Washington D.C., would stop. The flight was diverted to Chicago.

Three passengers were removed from the aircraft, and the remaining passengers were re-screened through security, before being sent on their way.

Passengers arriving at Portland told NBC affiliate KGW they were aware of problems during the flight. Cliff Robinett described the incident as “strange goings on in the back of the plane."

Another passenger, Lydia Omelchenko, said the three individuals removed were “strange people.”

Robinett said the man was lying on the floor in the back of the plane did not speak English, and an interpreter had difficulty translating. Robinett said a doctor on the plane also tried to assist the passenger.

He said three men got off the plane, one of them ill. No one knew what was happening at the time, including TSA officials in Chicago, he said.

Stacy Niedermeyer of Southwest Portland was on the flight with her husband and four children.

Niedermeyer said one of the men went to the back of the plane and "sat down on his bottom." Some type of heated altercation took place.

Lydia Omelchenko said passengers knew something was amiss and were texting about the incident. She reported that two men, one of them young, left the plane and neither looked ill.

Other passengers interviewed did not wish to be identified. One passenger said a man with a backpack was pacing back and forth and got into an argument with a flight attendant.
