Raising Cane

Remember the American, I think it was, who was caned for a minor transgression?  His case was all over the news, and everyone weighed in on the issue.  Now we have another caning incident, yet there is no global press, no world-wide outrage or debate, just the usual silence in the face of creeping sharia.

Two people have been arrested after the death of a Bangladeshi woman who was publicly caned for allegedly having an affair with her stepson, police say.

A group of village elders and clerics sentenced Sufia Begum under Sharia law to 40 lashes for adultery.

What, no stoning?  Must be "moderates" in her village.

It is thought to be the first case of a fatality linked to a Sharia law punishment since the practice was outlawed(earlier this year).

The government bans the implimentation of certain types of punishment in sharia law, yet the practice is still done, most likely by the "misunderstanders" of the religion of peace.

"According to the information we've received, village elders tied 10 canes together and beat her four times," Masud Parvez, an investigating police officer, told the BBC.

Why not just beat her with a Louisville slugger, it would be the same effect.
