Jews now require yamulkah-wearing in Gaza...wait, what?

Sounds silly doesn't it?  How would the world respond, hearing that Israel was now requiring it's citizens to wear the traditional Jewish male headgear.  Outrage, condemnation and accusations that Judaism was being imposed on people who may not want it.  So why is this a one-way street when it concerns Islam, and since the voices of outrage remain silent can we be sure anyone cares?

When Hamas was "elected" in 2006, the world hailed it as a great leap forward in the "democratization" of the refugees in Gaza, and an example of what can happen if we just all get along.  After almost 6 years in power, the signs of Palestinian "nationalism" have been replaced with the Qur'an and all it's gory glory.

Hamas is a jihadist/Islamist group with one goal in mind:  kill the Jews, take Israel and inpose sharia and fundamental islam throughout the region, and ultimately the globe.  They say it in their charter and are quite clear on their intentions and goals.  This article is another puzzle piece of the steady creep of Islam.

Gaza's elected Islamist rulers crack down on secular community

After nearly four years of Hamas rule, the Gaza Strip's small secular community is in tatters, decimated by the militant group's campaign to impose its strict version of Islam in the coastal territory.

Hamas has bullied men and women to dress modestly, tried to keep the sexes from mingling in public and sparked a flight of secular university students and educated professionals. Most recently, it has confiscated novels it deems offensive to Islam from a bookshop and banned Gaza's handful of male hairdressers from styling women's hair.

Nothing like a little sharia to brighten up the day.

Some argue that the case of Gaza could also be a warning sign for those pushing for quick democratic reforms in the region. Hamas rose to power in part by winning internationally backed parliamentary elections held in 2006.

Hamas officials say claims that they are trying to Islamise Gaza are meant to help deter the international community from recognising their rule. "This isn't true," said Yousef Rizka, a senior Hamas government official. "We respect freedom."

Freedom within Islam, he means.
