A PROSECUTOR has thrown out a complaint made by a Muslim family against a geography teacher who mentioned pork in their son’s class.
The teacher was explaining how cold climate in Granada highlands helps to preserve local Serrano ham.
Obviously this discussion did not "preserve the dignity" of the Muslim student.

Yeah, religious people are always acting silly and trying to make secular schools reflect their wacko religious ideals. Just like when the Christians are always trying to teach Creationism, deny evolution, and push the Bible as a work of non-fiction. Oh yeah, and then there are the Jews who throw a fit if anyone cuts down a tree and brings it inside, or if a white man with an awesome beard dresses in red.
Unfortunately religion conflicts with historical and scientific fact; not to mention common sense. You are right when you say these peoples' opinions should not be taken seriously in a public school setting (or anywhere else for that matter!)
