Christians decide to not turn the other cheek in Nigeria

Christians across the globe are suffering at the hands of jihadists, and the increased incidences recently only showcase the need for more public outcry and intervention from those higher powers we sometimes count on to help in times of need.

Africa is especially hard-pressed in these times, to halt the rapid spread of Islam across the top third of the continent.  Somalia is gone, Kenya and Ethiopia are teetering and Nigeria, home to more than a few jihadists is seeing itself being torn apart by wjat the media calls "secterian strife", a misgnomer if ever there was one.

It was going to happen eventually, that Christians would take up arms to defend themselves from the "Religion of Peace" so this story will continue, until Christians are gone from all of Africa, and the star and crescent flies above the land.  Islamic doctrine will not let any competing ideology exist, and so the fight Christians are engaged in will ultimately end with their defeat.

I fear for the future, and fight to prevent that fear from becoming a reality.

JOS, Nigeria – Rioters set homes ablaze and angry youths armed with machetes set up roadblocks Sunday throughout a central Nigerian city plagued by violence between Christians and Muslims, witnesses said.

Witnesses heard gunshots and saw smoke rising Sunday afternoon from a southern neighborhood in the city of Jos, where more than 500 people died last year.

The latest rioting comes after 11 people died Saturday around Jos from religious violence and a political rally gone awry.

Police officers and soldiers struggled to keep the violence under control.

"We have deployed our men to control the situation," said Plateau state police commissioner Abdurrahman Akano.

Sunday's violence appeared to be a reaction to other attacks over the weekend. Christian youths attacked a car full of Muslims returning from a wedding in central Nigeria on Friday night, killing seven people inside the vehicle and sparking retaliatory violence that left one other person dead, an official said Saturday. Another three people were killed and several others were wounded when a meeting of a political party aligned with former military dictator Muhammadu Buhari collapsed into violence, witnesses said.

An eye for an eye, and there are plenty of eyes between Muslims and Christians in Africa.  This is going to be very bad in the near future.
