Women are a mans property, to do with what he pleases. And if he is not pleased, he is commanded to beat her into righteous behavior(4-34). It does not take a rocket surgeon or brain scientist to see that women in Islam are not enjoying the liberating qualities of equal treatment.

HRW: Chechen women abused if refuse to cover head
GROZNY, Russia (AP) -- The cars pull up in broad daylight. Security forces point guns at terrified women and shoot. It turns out they're paintball pellets, but still harsh punishment in Chechnya for leaving home without a headscarf.
Chechnya's strongman Ramzan Kadyrov has imposed an Islamic dress code on women, and his feared security forces have used paintball guns, threats and insults against those refusing to obey. In a 40-page report released Thursday, Human Rights Watch condemned the campaign as a flagrant violation of women's rights and urged other nations to raise the issue with Moscow.
"The enforcement of a compulsory Islamic dress code on women in Chechnya violates their rights to private life, personal autonomy, freedom of expression, and freedom of religion, thought, and conscience," the report said.
Does not matter, as the headscarf requirement comes directly from Muhammad.
"It is also a form of gender-based discrimination prohibited under international treaties to which Russia is a party."
Kadyrov rules with the support of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who has counted on him to stabilize the mostly Muslim region in southern Russia after two separatist wars in the last 16 years. Russian authorities have turned a blind eye to the treatment of women and other rights abuses in Chechnya.
Why, so as to make sure Russians don't suffer from retaliation from the "religion of peace?"
Human Rights Watch interviewed dozens of women who have experienced or witnessed attacks or harassment for their refusal to adhere to the Islamic dress code.

The worst savagery is directed at women. The clerics have launched one crackdown after another on women, arresting, beating, flogging & torturing tens of thousands on the pretext of combating mal-veiling. Public stoning & lashing of women institutionalize violence.The mullahs show a particular vengeance towards women who become politically active & join the resistance. Tens of thousands have been arrested on political charges & severely tortured & executed. Many have died under torture. Even pregnant women have not been spared. Hundreds have been executed with their unborn children. The mullahs have shown no qualms about executing women of all ages; from 13-year-old adolescents like Mesbah, Maryam, 16; Mesbah, 15; Mojgan, 14; & Emami, 16; to 70-year-old grandmothers like Karbasi; Arasteh, 56; Davari, 54; & Shadmani, 50. Maryam, a 16-year-old high school student activist, was arrested & went through extreme torture. She was executed on October 1981. Her burial permit read: This document,authorizes the burial of Maryam, aged 16, whose death resulted from eight bullets entering her chest, eight her back & one her head. Sediqeh a political activist, was arrested & severely tortured. She was released from jail when her legs became paralyzed, but later rearrested & again savagely tortured. Her eyes were gouged out & she was killed when her throat was cut. She was 20 years old.Mina was held in solitary confinement for eleven months prior to her execution. During that period, she went through 40 interrogations, during which she was subjected to the most horrendous tortures. She was repeatedly raped by the regime's Guards. She was 22 at the time of her execution.Women political prisoners are kept in cement cages, 50 cm square, with their heads cramped down on their knees, for months. They are beaten up to 50 times a day. Another common torture of women political prisoners, besides flogging, is suspension for hours from the ceiling by the hands, or upside down, by the feet. In some cases, the torture leads first to paralysis, then to the woman's death. Nahid a 22-year-old teacher, was suspended from the ceiling for a prolonged period. She died under torture. Exceptions are not made for foreigners. Annie Ezbar, a French nurse who had come to the assistance of the Iranian Resistance's National Liberation Army, was captured in her ambulance. After going through extensive torture, Mrs. Ezbar was executed. According to a "religious" decree, virgin women prisoners must as a rule be raped before their execution, "lest they go to Paradise." Therefore, the night before execution, a Guard rapes the condemned woman. After her execution, the religious judge at the prison writes out a marriage certificate and sends it to the victim's family, along with a box of sweets. A senior Guards Corps interrogator recounted one such case: "Flora was one such victim. The night before her execution, the resident mullah in the prison conducted a lottery among the members of the firing squads to determine who would rape her. She was raped & the next day, after she was executed, the mullah in charge wrote a marriage certificate & the Guard who raped her took that along with a box of sweets to her parents."
