Anti-burqa artist defies death threats from the "religion of peace" and keeps mural on his wall

The land down under is having it's share of Islamic agitation, but there are still many who resist the Islamic conquest of Australia, including glass sculptor Sergio Redegalli who, in the face of death threats refuses to remove his "Say No to Burqas" mural.  As with all who criticize Islamic doctrine, he is called the usual litany of names, threatened with harm and the mural itself has seen over 40 incidences of vandalism, all of which are quickly repaired by Mr. Redegalli.

The reasoning behind the mural is "...to promote debate about the Islamic face veil, which he sees as a symbol of repression and violent extremism." says Redegalli.

Why you nasty Islamophobe!  How dare you speak of Islam in that way!

A SYDNEY artist whose anti-burka mural has infuriated left-wing and Islamic activists is vowing that the provocative artwork will stay in place despite death threats, abuse, a string of vandalism attacks, a violent weekend protest and a police request to remove it.

Newtown glass sculptor Sergio Redegalli has this week restored the mural painted outside his studio for more than the 40th time after dozens of graffiti and paint-bomb attacks by protesters who say it is racist and inflammatory.

In the latest incident last Sunday, a crowd of 50 activists hurled paint at the mural and then turned on police who had to call in reinforcements to restore order.

Activists, as if you are to believe they are activists for animal rights, or more environmentally-friendly paint, not anything to do with Islam.

Seven men were arrested and charged with offences including resisting police, assaulting police and destroying or damaging property.

The charges will be heard in Newtown Local Court next month. Redegalli blames local left-wing groups, rather than Muslim activists, for the incident.

Ahh yes, the local lefties are to blame.  Maybe Mr. Redegalli understand the dangers inherent in criticizing Muslims, and has opted for the safer path.

The sculptor, who is a well-known figure in inner-suburban Newtown, says he has since been visited by local police who asked him to take down the mural after learning of a threat to fire-bomb it.

Do not go after those who threaten to do harm, go after the one who is perceived to be starting the fire.

The police are asking him to be the good and faithful dhimmi and shut up.

Sickening.
