Non-Muslim tourist fined for "insulting Islam and Muhammad"

I talked about "AG" here a while ago, and how he had been arrested for insulting Muhammad.  Now he has been found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine.

Here is what "AG" said to the Muslim which got him charged:

"I spoke with him about the problems between the Pakistani government and Taliban, and when I understood from his responses that he was a supporter of the Taliban, I told him he was crazy because they were terrorists and they kill people and carry out bombings," AG told police. "I didn't say anything bad about Muslims and the Prophet."

Nothing in his statement refers to Muhammad in any way, or to Islam in any way, yet the shopkeeper, in accordance with the Qur'an and hadiths, felt "insulted" and had the man arrested for causing the shopkeeper stress.  It's not about whether "AG" actually said anything untoward, it is about how no one is allowed to say anything about Islam, Muslims or Muhammad unless it is in the best possible light.  Remember, a non-Muslim in Muslim lands must conform to Muslim norms, and when in a non-Muslim land, the non-Muslim must also bow to Muslim norms.

British tourist fined for insulting Islam in shop

DUBAI // A 40-year-old tourist who insulted Islam and called the Prophet Mohammed a terrorist was fined Dh3,000 (appx $800US) yesterday.

AG, a Briton, was charged on May 18 in the Dubai Court of Misdemeanours.
In his court appearance last month he was sent away after appearing in shorts. He was ordered to be suitably dressed before being allowed to enter a plea and deny the charges.

The tourist visited the Emax store in Mall of the Emirates on March 3 and uttered insulting remarks to the salesman HH, 21, from Pakistan.

HH also told investigators that he told AG he was a Muslim and that the greeting he received in response was "namaste", which is Hindi.

HH said he saw AG back in the mall again on March 11 and called security as well as police.

Isn't this very same thing happening now in the United States? Try saying that Muslims were responsible for the attacks on 9-11 and there will be a deafening outcry from Islamic groups across the US. If you say that Islam is linked to terrorism around the world and here in America, representatives from groups like CAIR, MSA, MPAC and others will be seen on every tv station protesting "discrimination" against Muslims. Come out against the honor killings that have occurred throughout America, and Muslims across the land will be protesting your bigotry and "hate speech".
Geert Wilders (the Netherlands) is facing five counts of inciting hatred and discrimination for describing Islam as a fascist religion, Moroccan youths as violent and for calling for the banning of the Quran. Several groups representing Hollands Muslims released a statement saying: "in a democratic system, hate speech is considered so serious that it is in the general interest to ... draw a clear line" and that "the court also considers appropriate criminal prosecution for insulting Muslim worshippers because of comparisons between Islam and Nazism made by Wilders". If convicted Wilders may be sentenced for up to 16 months jail time or a fine of €9866.67 (approximately $14,159.97 US dollars).
There are no laws in the United States SO FAR against criticizing Islam, Muslims or the Prophet, but if various US Islamic groups (backed by US politicians wallowing in political correctness) ever got their way, freedom of speech in the US will be a thing of the past.
