The continuing series from my book, "From the Mouths of our Enemies"

    1965 and 1966 saw Israel suffering greater attacks from the Golan Heights by Syria, while the vitriol coming from Nasser grew louder and more strident.  Nasser kept up the bellicosity with statements such as this from March 8, 1965 "We shall not enter Palestine with its soil covered in sand, we shall enter it with its soil saturated in blood.”(25)  With the shells falling on Israel from the Golan Heights lofty perch at 3,000 feet, Syria was in a position to continue the attacks until the sand was indeed covered in blood. 

    Historically Nasser had already given the quintessential description of Islam’s goal in regard to Israel "There is no sense in talking about peace with Israel. There is not even the smallest place for negotiations"(26) (Oct, 1956).  How does this not fit in with fundamental Islam’s world-view that says "Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you....and slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse that slaughter.  And fight them until persecution is no more and religion is for Allah" (Sura 2, 190-193, Pickthall translation).  This is not an isolated reading of the Qur'an nor is it an "out of context" view, these are Suras and verses which have been upheld as correct and unchangeable by the four main schools of Islamic jurisprudence.

     By April of 1967 more than 112 attacks against Israel and its citizens by fundamental Islam under the guise of "Palestinian Nationalism".  On April 7, 1967 Israel could take no more and retaliated against Syria and their air force.

     Israeli pilots shot down 6 Syrian MIGs, continuing the escalation towards all-out war.  With the help of the USSR and false intelligence provided to Damascus in regards to Israeli troop build-up, Syria decided to invoke its defense treaty it had with Egypt.  Israel’s day of independence, May 15 saw Egyptian troops moving into the Sinai and massing along the Israeli border.  May 18 had Syrian troops bivouacked at the Golan Heights, ready for a fight. 

    The final act of war against Israel began with the removal of UN troops from the Sinai and the blocking of the Strait of Tiran.  These last acts of hatred towards Israel meant she could no longer stand by and wait for her destruction.  Israel must act, and act now.

"Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers.  Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security.  Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself.  Unto Allah is the journeying."

"Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of the bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens.  that (is the ordinance)....And those who are slain in the way of Allah, he rendereth not their actions vain"

   The challenges to Israel’s existence were coming on a daily basis and the gang was growing quickly.  Nasser kept up the drumbeat and within a short time King Hussein of Jordan signed a defense pact with Egypt and Lebanon joined in the fight also. 

    Iraq added its evil voice and soon Israel was looking into the barrel of a gun loaded with the combined strength of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the rest of the Arab world.  Matching deed with word the enemies of Israel mobilized approximately 250,000 troops (nearly half in Sinai), more than 2,000 tanks and 700 aircraft, all arranged in a circle around the neck of Israel.

  

    America had an embargo in place against Israel, as did France so charges against the US by the Arabs that arms were reaching Israel were false and part of the anti-Israel propaganda campaign. 

    Contrastingly the Soviet Union was busy giving weapons to any and all Arabs who asked for them while Kuwait, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq were pouring troops and material to the Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian fronts. 

    Amidst all this, Israel managed to win, in 6 days a military victory against an array of foes worthy of battle against any modern army.  The fact that a pre-emptive assault was needed, and carried out successfully shows that, despite all odds stacked against them, Israel can, and would defend herself, no matter who was threatening.

   At the end of the 6 days, Israel had captured enough land to triple her size, from 8,000 to 26,000 square miles.  Jerusalem was unified and Israel now possessed the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights. 

    However, the Israelis knew that, in order to foster goodwill, showing their willingness to return land taken during the war seemed a good idea.  Subsequently Israel returned all of Sinai to Egypt, Jordanian territory claimed by the Hashemite Kingdom was given back to Jordan, all of the Gaza strip and 50% of the West Bank was turned over to the Palestinian Authority. 

    As of today, Israel has returned over 95% of the land taken during the war.  No other nation in history can make the claim that they have returned, voluntarily and by choice 95% of land taken during hostilities. 

    Still, to this day, fundamental Islam, whether cloaked in nationalism, expansionism or ideological rational continues to persecute and subjugate the "people of the book".  Israel is a boil on the buttocks of Islam and has been for almost 1,400 years.          

             Annihilation.  Extermination.  Eradication.  Obliteration.  Familiar words, used only a few decades past by another group looking for the Jews to disappear.  Unfortunately, it is far from over.  Not only for Israel, but for America, Europe and the rest of the civilized world. 

Airborne Hatred and the Path to Allah

   After the 1967 Six-Day war, it became increasingly more difficult for the Arabs and the states they represented to destroy Israel using their military muscle.  The Jewish state had proven that with grit, determination, training and support from their friends it could withstand the best of Islamic might.  Knowing that they needed new ideas, the newly emerging Palestine Liberation Organization took it to that next level.  A 25,000 foot level, to be exact. 

   On July 23, 1968 the first hijacking in the name of Allah and Muhammad occurred on an El-Al flight from Rome to Algiers.  Two Palestinians and one Syrian took over the plane, members of the then unknown Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).  Founded by George Habash in 1968, the PFLP was the unholy offshoot of Mr. Habash's Arab National Movement founded in 1951. 

    As a Pan-Arab Islamic nationalist movement, the PFLP was awash in Islamic ideology with Jew and non-Muslim hating right at the top of the list.  The mission statement of the PFLP says this, in part "Today, the PFLP "aims to mobilize and lead the struggle of the Palestinian masses for the return to Palestine, self-determination, and the establishment of a Palestinian state. These, in turn, are steps along the path of defeating the Zionist entity, liberating all of Palestine..."(28) which today one can read as the end of Israel and the scattering or death of the Jews.  Similar to the Hamas charter, but with slightly less vitriol. 

   The hijacking of airliners took the fight to a new and more dangerous realm, one in which not just the Israelis were targeted, but now the west and anyone who was perceived to be a friend of Israel came under the gun.  No longer were disgruntled Islamic warriors limited to blowing up things on the ground, now they had a new box of toys to experiment with. 

    Take a plane full of non-Muslims, demand the release of your fellow Muslims, being held unfairly by the crusaders, no doubt and viola!  You’re an instant hero, and possible martyr for Allah.  This tactic worked so well, planes were being taken almost at a whim during the 1970s. 

   By 1973 over 13 hijackings had taken place with planes blown up, hostages killed and demands for prisoner release capitulated to.  Virtually every one was done by, or for the eyes of fundamental Islam and the perpetuation of Muslim doctrine. 

    At this point in time, fundamental Islam had few avenues to vent their anger at Israel and the west, and due to the fact that there was little, if any security for airplanes, this seemed the perfect target for their wrath.  Most attacks were aimed at El-Al Airlines, the official airline of Israel but some were targeted against other entities including countries such as England, Greece, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, US, France, Paraguay, Holland, India, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Yugoslavia, Russia, Austria, and others.  Some were actual hijackings, others were aborted or foiled and some were merely attacks against non-Muslim entities using guns or bombs.

   At the end of 1973, Israel was not the only country now in the cross-hairs of fundamental Islam, most western countries that either supported Israel outright or in the background were being targeted. 

    The PLO in their formative years, famous for their takeover of the cruise ship Achillie Lauro and the killing of handicapped passenger Leon Klinghoffer were the first of the new "media" terrorists in that they wanted the world to know who they were and what ideology drove them to this despicable act. 

    Oct 7th, 1985 is to be remembered not only for the death of an elderly handicapped Jew in a wheelchair, but also for the beginning of a new chapter in the terror that is fundamental (militant) Islam.

   Abu Nidal (Sabri al-Banna) was an active member of the PLO during the 70s and 80s, responsible for over 125 acts of Islamic terror, including the planning of the massacre at Munich during the Olympics in 1972 and the September 8, 1974 bombing of TWA flight 841 in which all 79 passengers died.

     Next on his resume of death is the September 23, 1983 bombing of Gulf Air Flight 771 where 117 people were murdered.  His leadership in the war between Islam and the west has not only encouraged the killing of dozens of non-Muslims, but brought to the forefront the ideological battle lines driving the carnage, who the enemy really was, and the absolute need for brutality, Muhammad style.  Abu Nidal is but one of many past and future Islamic stars who grace the pages of history with the blood of the innocents.

This from the mouth of a professed friend and supplier of oil to the US proves that they cannot hide their visceral hatred of Israel and by extension the US, and this seething animosity has not, and will never be satiated until the democracies across the globe, starting with Israel submit to the will of fundamental Islam. 

    Saudi Arabia is only one of a pair of Islamic countries out of 57 which have fully implemented and rigorously enforce sharia law.  The other is Iran and so, by looking at the doctrines and tenets which guide both dictatorships we can see how, through sharia, the Qur'an and the sunnas and hadiths of Muhammad the overarching canon of law, rule and patriarchal hegemony controlling the lives of Muslims. 

    If we listen carefully Muslims do tell us exactly who they are, what they want and how they will go about getting it.  It’s a perfect parallel to the rise of Hitler who, after taking power in the early 30s began to slowly heat the pot with the frog in it, knowing full well that he could fool the west by raising the heat ever so gently over time.  He said all the words, rattled his sabers and amassed his armies (against the peace accord signed after WWI) and we did nothing. 

    English political nabob Neville Chamberlain did wave the paper and declared "peace in our time" but that was a lie, a ruse, a photo-op.  There was nothing in the doctrine of the Nazis which allowed them to accept anything less than complete rule of the Aryans, today it is the same except you can tell the enemy not by the uniform but by the Qur'an in their hand. 

   The Saudi relevance in airplane commandeering is not to be minimized or overlooked, their contribution to the spread of fundamental Islam comes in the form of 15 hijackers out of 19 who, on a beautiful September day turned their hijacked planes into missiles for Allah, re-defining the meaning of terror for 3,000 innocents and the whole of the civilized world. 

    That episode, now frozen in time shattered our innocence and caused the airline industry to change their security rules to where it is virtually impossible to hijack a commercial plane anywhere in the "civilized" world today, however removing one avenue of horror just means there will have to be other options developed. 

    Homicide bombers, for example.  Deadly, easy, cheap and a guaranteed pass right to the front of the "72 Virgins Here" line.  Another evil trick pulled from the religion of peace “Allahu Akbar" bag 'o hate.
