Dhimmitude in Oregon

Well it is official, Lane Community College will NOT let me teach Islam.  Their official statement has been released, and no they did not send it to me directly, I had to get it from the KVAL news website.  In typical PC fashion, their explanation was no explanation, just the usual lefty/progressive platitudes about tolerance, diversity, community needs and the good of the social order.  I am positive CAIR and their supporters, as well as all the interfaith and bridge-building buffoons are laughing all the way to their next w(h)ine and cheese party.
   When you read their statement, it is painfully obvious that the social order must be maintained, there will be no dissent or foreign opinions and the will of LCC, in regards to what is best for the community at large must be paramount. 
  They make sure to say that this decision had nothing to do with any pressure from outside groups, yet my source tells me that indeed, the CAIR press release was part of their decision to cancel the class. 
  If the powers at LCC really wanted to practice what they preach, they would have let the class go on as scheduled.  Their choice to pretend this has everything to do with community values and nothing to do with the very real threat of Muslim backlash shows their yellow streak.  They have a perfect opportunity to actually educate, to present information of a critical nature and open up a larger dialogue.  But no, the cowering president of LCC, and her band of PC enforcers want no mention of that which stirs unpleasant feelings: Islam.
   Of course, if the class were to fit within their narrow view of what is acceptable speech in town, I am sure it would be allowed.  If the class were to have a Muslim as a teacher, happy days are here.  If the class practiced self-censorship and only taught one side of Islam, that would be just dandy.  As long as pleasantries are exchanged we will all be the better person. 
  If the class were a critical examination of Christianity, CAIR would be right there in support.  We know that any mention of the religion of peace as anything but peaceful, and that it has been hijacked by that tiny minority of extremists is not allowed.  CAIR has proved that once again.
  The school bowed to a Hamas supporting, flying imam backing, un-indicted co-conspirator labeled, jihad providing club of thugs.  We shall see just how hard they will hold onto their misguided attempt at appeasement to Islamic sensibilities.
