Well, not the NBA of basketball fame, but the Nigerian Bar Association. See what happens when you assume? The group Boko Haram, or "books, him bad" as Roland Shirk says is the premier jihadist force in Nigeria and have been agitating for sharia law over the past decade or so. It is refreshing to hear a legal body stand against sharia, but as we have seen before their protestations may cost them a permanent disbarment.

NBA which condemned the group (Boko Haram) for the killings and maiming of innocent citizens and attacks on places of worship in Borno State, called on the Federal and State Governments to overhaul their security apparatus to combat the attacks by the group, which it noted could hamper economic growth and scare away internal and external investment.
Mr Joseph Daudu, SAN, NBA President in a communiqué after the association’s National Executive, NEC, meeting in Abuja, said “we condemned all acts of terrorism within the country. We recognise that terrorist groups and acts are thriving in various parts of Nigeria as a result of security lapses.
It was, therefore resolved that government should overhaul its security apparatus in order to combat this menace which hampers economic growth and scares away internal and external investment. This overhaul should include seeking expert assistance from our foreign allies who have had positive and encouraging results in their own fight against terrorism.”
Further he said, “we condemn the actions and proposals of the Governor of Borno State by acceding to one of the demands of the faceless terrorists which is, to implement the Sharia Legal System in Borno State. It is a standard worldwide practice not to give in to demands made by Kidnappers or terrorists as that will only encourage and validate the use of violence, force and or other illegal means to achieve illegitimate goals.
