Portland, OR school to support Islamism

I point out on a regular basis, creeping sharia is happening all over and the efforts to curtail it's spread is non-existant at best.  From footbaths at airports to separate swimming rules for Muslims at public pools, the demand for acceptance of Muslims norms in the public arena is, once again one of many signs that non-Muslims, wherever they are, must bend to Muslim culture.  Why, Muslims are victims of hate crimes and are the "New Jews"

Since the Portland Christmas Tree bomber, the fire at the Corvallis mosque, the conviction of Pete Seda of Ashland on money laundering charges and past jihadist activities it is surprising to see an Oregon public school, one which runs on tax dollars, bow and scrape to Muslim demands.  I hope the school would not have done this on their own volition, and that some kind of outside pressure or faulty thinking process lies behind this decision.  If that is the case, then the question becomes: how to educate the administrators and teachers so this will never be repeated.

Sadly, from looking at history I fear the students are doomed to indoctrination and religious relativism favoring Islam.

Thanks to Victoria Taft at KPAM for this story.

PDX's Rigler Public Grade School Provides Students With Bibles, Gives Kids Special Chapel in School to Pray During Math Class

Oh, wait, I'm sorry, I got it all wrong. Whoops. Dang I knew I messed something up. Wrong religion. Nothing to see here. Go about your business.

Muslim students at Portland's Rigler Elementary School are given their own school provided prayer room, prayer rugs, helpfully stored in the prayer room by the school, and let out of class five times a day to pray to Allah. Did I mention this is during school hours? School officials AND the PPS spokesman confirmed before I went on the air with this earlier this month.

This was first reported to us by the relative of a teacher at the school who called to the show thinking it odd that schools in Portland who don't allow creche scenes and can't bring themselves to call it a "Christmas" tree actually provide the prayer implements for the mostly Somalian Muslims at Rigler Elementary. Apparently that whole prayer in public school being unconstitutional thing applies only to Christians.
The school stores the Muslim prayer rugs for the students in a special room and they roll them all out for the kids five times a day.
Government schools are required to accommodate religious beliefs of students to a point, but this is beyond the pale.

South America: The Cocaine Jihad

The focus of Islam is to make each country on the planet an Islamic one, with sharia law as the principle source of legislation and Islam the official state religion.  For decades the West has looked upon our South American neighbors as the lesser of the two hemispheres, never really taking into account, especially in the last 15 years, that Islamists had their eye on South America, and were working on ways to exploit it to their advantage.

We have a history of propping up puppet dictatorships, installing Western-backed despots and supporting the "other side" when it suited our needs.  Those "banana republics" are now, for the most part gone, but the undercurrent of dissent and revolution is still very much alive.

Jihadists have for a long time used the proceeds from drug traffiking to bolster their power and control the population.  It is no secret that the opium crop in Afghanistan is a prime source for Islamic funding, and a weapon against the West in the form of heroin addiction.  We have allowed Karzai and the Taliban to continue their drug program, under the guise of supporting the local population and their cultural ways.

South America is the new Middle East, and dictators like Hugo Chavez are the new dogs in this coming fight.

From The Telegraph Dec 29 by Robin Yapp

South American drug gangs funding al-Qaeda terrorists - South American drugs gangs are providing millions of pounds of funding for al-Qaeda terrorists by paying them to ensure the safe passage of cocaine across north Africa and towards Europe.

Islamic rebels familiar with the barren terrain of the Sahara have struck deals under which they provide armed security escorts for drug traffickers in return for a slice of their profits.
Counter-terrorism experts said that the terrorists belong to the Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) group, which has kidnapped a series of Westerners and killed a British tourist last year.
They warned that the money they receive from drugs gangs could be used to attract new recruits and plan terrorist attacks on European cities.

No doubt the money will be used to pay for more jihad attacks, and to recruit more members of the "religion of peace"

Sheikh Al-Awda: Zionists and Jews control Terrorist Attacks

More lies, obfuscation and misdirection from our "friends" the Saudis.  Notice there is never an outcry from Muslims about this kind of hatred and propaganda, yet if I or anyone else not a Muslim points it out, the label of "anti-Muslim" or that dreaded "Islamophobia" is applied, thus shutting down any conversation or critical analysis.

Remember, it is always the Jews fault, always.

Burqa-clad Bank Robber commits Jihad in Canada

We do not know for sure yet whether this robber is Muslim, all we know is that it seems to have been a man perpetuating this crime.  It does not matter, really who the person is, bank robbery is a felony and the punishment will be severe.  It will be interesting to find out just who pulled this one off.

From the National Post Dec 31

OTTAWA — A man used a Muslim woman’s religious garment as a disguise to rob a bank in an Ottawa strip mall on Thursday, police say.
Sgt. Mark Myers said the man was wearing a blue robe and a head scarf concealing his mouth and nose when he passed a note demanding money to a bank teller at a Scotiabank branch in the city’s west end.

Was blue the robbers favorite color?

Myers said police are confident the suspect is a man because he spoke in a masculine voice at one point during the robbery.

I spent time in West Hollywood, and believe me, it is hard to tell gender just from a voice.  Some of the most beautiful women had voices deeper than mine.  Come to think of it, they had adams apples also.......

Roland Shirk on New Years Resolutions

From Jihad Watch Dec 30 and the inimitable Roland Shirk

(.)I answer people who call me an Islamophobe by saying something like this: "Afraid of Islam and sharia? You're damned right I'm afraid. So are the Iraqi Christians who get gunned down in their churches, and the Pakistani Christians facing execution for blasphemy. I'm sure the victims of terrorism in New York and London were frightened, too. When you have to take off your shoes and belt at the airport, and get your whole body x-rayed before you can board a plane, who do you think the airlines are 'afraid' will blow up the plane--the Amish? The Mormons? The Hindus? If that's what it means to be an Islamophobe, then I guess you could call FBI agents 'crime-aphobes.' If Muslims want us to stop being scared of them, maybe they could--I dunno, stop oppressing and killing people around the world. That would make a really nice start."

The Doctrine of Taqiyya by Raymond Ibrahim

The concept of Taqiyya has a lot of people confused.  Does it give Muslims permission to lie to non-Muslims, and is it part of jihad doctrine?

Originally published as an essay for the subscription-only Jane's Islamic Affairs Analyst in September of 2008, this is the unedited version.

Raymond Ibrahim: "Islam's Doctrines of Deception"

To better understand Islam, one must appreciate the thoroughly legalistic nature of the religion. According to sharia (Islamic law) every conceivable human act is categorized as being either forbidden, discouraged, permissible, recommended, or obligatory. “Common sense” or “universal opinion” have little to do with Islam’s notions of right and wrong. All that matters is what do Allah (via the Koran) and his prophet Muhammad (through the Hadith) have to say about any given thing; and how Islam’s greatest theologians and jurists—collectively known as the ulema, literally, the “ones who know”—have articulated it.
Consider the concept of lying. According to sharia, deception in general—based on the Koran’s terminology, also known as “taqiyya”—is not only permitted in certain situations but sometimes “obligatory.” For instance, and quite contrary to Christian tradition, not only are Muslims who must choose between either recanting Islam or being put to death permitted to lie by pretending to have apostatized; but some jurists have decreed that, according to Koran 4:29, Muslims are obligated to lie.
THE DOCTRINE OF TAQIYYA
According to the authoritative Arabic text, Al-Taqiyya fi Al-Islam, “Taqiyya [deception] is of fundamental importance in Islam. Practically every Islamic sect agrees to it and practices it. We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream…. Taqiyya is very prevalent in Islamic politics, especially in the modern era.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams: Christianity is an insult to Muslims

Rowan Williams is not a recent dhimmi, he has a history of giving England away to Islamists in the name of the "common good".  He has not had a lot of press in the West, and a lot of Americans do not really know who he is or just how dangerous his views are.  Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has sold his cullture for a few pennies and when called to answer for what he has done, I feel the fires will not consume him fast enough.

From the Mail Online Juny 15, 2008 by Steve Doughty

Christian doctrine is offensive to Muslims, the Archbishop of Canterbury said yesterday.

Dr Rowan Williams also criticised Christianity's history for its violence, its use of harsh punishments and its betrayal of its peaceful principles. His comments came in a highly conciliatory letter to Islamic leaders calling for an alliance between the two faiths for 'the common good'.

What common good can there be between one faith which has, as one of it's central tenets "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and the other faith which has as one of it's central tenets "...and smite them at their necks...until they feel themselves subdued..."(47-4)

But it risked fresh controversy for the Archbishop in the wake of his pronouncement earlier this year that a place should be found for Islamic sharia law in the British legal system.

We know how well that has worked out so far.

Biofuels: Muhammad's Worst Nightmare

There is much debate about biofuels, mainly surrounding the value of making our machines go versus the enviornmental problems in the production of such fuels.  Ethanol is caustic in some ways, not very efficient in how much energy it stores and releases and how valuable is it compared to organic oils, hemp, or other means of energy storage and usage.  Today in the US we have biofuel stations, recycling of used oils is very big business and the "greening" of our society continues apace.  One bright aspect of this mindset is the very real possibility of not only getting away from fossil fuels, but also destroying our enemies ability to fight against us by removing the source of their funding.

Going through my files I came across this article, I had saved it because I thought the idea of Islamic countries being afraid of our biofuel program would one day be more relevant that it was back in 2008.  Now with electric cars coming online, and more diverse biofuel/electric energy studies happening, it was time to revisit this theme of oil and our future.

We send about one billion dollars a day to our enemies in the Middle East.  Saudi Arabia is the main beneficiary of our "jizya" payment each day, and as long as we continue to fund the expansion of Wahhabi doctrine through our petro-dollars, we risk our safety in the name of profit and "friendly relations".

If you are a fan of taking money out of the mouths of those willing to kill us in the name of Allah, realise how easy it can be to stop this before it gets too far out of hand.

Oil producing countries fear bio-fuels competition

Saudi Arabia admitted that petroleum producing countries are concerned with the competition of alternative fuels, such as bio-fuels and with the determination of many countries to ensure their “energy independence”.

They are scared that their money will dry up and end their reign of terror against the "infidels"

This concern among producing countries is retracting investments in the sector, said Saudi Petroleum and Mineral Resources minister Ali Al-Naimi addressing the International Forum on Energy which concludes Tuesday in Rome. "I've seen unprecedented levels of uncertainty, doubts and even fear in the conversation about the future of energy and its impact on world growth prospects", he added. Al-Naimi said that "high prices of oil, geopolitical tensions, the new role of crude as a financial instrument, concerns about climate change and the growing popularity of the notion of energy independence are increasing the levels of anxiety among producers and consumers"

Less money means less ability to spread political Islam.  How is that a bad thing?  Also notice how the Saudis try to tie their own reduction in oil revenue to a reduction of the worlds financial growth.

(...)"the call to replace petroleum with alternative fuels in the name of energy security heightens anxiety among producing countries of a future with falling demand for the commodity which is their main source of income" said Al-Naimi.

Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall...

Danish Cheeseheads

First Sweden, now Denmark.  Soon Norway, and then....to the Arctic!

Seriously, the inroads Islam is making into places such as Denmark, Sweden, the Maldives and even Dearborn, Michigan should come as no surprise.  There is no place on earth which is not seen by Islam as theirs, and the fight gets tougher every day.

From the land of midnight sun, beautiful women and those amazing pastries comes this from FoxNews.com Dec 29

COPENHAGEN  Five men planning to shoot as many people as possible in a building housing the newsroom of a paper that published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad were arrested Wednesday in an operation that halted an imminent attack, intelligence officials said.

Still, to this day, those who take the word of Allah as the undeniable truth(9-5) cannot let go of their anger and humiliation at a simple cartoon.

"An imminent terror attack has been foiled," said Jakob Scharf, head of the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, or PET. He described some the suspects as "militant Islamists with relations to international terror networks" and said that more arrests were possible.

Wow, as close to politically incorrect speech as we have seen in a while.  Since Europe has been subjected to Islamic creep for decades it is not surprising to hear such sentiment from a European.  May we hear much more.

In order not to insult Christians, Indonesian officials remove footbaths and prayer rugs ahead of visit by Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur....wait, what?

Another trip down the rabbit hole.  See the smiling cat in the distance.

From The Malaysian Insider Dec 29 b y Debra Chong

KUALA LUMPUR.  Catholic church officials were told to remove crucifixes and to avoid hymns being sung when Prime Minister Najib Razak attended the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur’s Christmas tea party last Saturday.

The overzealous bid to protect the prime minister’s Islamic credentials was described by sources familiar with what happened as “paranoid” and done without Najib’s knowledge.

The sources also noted the actions of officials from the prime minister’s office could have jeopardised warming religious ties.

Or not.

Sources disclosed that this year, the PM’s aides had issued a list of instructions to Archbiship Tan Sri Murphy Pakiam to facilitate Najib’s attendance on Christmas Day.
Among the directives given were:
. To remove any overt Christian symbol, such as crucifixes, from the party premises
. That carollers not belt out hymns
. Not to quote from Scriptures or say any Christian prayer during the visit.

Not out of line, considering that these are common rules regarding Christians in a Muslim land, and their behavior therein.

If Christians were Treated as Muslims

Bruce Bauer, in his recent article at Human Events highlights the chasm between the perceptions of Muslim vs Christian behavior.

What if the shoe were on the other foot....

(.) If Muslims were treated like Christians in America, Muslims would have to tolerate the defamation of their holiest images in our national museums, acts which would be called "artwork" -- and, if particularly provocative, even given taxpayer-funded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. They would also have to accept Korans being burned and thrown into toilets, which instead of inciting worldwide outrage and retribution would provoke a collective shrug of the shoulders.

(.) If Christianity were treated like Islam, our students would be taught a white-washed version of Christian history, with the troubling bits miscast or omitted from textbooks and lesson plans.

(.) If Christianity were treated like Islam, Christmas and Easter would be publicly celebrated for what they are — the signature events of Christianity, marking the birth and the death and Resurrection of Christ — not stripped of all their theological meaning...

Islamnet: Global Digital Jihad

Jihad comes in on many different cat-feet: the sword, the pen, the word, the law, the mind, the spirit.  A newcomer on the stage is now the computer, or more properly the internet.  We know how Islamists effectively use the internet for recruiting and ptropagandizing, yet how deeply the doctrine of Islam is embedded in the digital world is, for most people not well understood.

I was reading this article in the latest American Thinker from Pamela Geller, freedom fighter extraordinaire and creator of the excellent website Atlas Shrugs and it struck me: more creeping sharia and "jihad by the word".

The organization tasked with doling out internet domain identities, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers(ICANN) recently approved changes affecting it's operation.  Originally ICANN had ten board seats, all of which were taken by US and European designates.  Now, this has been halved, with US and European interests taking just five chairs, the other five now go to Islamic countries.

Not a big deal, you say?  Why not let Arab countries have a say in the 'net and how it operates, you say? Well, the same time ICANN re-arranged the deck chairs they also took the brilliantly misguided step of eliminating the word "terrorism" from its application guidebook.  Muslim groups complained the word was offensive, thus its removal.  With that self-censorship ICANN has cut off its face to spite its nose.

Now with the UN cutting its internet control ties with the US and letting our enemies such as the Organization of Islamic Conference take a prominent role in the internet, the influence of Islamic doctrine through sharia will grow unchecked, and censorship against any criticism of Islam will become stromger.

The infulence of Islam regarding their approach to Western ideals, particularly free speech has been well documented by David Littman at the UN, he has constantly pointed out the depths to which Islamic countries, through the OIC will go to control speech on Islam.  As recently as October of this year the media has discussed openly how the internet is being gradually taken over by Islamic speech constraints and jihad recruiting.

The Oct 5 issue of The Times of India writes about the number of jihadist websites and their explosive growth "...in recent years, politicians and global law enforcement agencies have spoken of their fears that militant groups were using the Internet to radicalise and recruit people to their cause."

The internet is a very powerful tool to get your word out.  Look at this blog, and it is easy to see how an idea, a concept can spread with all the fury of a Kansas wildfire.  Our enemies, and those who wish us nothing but harm are using the invention of American sweat and ingenuity to remove the right to criticize the "religion of peace".

Sites like this, or ones like Jihad Watch, or Faith Freedom, or Atlas Shrugs, or any internet site which speaks in less than glowing terms of Islam is now in the cross-hairs.  Do we let them slowly but inevitably erode our rights to speak, and become the dhimmis they want us to be?  ICANN  has decided for us, with the help of governments who are not our friends, and an administration here in Washington which clearly shows it has Muslim sensibilites as a higher ideal than American values.

What Would you do for Jihad?

In Human Events Dec 28, Robert Spencer asks the question: what would it take for you to embark on a jihad?  As always, he answers it brilliantly.  As one of the foremost scholars on Islam today, he deserves reading at all times.

What would it take for you to commit mass murder in the name of Allah?

Would you do it for money? For love? Out of a sense of justice? Out of a sense of religious duty?

....these are serious questions, for as jihad mass-murder plots are being uncovered in the United States more frequently than ever, those accused of perpetrating them, and several Islamic groups, increasingly are charging entrapment: that overzealous FBI agents pushed poor innocent Muslims into taking part in a jihad plot that otherwise would never have existed.

Update on Minnesota Santa insult against Somali Muslims

A while ago I wrote here about how Santa would not be allowed to put in an appearance for the kids at Head Start in Mankato, MN due to local Somali Muslims complaining about it being an "insult" to Islam.  Well wouldn't you know it, there is more, and it ain't pretty.

From the MankatoFreePress Dec 22 by Brian Ojanpa

MANKATO — Head Start officials erred in ending Santa Claus visits to St. Peter Head Start classrooms and have unfairly made Somalis into scapegoats on the issue, say two Mankato Somalians who have lived in the community a combined 23 years.

“Why put a fire under Somalis?” Lul Ahmed said. “This is a lovely community where we live together. But we’re being seen as negative, and we don’t want that.”

Who exactly is making you be seen as negative?  Could it be those who use the texts and tenets of Islam to justify their actions;  Ft Hood, Detroit, Baltimore, Mumbai, Madrid, London and Sweden, are they to be held responsibile for the perception of Islam?  Well, Mr. Ahmed?

Ahmed...fear(s) that the virulent anti-Somali reactions on website comment pages and forums to published reports of the Santa ouster could be breeding grounds for hate crimes.

Another attempt to sow Muslim victimization using groundless accusations.

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams: A good and Faithful Servant of islam

For those unfamiliar with Dr. Rowan Williams, this piece will be a wake-up call as to just who Dr. Williams supports, and where his loyalties lie.  We have similar religious leaders here in the US, but Dr. Williams aggregious abdication of English common sense and his embrace of dhimmitude must be held as a banner of what not to do in the face of Islamism.

From the Express.co.uk Dec 27 by Leo McKinstry

The narrative of victimhood comes easily to followers of Islam. They constantly bemoan the prejudice they have to endure and the oppression they suffer in the bigoted western world, where Islamophobia is supposedly rampant. Every terrorist atrocity, every blood-soaked massacre is justified by reference to imagined grievances.

(...)But by far the greatest persecutors of other faiths are Muslim hardliners themselves. The great Caribbean writer VS Naipaul once described Islam as “sanctified rage”. The proof of those words has been graphically illustrated by a growing catalogue of barbarities committed by Islamic militants against Christians, none of them more shocking than the mass murder committed in a Catholic Church in Baghdad at the end of October, when 58 people were gunned down during an act of worship. “All of you are infidels,” said one of the killers....

(...)Yet western political leaders, through a mixture of cowardice and denial, have refused to challenge the Islamic culture of persecution. In any other sphere, they make an absolute fetish of their devotion to the causes of equality and anti-discrimination.

Perhaps most disappointing of all has been the enfeebled response of our own church leaders....worse has been the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, whose convoluted utterances epitomise the irresolution of the Church of England, whose present core belief is not in God but in a desperation to appease the enemies of Christianity....

Hamas in London; nothing new here, move along

Hamas is an anti-semitic, genocidally-driven Islamist organization, legitimized through an election and by the fawning over of the worlds dhimmis.  Their charter calls for the death of all Jews and the destruction of Israel, and it uses copious Qur'anic and hadith quotes to back up it's claims.  Now it is public that they are operating in London, growing their strength and power by using Western civility and our inability(or unwillingness) to identify the ideology that drives Hamas and others like it.

As long as we do nothing to open a public dialogue on groups like Hamas and the tenets which propel them to kill, we risk everything we have.

Despite what your personal views are of Israel, they are the "canary in the coal mine" in the Middle East, standing guard against the noxious fumes of Islamism.

From Google/AFP Dec 28

JERUSALEM — Israel's defence ministry has accused a London-based Palestinian centre of "terror-affiliated activities" and being the organisational arm of the militant Islamic Hamas movement in Europe.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip and advocates violent opposition to the Jewish state, is designated by the European Union as a terrorist organisation.

An Israeli defence ministry statement issued on Tuesday said that the Palestinian Return Centre in Ealing, north London, organises conferences in Europe at which it plays taped speeches by Hamas leaders who are banned from entering the EU.

"The centre is involved in initiating and organising radical and violent activity against Israel in Europe, while delegitimising Israel's status as a nation among the European community," the statement said.

Oh Those Cheeky British

There is a very popular TV show from England called "Top Gear" broadcast through BBC-America on cable and satellite.  For those of us who love machines, this is great stuff.  The hosts of the show, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are truely British, and their brand of humor is uniquely european which translates into "what did he say?" moments while watching.  Now the boys are in trouble with Islam again, adding another insult to their last burqa joke.

Now the gearheads from the UK have made more enemies of the "religion of peace" my actually wearing burqa's on the air!  Will the "Islamophobia" never end?

From the Mail Online Dec 28

Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear co-stars have sparked religious outrage after dressing up in burkas on the Boxing Day special.

Clarkson and Richard Hammond decided to dress in niqabs, a form of the burka where everything but the eyes are covered, in order to disguise themselves on the road.

They also got James May in on the act when they greeted him from hospital after he fell and hit his head on rocks in the Syrian desert.

Interesting that the hospital would allow females in to see an unrelated male, or even more bizarre, if they knew they were men dressed as females, where were the police to enforce anti-homosexual laws based in sharia?

Islamic extremist Anjem Choudary, said: 'The burka is a symbol of our religion and people should not make jokes about it in any way.  'It would have been equally bad even if they’d not been in a country mainly populated by Muslims.'

We are told the burqa is a personal choice and has nothing to do with the Qur'an or any Islamic doctrine.  Anjem Choudary must then be another in the long line of "misunderstanders of Islam" we hear so much about.

Granny Jihad in the Heartland

My Grandma was the best.  I always enjoyed immensely her cooking, her hugs and her ever-present listening skills.  She lived in Palm Springs, California and the trip there from L.A. meant hours in the car which was always an adventure in itself.  She was everything any kid could want, except a jihadist.

This is a sad story, inasmuch as it paints a negative picture of the kindly, loving granny we all should have when young.  Her ideals were not those of gingerbread cookies, hot cocoa with little marshmallows and cheek pinches, but instead of shaheed paradise and "...slay and are slain for Allah..." (9-111).

From FoxNews.com Dec 28 by Jana Winter

A 46-year-old Indiana grandmother is under investigation for her possible ties to suspected and convicted international terrorists, FoxNews.com has learned.

Muslim-convert Kathie Smith, 46, a U.S. citizen living in Indianapolis who has blogged about her granddaughter, last year married a suspected German jihadist, and has been flying back and forth between the U.S. and Germany as recently as two weeks ago.

We can expect to see more converts like Mrs. Smith in the future, and more "misunderstanding" of Islam as well.

In lengthy e-mail exchanges with FoxNews.com, Smith alternatively defended her online postings, denied being anti-American, called the Sept. 11 attacks an inside job, the U.S. a terrorist organization and praised the American-born radical Muslim cleric Anwar al Awlaki -- architect, trainer and inspiration for many of the recent terrorist attacks attempted or committed against the U.S.

Not anti-American?  Really Mrs. Smith?  In the same article, to illustrate her lack of honesty she says on her MySpace page  “As salamu alaikum akhi.. it is time for Jihad and it is now Fard ayn(requirement for all Muslims to fight when invaded-ed) for ALL Muslims whether their in the United Snakes or else where...Insha'Allah!!!!”
Even amid her calls for jihad against the West, she maintains her respect and love for America “I am exercising my right, as an American citizen to freedom of speech, religion, and the right to bare arms. I have the right in America to say what ever I want. That is what makes America so great, right?”
What a surprise, a Jihadist biting the hand which feeds it.

The City of the Angels goes to Hell in a Handbasket

I was born in, and grew up in Los Angeles, a fact that, after 16 years in Oregon I do everything to avoid admitting.  I have no pride in my "hometown", nor do I wish to ever return for more than a few days at a time.  What was once a plinth on which to place American ideals and values, it is now just so much sewage to be flushed.

Bitter, me?  No, just realistic after decades of watching my beloved L.A. turn into so much multi-kulti bulls#*t.

As a former member of the most polluted city on the west coast, it comes as no surprise that the L.A City Council, in all it's corrupt and greedy glory, manages yet another politically correct blunder in the name of "not insulting 'insert name of current victim group here' ".

A few years ago, the city decided, after many complaints, that the L.A. city symbol was too religiously one-sided and must be changed for the good of the public order.  After careful and deliberate debate, the city ruled that the cross, representing the Catholic influence of the city was to be no more, and it was removed from the city seal.  As is the norm when speaking of a religious symbol, polls showed a majority of Angelenos against the removal of an integral part of their history, yet it was to no avail.  The voice of moderate censorship ruled the day, and the city became a little less of what it used to be.

This latest outrage, in the form of buying into the lie of "Islamophobia" and castigating all residents who want dialogue on Islam slaps common sense in the face.  Again we see dhimmi attitudes at work, and again we see how, in the face of any potential name-calling, a city council, one of the largest and most powerful in the country willingly tuck tail between legs and refuse to do anything except run from their own shadows.

The article says that the city council believes that mobs of Angelenos, armed with torches and pitchforks are roaming the dark streets, rounding up poor, victimized Muslims (or anyone of middle-eastern cast), thus their justification for this unbinding resolution comdemning "Islamophobia" and repudiating random acts of violence against Muslims.  If the council is using any recent numbers on religiously motivated hate crimes, they must be making them up, because the facts do not line up with their myopia.

In 2009, the FBI's latest statistics on hate crimes show of the 1,376 hate crimes motivated by religious bias, the overwhelming majority were against Jews with 70.1% and crimes against Muslims and Islam were at 9.3%.  It would appear that the city of Los Angeles is suffering from that common malady which affects all media these days, "rationalized myopia".  Even the county's own Commission on Human Relations, in their latest finding showed "...88 percent of all religiously based hate crimes (in L.A. county)in 2009 were against Jews. Hate crimes that targeted Muslims (3 percent) ranked slightly above those directed at Scientologists (1 percent). In fact, the commission found that attacks against Christians (8 percent) outnumbered attacks against Muslims."   For the city to agree that Islamophobia is running amok, violence against Muslims is increasing and that "something must be done" by way of a resolution condemning those who speak openly and truthfully on Islamic hegemony based in the doctrine of the Qur'an and the words of Allah, is folly on a grand scale.

If there is Islamophobia breaking out all over, it is due to those members of the "religion of peace" who continuously use the texts and tenets of Islam to justify their murderous behavior, and from those who uphold as correct for all time the behavior of Muhammad, the "al-insan al-kamil", the perfect man.

Is President Obama a Muslim?

This question has been bantered back and forth since the campaign.  Is he or isn't he...does he have a real birth certificate....is he a Christian?  I believe the question of whether or not he is a Muslims is easy to answer:  he acts like one, therefore he gives the appearance of catering to, and supporting Islam and Muslims, over and above the Christian nation he calls home.

His actions towards the Muslim world, and his speech in Cairo show him to be more giving towards Islam and Muslims than any other group, including Jews and Christians.  This latest story, once again tells a tale of misplaced empathy and deliberate misunderstanding of who the real victims are.

From BBC News south asia Dec 25

US President Barack Obama has condemned as "outrageous" Saturday's deadly suicide bomb attack on a town in north-western Pakistan.

No word on Obama's condemnation of the murder of Christians by Islam, or any of the other persecuted peoples suffering from the "religion of peace" as you read this.

"I strongly condemn the outrageous terrorist attack in Khar, Pakistan," President Obama said.

Once again, any mention of jihad, Islamic fundamentalism, Islamism or anything which could be seen as denigrating to Muslims is forbidden.  Just mention a tactic, never the ideology behind the tactic.

"Killing innocent civilians outside a World Food Programme distribution point is an affront to the people of Pakistan, and to all humanity," he said.

Obama was probably still thinking of sura 5, verse 32 where the killing of one is like killing all, yet if we forget to include the following verse 33, the true meaning of verse 32 is lost.  As Muhammad said, "War is deceit"
"The United States stands with the people of Pakistan in this difficult time, and will strongly support Pakistan's efforts to ensure greater peace, security and justice for its people."
How, Mr President, by sending even more money(jizya) to an already corrupt and dangerous government?  Let us know how that works for you, Mr. President.
As Obama has said, he is a Christian, not a Muslim.  If that is so, I ask for an explanation on these actions which show a definite Islamic agenda.  If Obama cares for his country, and believes in being a President for the people, he is bound to put the needs and values of America above all else.  If I did not know better (and maybe I don't) Iwould bet Obama has said the Shahada.
God help us if he has.

The Islamists among Hamas

Hamas is, despite all the protests to the contrary a Islamic supremacist group, dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the rise of the now Islamic Ummah, or global society of Muslims.  The nationalistic nature of Hamas has kept from  view the underlying doctrine which drives their actions and words.  The best way to truly understand the deadly nature of Hamas, and what they have in store for the rest of us is to read the Hamas Charter. In it you will find the worst kind of anti-semitic tripe, wrapped in a blanket of islamic hatred, bolstered by copious Qur'anic and hadith quotes.

Most people believe Hamas is a political party reflecting the will of the Palestinians, in reality they are a propaganda machine for the Muslim Brotherhood.  What they spew is hatred based in the words and deeds of Muhammad, while at the same time uttering soothing platitudes in the ear of Obama and the rest of the dhimmis at the White House.

As many disagreements as I have with Israel, some of their policies and actions taken, I will always support her right to exist, and support her against those who, in the name of Allah want her destroyed and all the Jews killed.

From Haaretz Dec 25

The head of Hamas' armed wing warned Israel on Saturday against launching any new military action in the Gaza Strip, accusing Israel of attempting to escalate the situation. The statement came after days of renewed rocket fire on Israeli communities and Israel Defense Forces strikes in Gaza.

Hamas would not rest until Israel was ousted from Palestine, said Ahmed al-Jabari, leader of the Izz a-din al-Qassam Brigades, adding that Israel had two options – to leave Palestinian territories or face death. He said that Hamas resistance would continue as long as Zionists remained in Palestine.

A little Sharia with your Pad Tai.

I have spent time in Thailand and it is a beautiful, green, humid, bug-infested place where memories of adventure linger forever.  In 1976, right after the end of the Vietnam war I visited, under circumstances best left untold, most of the country, from the north where you can get the worlds finest silk, to the southern beaches where the South China Seas emerald waters, warmed by the sun provided ample seafood for my plate.  The southern coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth, most of it unfortunately destroyed in the tsunami during the Christmas season a few years ago.  With all that has happened, it is sad to see creeping sharia now make it to Thailand's main stage of dialogue.  In a stunning lapse of reason, Thailand is now going forward and allowing and encouraging sharia law in the south provinces.

From the Bangkok Post Dec 25

The introduction of sharia law to the southernmost provinces has taken another step forward, with Deputy Interior Minister Thaworn Senneam saying it could help quell the insurgent violence.

He is also pledging to speed up work on a bill introducing a sharia court, which he hopes will help improve the security climate in the troubled region.

The move is part of the government's strategy of "widening the sphere" for Muslim people in the lower South.

I am not sure exactly how "widening the sphere" will help with intolerance Muslims usually direct towards non-Muslims, but Deputy Interior Minister Senneam thinks there is something to the idea.

The ministry said it would change several regulations to match the way of life in the Muslim-dominated provinces.

Uh oh...

The government is looking into making Fridays and Saturdays days off for Muslims so they can attend religious events.

Do Christians get Sunday off, or Hindus, do they get a day off for religious observations?  What about Buhddists, do they  have Wednesday afternoon off to pray?

It is always a one-way street: accomodate Muslim sensibilities but do not accomodate non-Muslim sensibilities.

New Years Resolutions

Do you have your list made yet?  We all do it to some extent.  We want to try and be better, kinder, slimmer, smarter, fitter and ever so younger.  The problem is, when we try, we usually never accomplish.  Just to try means giving a measure of effort with the knowledge that it probably will not be enough, but that at least I tried.

There is a hugh difference between trying and doing.  Like fishing and catching, you either win, or lose, no other options.  I gave up years ago making a resolution list, simply because I knew they were nothing more than self-serving, meaningless goals which would do almost nothing to help my world be better.  Quit smoking is good, but a good smoke after a meal is better.  5 drinks a day too much?  Cut 'em down to two(or occasionally three).  Run two miles a day?  Not a chance, besides running suits do me a great injustice.

There are things we all can do this coming New Year that will help the world be a better place.  Here are my suggestions for 2011.

1.  Keep learning.  Information, and the free exchange thereof is a vital link in the chain of communication between humans.  Whatever your passion, ask questions and don't stop until you have the answers.

2.  Question the meaning of the message you hear, not just the messenger.  Taking things at face value usually means missing a large part of the picture so always ask about that "grain of salt" with which everything is presented.

3.  Believe in your gut.  Our guts usually are correct, but we have a tendency to ignore it in favor of more rational thinking processes.  Do not ignore what the gut tells you, and if it tells you something is not right, listen to it!

4.  Demand proof.  If you think someone is misleading or lying, demand they prove what they say is true.  Sources, references and direct quotes are required to prove truths, nothing less will suffice.

5.  Call your Mother!

Happy New Year, may 2011 bring joy, happiness and enlightenment to all.

No New Years in Saudi Arabia

Let the champaign corks pop, the confetti fly and the lampshades be worn, 2011 is a'comin!  Well, not in Saudi Arabia, anyway.  Added to the list of "things you cannot do because Muhammad did not do them" is any New Years celebrations, of any kind, anywhere.  No Old man time, no aud lange sine and no popping of anything.  My favorite repressive government agency, the aptly named "Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice" to confiscate and dismantle any kind of New Year display, and to make sure no stores are selling said materials.

H*#&y N#@ Y*%@, infidel!

From ArabNews.com Dec 24 by MD Humaidan

JEDDAH: The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) has directed all its branch offices to be on the lookout for any year-end celebration, the director general of the Haia in Makkah province Sheikh Ahmad Al-Ghamdi said in a statement to Arab News on Friday.

"This(action), however, does not prevent Muslims from participating in the celebrations of the non-Muslims on condition that this participation should not touch the basics of the Islamic faith," said Sheikh Al-Ghamdi.

Since virtually everything about non-Muslims is against the Islamic faith, the sheik is saying do not participate in New Years, or any other infidel celebrations.
So much for bridge-building and interfaith dialogue.

Karzai's Taliban

Our "friends" in Afghanistan, particularly President Karzai, have shown themselves to be less than that.  I have pointed out that the Afghan constitution, approved by Obama and the administration, has as its first article sharia law as the highest law in the land, and Islam as the official state religion.  Now, Karzai has taken the next step towards relinqushing Afghanistan back to the Taliban.

The Taliban, after being routed in 2002-2004 have been making inroads.  Although the general population are not fans of the Taliban, they know enough to keep their mouths shut to save themselves and their families.  Now Karzai is about ready to throw his people under the bus permanently buy giving the Taliban official recognition as a legitimate representative body.

The Taliban, according to Karzai can and should set up a liason office in Turkey, with the blerssings of President Gul, naturally.  By giving legitimate voice to a group dedicated to the destruction of the west and the expansion of the caliphate, he is setting the stage for problems similar to those when a legitimate voice was given to Hamas or the PLO.

Karzai is an enemy, and he is in bed with Islamists.

From CNNWorld Dec 25

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai said Friday that he'd welcome a Taliban office opening in Turkey, that country's state-run news agency reported, adding that such a development could help peace talks in his war-torn nation.

Only if those talks were one-sided, and insisted on more sharia and ttighter controls on non-Muslims and their activities.

The Afghan president acknowledged that there have been discussions about Taliban officials setting up somewhere in Turkey "in order to facilitate reconciliation and integration," according to the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

Reconcile to the Taliban in control, and fully integrate sharia law as per Allah and the Qur'an.

Gotcha.

Christmas: A Love Story

I have been rummaging around the 'net, reading various pieces about Christmas, enjoying all the anecdotes and rememberances of both Christmas past and present.  We all know the basic story of how Christmas came to be, and we understand the importance of celebrating.

Yet, when I came across this, I felt different, somehow more aware, and thankful for all I have experienced, and how important we are to each other.

Our experiences, life, family and country dictate individual memories, but one thing stands out: the power of love is above all.

Merry Christmas to all, may God bless the human race.

From The Salem(MA) News, Dec 24 by Ethan Forman

BEVERLY — A carpenter and his pregnant bride-to-be return home to register for the census, but because the local inn is full, the couple must take refuge in a stable.
In this humble setting, the son of God is born. He is then swaddled in clothes and placed in a manger, a trough used to feed animals.

It's the story of Christmas, and it will be told and retold at countless churches around the world tonight. As North Shore clergy get ready to deliver their Christmas Eve sermons, each will have a different take on the story, with the aim of bringing home to worshippers the true meaning of Christmas.

For the Rev. Dr. Craig Collemer at First Baptist Church in Beverly, the story of Christmas is the greatest love story ever told. There's infatuation. There's risk taking. There's intrigue, he says.

As Collemer prepares his final Christmas Eve sermon after 40 years in the ministry, he wants to make sure the 400 or so coming out for the 11 p.m. candlelight service get the message that Christmas is indeed a love story.

"The love God demonstrated through that event in Bethlehem still carries today," Collemer said. It's a love that is unconditional and all-inclusive, he said.

The Rev. John Sheridan said he is especially blessed this Christmas Eve because he oversees both St. James Parish, a Catholic church on Federal Street in Salem, and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on Margin Street in Peabody.

Sheridan plans to preside over a 4 p.m. family Mass and Christmas pageant at St. James and assist at the other three Masses at St. James and St. Thomas on Christmas Eve.
St. James is the church where the funeral Mass was held for Army Sgt. James Ayube II, a senior combat medic killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan earlier this month, and Sheridan said Christmas Eve this year will be especially poignant for the parish.

"Christmas brings us back to what is really important," Sheridan said, family, faith, hope and love.

During the children's Mass, Sheridan plans to use some "sparkly bright bulbs" to talk about society and culture: While we crave the "flashy this and glitzy that," we are really missing the point of the holiday.

"Let's talk about the real light, which is Christ," Sheridan said.

Sheridan says he enjoys the start of the midnight Mass as "an incredible peace" sweeps the church.

"I'm so happy you are here and God is so happy you are here, and let's celebrate that," Sheridan said is his message.  Sheridan loves the chaos of Christmas Eve.

"It's also a lot of fun," Sheridan said. "Christmas Eve is joyous."

At Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers, the Rev. Thea Keith-Lucas said her children's service at 5 p.m. will include a display of four children's beds, an electronic swinging high chair, an ornate crib, a golden bed and a manger. She plans to ask families what kind of bed Jesus would have chosen.

"I'm trying to talk about who really needed Jesus and who Jesus comes to," Keith-Lucas said of the meaning behind Jesus' humble first bed, a manger. It symbolizes he came to help the poor and the powerless.

Keith-Lucas has also been thinking about the message of hospitality this Christmas season and the meaning of the line in the Bible about there not being room in the inn for Joseph and Mary. They instead found refuge with animals in a stable, which would seem a humble place for such a momentous event.

"Maybe God comes to us in exactly the places where we are trying to shut God out," Keith-Lucas said.

As they prepare their Christmas Eve sermons, some clergy are mindful their flocks only swell with Christmas and Easter each year. Not only is Christmas Eve a chance to preach to those who do not regularly go to church, it is also a time to give them a message of hope.

Sheridan said the archdiocese has a "Catholics Come Home" campaign to make those who have stopped coming to church feel welcome.

With many families facing difficult times and feeling "pretty beat up," Collemer, who is retiring this summer after 15 years at the Cabot Street church, said the story of Christmas has meaning.

"We are all in need of a reminder of a love story," Collemer said. If people feel they are loved, it can help them get through rough times.

From the Mouths of our Enemies, Pt 3

Here is the next installment, just in time for the holidays.  Gather the little ones around the roasting chestnuts, it's story time.

The Creation of Israel brings on the Race to Hell
Starting with the Balfour Declaration in 1922 and ending with UN General Assembly Resolution (UNGAR) 181(9) in 1948; the creation of Israel within the borders of the Palestine Partition Plan was a tough slog for all involved.   Hatred was still bubbling below the surface but it seemed everyone wanted the same thing, peace.
Just before Hassan Al-Bannas death in early 1947 he summed up the Arab worlds feelings about peace and the newest member of the Middle East neighborhood by saying this, "Israel will exist, and will continue to exist, until Islam abolishes it, as it abolished that which was before it."(10) This cemented the ideological vision Islam would have in regards to Israel, and by extension any of her allies.
Up to this time, the West had been seen mostly as just a nuisance by governments in the Middle East, someone to be tolerant of until they were no longer needed.  With the creation of Israel, the West was seen then as no better as a collection of useful idiots not to be taken seriously any longer.  The Arab League, mouthpiece for Arab countries both then and now is in universal agreement in its hatred of Israel and those not necessarily "useful idiots".

     H. R. H. Amir Faisal al Saud of Saudi Arabia made clear its intentions this way,” We have pledged ourselves before God and history to fulfill the
Charter in good faith, thereby respecting human rights and repelling aggression....the Government of Saudi Arabia registers, on this historic occasion, the fact that it does not consider
itself bound by the resolution adopted today by the General Assembly. Furthermore, it reserves to itself the full right to act freely in whatever way it deems fit."(11)   Still, to this day Saudi Arabia has not recognized Israel’s right to exist as a sovereign nation and openly exploits both western and Arab sentiments to its benefit.

Mr. Jarnali of Iraq stated "We did our best during the last few weeks to expound the spirit and the letter of the Charter and apply it to Palestine...therefore, in the name of my Government, I wish to put on record that Iraq does not recognize the validity of this decision, will reserve freedom of action towards its implementation, and holds those who were influential in passing it against the free conscience of mankind responsible for the consequences".(12)  The condemnation of all parties involved is plain to see, and the veiled threat in the words, "...reserve freedom of action towards its implementation..." seem almost prophetic in light of what has happened in the Middle East and Israel the past few years.

Syria had this view voiced by Amir Arslan, "My country will never recognize such a decision. It will never agree to be responsible for it. Let the consequences be on the heads of others, not on ours".(13)  Again a not so veiled threat issued against "...the heads of others..." with history showing that indeed, the heads of others have been claimed by fundamental Islam.

Virtually to the last country, the other Arab members of the UN posited similar sentiments after UNGAR 181 was passed.  These statements of hate and intolerance were not pulled out of a camels hump, mind you.  These are diatribes grounded in Islamic scripture and based in nothing less than the words of Allah and the traditions of Muhammad.

One example in the Qur'an says this about non-Muslims, "Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers.  Whoso doeth that hath no connection to Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourself against them, taking (as it were) security.  Allah biddeth you beware (only) of himself.  Unto Allah is the journeying."(Sura 3, verse 28, Pickthall translation).  This verse is in compliance with, and validated as true by the four main schools of Islamic jurisprudence, thus making the statements above not only true from their own political notions, but also true and unquestionable from a fundamental Islamic perspective.

Another verse which validates the Islamic view of non-Muslims is this Sura (8-39) "And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah".  These passages are taken to mean just what they appear to mean, that non-Muslims, especially Jews and Christians are not to be treated with the same level of respect as Muslims must treat each other, thus the refusal to recognize Israel, or see the west as a friend.

The hatred created and perpetuated through more than 13 centuries of Islamic rule shows through the flowery rhetoric and smiling missives of the leaders of Islam, terminating in a culture which knows no path occupied with anyone other than the greater ummah.  It is a twisted and demented theology which allows for the continuation of, and the encouragement to subjugate through religious doctrine any non-believer, whether individual or group.  With this mindset it is easy to continue the hate.

The Battle for Dominance
And Supremacy, 1950-1970

The end of the Ottoman Empire and its division after WWI meant the end of the Islamic Caliphate and the demise of a central authority.  Gone was the societal glue of fundamental Islam, replaced with a loose patchwork of weak leaders, lawless swaths of tribal areas and small bands of nomads, Bedouins and traders.
With the finality of the Palestine Partition sinking in and Israel standing tall as a newborn secular state in the midst of the rubble of a once great Arab civilization, the anger could no longer be contained.  As the ink was drying on the documents giving Israel legitimacy, the bullets were being chambered and pointed towards the fledgling democracy.
As individuals, the Arab countries could not go head to head with Israel but as a group they were able to combine their forces and achieve a level of military strength which, it was believed could defeat Israel’s small air force and ground army.
At this point it should be noted that even if Israel had not received their country in the heart of Dar-al-Islam the ideology and doctrine over 1,400 years would not prevent the continued expansion of Islam across the globe.
The hatred cloaked in supposed “nationalism” is entirely based in the Qur’an, sharia law and the hadiths and Sunna of Muhammad which states clearly that the Jews are not to be allowed to live as freemen.  The Jews must live under the rule of Islam.  The doctrinal hatred supersedes any claimed victimization by Israel.
The armies of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Trans-Jordan and Iraq (passing through Trans-Jordan) massed along their common borders with Israel ready to do battle.  The rhetoric coming from Islamic leaders at the time was as violent and denigrating as anything you hear today.  Take this statement from Azzam Pasha, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, made as a statement of defiance on behalf of the Arab League in regards to the creation of Israel, ""This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades."(14).
This first war against a non-Muslim country in the Arabs back yard started the DAY after Israel officially became a country.  From that time until now, the war prosecuted by fundamental (militant) Islam has not stopped.  A lull in actual fighting at times, perhaps but no real solutions except the quieting of the guns occasionally to enable Muslims to catch their breath as plans for furthering the battle continue to be drawn.
It wasn't as though there were no warnings coming from Israel’s enemies before the declaration of Independence.  Prior to the vote on Nov 29, 1947, The Arab High Committee spokesman, Jamal Husseini warned the UN that "The Arabs would drench the soil of our beloved country with the last drop of our blood . . . ."(15) if Israel were allowed to come to fruition.
The Arab countries wanted nothing to do with "peace" in the region, they just wanted Israel and the Jews gone, as per Allah and the Qur'an.   Islam made their intentions very clear about their fight against Israel.
When confronted with the accusation that they were the aggressors, once again Jamal Husseini told the Security Council on April 16, 1948 "The representative of the Jewish Agency told us yesterday that they were not the attackers, that the Arabs had begun the fighting. We did not deny this. We told the whole world that we were going to fight."(16)  The hatred against any entity other than Islamic inhabiting "Palestinian" land was an abomination, and the Arab countries were not going to let this stand.
The battle was engaged, and nothing short of annihilation of the Jews would stop the fighting.  Time and time again, Islamic forces would attempt to destroy Israel, and by extension the "crusading west".
This initial battle stopped on July 15 when the UN threatened the Arab states with aggression under UNGAR181, however this was not the end of the hate, only a short time-out.  Sura 3 verse 65 points out that the Jews and Christians are bereft of Allahs blessings "Say: Oh people of the scripture!  Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner to Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords besides Allah.  And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered unto him."  By relying on the supposed unassailable and perfect word of Allah it is clear that the elimination of non-Muslims (or conversion to Islam) is to be the key task at hand.
In 1948 this may not have been spoken out loud for all to hear, yet it is the Qur'an which guides all aspects of Islam, including the killing of unbelievers.  Israel as a secular state is, and continues to fight an uphill battle against an ideology with a love of death and a hate for the Jews and their country.
It is to be understood that, despite all Israel stood for as far as democracy was concerned it was not, and cannot be seen as the victim in all aspects.  In the workup towards the 1956 war, the Israeli army unit called "Unit 101"(17) attacked the Palestinian camp of al-Bureig in retaliation for fedayeen, or paramilitary commando raids that had been going on in Israel for some time.  The commander of “Unit 101" was Ariel Sharon.  20 residents were killed, consisting of mostly women and children.
Later that year in October Unit 101 attacked again, allegedly in response to another attack into Israel where a woman and two children were killed.  The Jordanian village of Qibya(17a) suffered 70 deaths, most killed while still inside their homes.  David Ben-Gurion initially denied that the IDF had any hand in the massacre, but finally came clean and admitted that yes, the IDF did shoulder responsibility.
The Israelis were not saints yet neither were they innocents.  The mindset of any nation always on the edge of vaporization by their enemies sometimes provides for strange and bizarre behavior.  There were numerous instances that, while isolated in the grand scheme of things never the less provide a window into the brutality and hatred equally vicious from Israel towards their Arab brethren.
Let’s not forget the vicious looting and pillaging of the Arab quarter of Jerusalem(17b) to where nothing but bare wall remained.  In Syria the village of Qunitrya(17c) was virtually gutted and booty taken by Israel, however it must be pointed out that the Syrian army had abandoned it and left it undefended.
There are many encounters which point to Israel’s viciousness against Arabs and there is no human rational except to use the rubric "heat of battle".  Some in the Israeli government wanted the Arabs completely gone from Israeli land, others viewed their place in the Middle East as having to share equally with the neighbors.
All this does not, however diminish or reduce the ideological threat espoused by Islam over 1400 years against Jews or non-Muslims.  Israel does not get a free pass, but neither does Islam.

By the mid 50s the anti-Israel hatred being cranked out by fundamental Islam was at full volume.  The voices were clamoring to be heard, the calls for the destruction of Israel reaching cacophonic levels.  From Egypt in 1956 came this out of President Nasser’s office, "I am not solely fighting against Israel itself. My task is to deliver the Arab world from destruction through Israel's intrigue, which has its roots abroad. Our hatred is very strong. There is no sense in talking about peace with Israel. There is not even the smallest place for negotiations."(18)
There is also this little gem from the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Muhammad Salah al-Din who, in early 1954 said "The Arab people will not be embarrassed to declare: We shall not be satisfied except by the final obliteration of Israel from the map of the Middle East.”(19)
As if these foreboding words of obliteration weren't enough, 1955 heard Nasser boast that "Egypt has decided to dispatch her heroes, the disciples of Pharaoh and the sons of Islam and they will cleanse the land of Palestine....There will be no peace on Israel’s border because we demand vengeance, and vengeance is Israel’s death."(20)  Notice now the insertion of the phrase, "sons of Islam" in the threat, a clear and obvious reference to the doctrine of Muhammad and the importance of bolstering their position among the Muslim laity.
With politics proceeding full steam ahead and all parties involved jockeying for position it became obvious that the new battleground would be the Suez Canal Zone.  Long a strategic passage for commerce, this narrow ribbon of liquid money became the focus of the world on October 29, 1956.
It was a fight with Israel, Great Britain and France allied against Egypt.  Opening the Suez was the stated main goal, deposing Nasser the operational goal.  The first was achieved, the second failed.
Nasser’s actions in the gulf were intended to open a wider war, ostensibly started as an action against the US pulling out of a loan offer to the Egyptians to build the Aswan dam.
By nationalizing the Suez Canal Company in July of 1956 and blockading the Gulf of Aqaba between the Tiran Straits and the Red Sea, Egypt effectively controlled the waterways crucial to Israel’s survival and prosperity.
Not only had Egypt hit Israel in the pocketbook, they also had just wrapped up an arms deal with Czechoslovakia and that was viewed by Israel as a serious threat to the balance of power in the region.  Amidst all this it was a backroom deal between France, Israel and England which laid the foundation for war in 1956.
Great Britain had been a waning power in the region for some time and saw this as an opportunity to regain lost stature.  They saw the alliance as a matter of political convenience and hitched their horse to Israel and the looming conflict.  France, on the other hand had become tired of Egypt’s bellicosity in Algeria and their continued support for the ongoing insurrection.
Algeria was a French colony and there was no love lost concerning French territory and Egyptian aggressiveness.  Both French Premier Mollet and England’s Prime Minister Eden viewed Nasser as a dangerous demagogue and wanted him removed from power if possible.
The three allies (Israel, France and England) created the "Sevres Protocol" in which Israel would seize the Suez Canal, whereupon France and Great Britain would demand both Egypt AND Israel withdraw from the Canal Zone.  It was expected that Egypt would refuse, thus setting up the attack and removal of Egypt from the Canal Zone by France and England, and hopefully Nasser as well.
By Oct 30 Israel had taken Gaza and the Sinai and had moved into the Canal Zone.  It was the US, surprisingly who sponsored a UN resolution, which passed on Nov 2 condemning the attack, motivated more by fears of Soviet intervention than their anger at Israel and its allies.
All this posturing being done by the parties involved did nothing to hide the ideology of Islamic motivation for the continuing hostilities against Israel.  It’s about the Soviets, or a waterway, or some other contrived scenario that ultimately boils down to fundamental Islam, jihad against non-Muslims Jews and the imposition of sharia law world-wide.
Nassers past and current statements make it clear that whatever the public discourse is regarding Israel, ultimately it is rooted in the tenets and doctrine of a religion having no tolerance for any deviation from its sacred and immutable texts and laws.
November 6th saw a cease-fire and in December a U.N. security force arrived on scene to restore order.  The Suez Canal was returned to Egypt and all was, for the moment quiet(er).  Even as Nasser retained his seat of power, the defeat militarily meant nothing as his stature politically among the Arab (and Islamic) world rose quickly, overshadowing even recognized leaders as King Hussein of Jordan and Nuri-al-Said of Iraq.
Although both Jordan and Iraq were seen as lackeys of the west they were still powerful and influential when it came to regional dictates and Nassers rise after 1956 provided him with a platform for continued and strident calls for the destruction of Israel and the rise of fundamental Islam.
In the background of all this, 1956 also saw the independence of Sudan from Great Britain.  Another example of a failed state driven by Islamic theology and sharia law.
As much as Islam and the Arab countries wanted Israel gone, the Jewish state still remained steadfast in its determination to negotiate with its enemies, regardless of the difficulties.
The Israeli belief in everyone getting along and living in peace, despite the recent bloodbath with fundamental Arabs served to increase Israel’s standing among civilized countries and help them to present a fair and honest picture of the problem and what the Israelis were doing to rectify it.  You would think that after seeing how Israel was being treated, and just how far they would go to achieve peace, the world at large would have Israel’s back, and lend critical support in a time of crisis.
On October 10, 1960, Foreign Minister Golda Meir challenged Arab leaders to meet with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to negotiate a peace settlement. Egyptian President Nasser answered on October 15, saying that Israel was trying to deceive the world, and reiterating that his country would never recognize the Jewish State.
Nasser wanted nothing to do with negotiating with Israel, especially since, in their view the "Palestinian" refugee problem was not his concern.  “The danger of Israel,” he said, “lies in the very existence of Israel as it is in the present and in what she represents."(21)  A few months later, after thinking carefully on the plight of the Palestinians, Nasser made this comment “...the full restoration of the rights of the Palestinian people. In other words, we aim at the destruction of the State of Israel. The immediate aim: perfection of Arab military might. The national aim: the eradication of Israel.”(22)
Now we have the connection, although political in nature of the struggle of the refugees and the elimination of Israel.  Neatly done, and the next step in the continuing war against non-Muslims through Israel.
On May 16, 1967 Nasser ordered the UN Emergency Forces stationed in the Sinai since 1956, to withdraw. Without bringing the matter to the General Assembly, as his predecessor had promised, Secretary General U Thant complied with that order from Egypt.
After the withdrawal of the UNEF, the Voice of the Arabs had this to say on May 18th "As of today, there no longer exists an international emergency force to protect Israel. We shall exercise patience no more. We shall not complain any more to the UN about Israel. The sole method we shall apply against Israel is total war, which will result in the extermination of Zionist existence."(23)  Almost 20 years after Israel appears, the Arabs cannot reconcile their hatred and animosity with a non-Muslim entity.
On May 20, 2 days later, from Syrian Defense Minister Hafez Assad we heard this enthusiastic echo "Our forces are now entirely ready not only to repulse the aggression, but to initiate the act of liberation itself, and to explode the Zionist presence in the Arab homeland. The Syrian army, with its finger on the trigger, is united....I, as a military man, believe that the time has come to enter into a battle of annihilation."(24)  If not for Israel deciding to take the risk in 1967 and make a pre-emptive strike on their stated enemies there would today be no Israel and Islam would be further along in their quest for a world-wide caliphate.
The 1967 6-day war was, and still is today a pivotal moment in the life of Israel, the Middle East, Arabs and Islam.  It became the defining action taken by Israel to preempt what would have been the end battle for Israel’s existence.
