It is appaling that anyone would burn a book. The very act conjurs up images of book-burnings in Germany during the Nazi era. Back in September I wrote here about Pastor Terry Jones and his plan to burn a Qur'an. Now we have a story out of England where an arrest is made because someone set a Qur'an on fire. We know what would have happened if it was a Bible or Torah that had been ignited, there would have been silence. Maybe some grumbling and whining but nothing as dangerous as how Muslims act when a symbol of their religion is "insulted".
I do not know when Britain outlawed free speech in the form of burning a book, but the man was arrested for "..suspicion of using racially aggravated threatening words or behaviour.."
Remind me, what race is Islam again?

The man is then alleged to have set fire to the Koran he was holding before discarding it on the floor and hurrying away. Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and are now investigating.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested.

Man held in Koran burning inquiry
A man has been arrested after a Koran was allegedly burned during an anti-Islamic rant, police have said.
He was reported to have stood on a street in Carlisle city centre on Wednesday making pronouncements against the Muslim religion in front of a large crowd.
The man is then alleged to have set fire to the Koran he was holding before discarding it on the floor and hurrying away. Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and are now investigating.
