"The preacher was convicted of giving support to militants in Aceh province who were plotting to impose Sharia law in Indonesia through a campaign of violence and murder."

The jihadist who planned the Bali bombing which murdered over 200 will spend the next decade or so in prison.  That's just ducky with me.  What bothers me the most is the fact that this jihadist was operating in Aceh province, the area devastated by the earthquake and tsunami a few years ago.

What does that have to do with this article, you ask?  Well, if not for the generous relief aid we in the West sent to those poor, blighted people, those such as this cleric would have had much less a chance to regroup and continue their jihad.  It was our money which has paid for the survival and proliferation of Islam in Aceh, and it was done under the guise of humanitarian aid to the poor.

We seriously need to re-think that policy.
