The Extinction of a Religion, Jihadi Style

Christians are systematically being cleansed from Iraq and other Islamic countries, as per Allah and the Qur'an.  Soon there will be only memories of a once-great religion.  The saddest part, no one seems to care.

The end of Christianity in the Middle East, and Nobody Cares.

Christianity, no matter your personal view will soon be no more in the countries they once populated.  Decades of jihad, coupled with spreading Islamic fundamentalism conspire to cleanse the Middle East of all vestiges of what was once the dominate religious group.  From Egypt to Syria, Iraq and Yemen, these Islamic countries, and others allow the continuation of what can only be described as a “religious cleansing”.
The recent murder of over 50 Christians at Sunday worship in Iraq by jihadists serves to highlight the growing plight of Christians in Islamic countries.  The attack on
The Our Lady of Deliverance church in Baghdad, complete with homicide vests brought death and carnage to those whos only crime, if it can be called that, is to be other than Muslim.  1980 saw 2.89% of the population in Iraq as Christian, today they number a mere 0.89%, with the remaining trying desperately to find another home.
The Islamic State of Iraq, one of many affiliated with Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the murders, saying “The Mujahedeens raided a filthy nest of the nests of polytheism, which has been long taken by the Christians of Iraq as a headquarter for a war against the religion of Islam…”  Two days later, as Christians and Shi’ites were gathered to mourn the deaths of these innocents, mostly women and children, 13 separate bombings across Iraq took the lives of 76 and wounded 200.
Isolated incidents they are not, as Christians and other non-Muslim peoples are consistently targeted by those who follow Muhammads example as the “al-insan al-kamil” or perfect man.  The Islamic State of Iraq has made it’s position very clear “All Christian centres, organisations and institutions, leaders and followers, are legitimate targets for the mujahedeen (holy warriors) wherever they can reach them."  This statement specifically addresses their anger over the two wives of Coptic priests who are alleged to have converted to Islam, and are being held now against their will by their Coptic Christian husbands.  Again we see how virtually anything can be, and is used as an affront to Islam or Muslims, thereby giving them carte-blanche to do whatever is sanctioned by Allah and the Qur’an.
The reality for Christians in Iraq and elsewhere is such that staying probably will mean their death, so much so that a top Iraqi Christian, Archbishop Athanasios Dawood at the Syrian Orthodox Church in London is advising the remaining Christians to flee and find safe shelter somewhere else.  “"You know, everybody hates the Christian. The Christians are weak - they don't have militia, they don't have a (political) party,(..)"  Since 2003 “…there has been no protection for Christians. We've lost many people and they've bombed our homes, our churches, monasteries,(..)" he said, urging Christians to leave Iraq as soon as possible.
One week after the massacre at the church, two more Christians were killed, at random while going about their business.  Within two weeks of the church bombing there were mortar attacks against Christians and another church was damaged.  As for the Muslim world, where is the outrage?  Cartoons they agitate against, burning Qur’ans they rage against, perceived insults they kill for but Christians, they ignore.  Where is the outrage?
As galvanizing as these heinous acts are, one would think that Muslims would put their own house in order, and root out those who have hijacked Islam.  Cartoons are one thing, but bloodshed should really get them to mobilize, right?  Where are our churches in all this, when are they going to stand up for their brothers and sisters in Islamic countries and say, no more?  Tolerance, spoken of within the walls of western religious sanctuaries seems to apply only to those afraid to challenge the intolerant.
Christians are dying to live a better life away from those who are doing their best to kill them.  Literally.
