Valentine Jihad from Iran

It never fails to surprise me, the lengths Islam will go to try and stop Western traditions.  Whether it be Christmas, pants, laughing on the beach, driving without a male present, beer, the list goes on and on.  A majority of restrictions on Western celebratory festivities happen in either Iran or Saudi Arabia, with a smattering in Somalia, Indonesia, Malaysia or a few other outlying Muslim enclaves.  My favorite despot, Ahmadinejad of Iran and his morality police have deemed Valentines Day haram, or forbidden in Islam.

No more flowers, cherubs with little arrows, chocolates, hearts and those sappy cards we all love to give and receive.  Remember, the Ayatollah Khomeini said "There is no humor in Islam"

TEHRAN — Shops in Iran have been banned from selling Valentine cards and gifts, the ILNA news agency reported on Sunday, as the traditional lovers' day gains increasing popularity in the Islamic republic.

"In the run-up to Valentine's Day on February 14 the printing works owners' union issued a directive banning the printing and distribution of any goods promoting this day," ILNA news agency reported.

"Printing and producing any goods related to this day including posters, boxes and cards emblazoned with hearts or half-hearts, red roses and any activities promoting this day are banned," the union said in the directive.

"Outlets that violate this will be legally dealt with," it warned.

Just imagine how dangerous it would be to the leaders of Iran if love broke out all over.
