Fake book bomb sent by four Indonesian teen-age girls

Usually, teen angst is manifested by driving fast, sex in the back seat and drinkimg Jagermeister until you puke on your shoes.  In Indonesia, teen girls are not worried about the boy in the next village, they want to learn the ways of bomb-making and packaging for maximum effect.

Ah how I yearn for the good old days.

From The Jakarta Post July 16

4 teenage girls nabbed for allegedly sending mock book bomb

Four girls were arrested and questioned at the Bima Police precinct on Saturday for having allegedly sent a mock book bomb to the house of a police officer in Kampung Melayu, Asakota, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.

The girls, who wore veils covering their faces, were spotted by the wife of low-ranking police officer Brig. Mulyadin while placing a thick book in front of the house. Mulyadin’s wife called the police, who later arrested the girls.

The situation in the regency has been on high alert following a homemade bomb that exploded at an Islamic boarding school on Tuesday.

Days of tense conflict followed between police and armed civilians guarding the school. Police have arrested at least 14 people allegedly implicated in the explosion.

“We are still questioning [the girls]. We haven’t yet established their motives,” Bima Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Kumbul KS said, as quoted by kompas.com.

The police bomb squad neutralized the suspect book by blowing it up.

Police investigators also raided the house where the suspects had reportedly been staying to search for evidence. The house is apparently close to Mulyadin’s residence.

I wonder if the Bima Police could help educate some of our law enforcement and security personnel.
