LCC and their Decision

The ACLJ has released for public view their demand letter to LCC.  The issue of free speech, breach of contract and the first amendment are clearly laid out, and the legal challenges are very powerful.  The ball is now in the lap of LCC and Mary Spilde, their decision will also have long-range implications as to academias role in shaping community thoughts and ideals through the free exchange of information.  It also brings to the forefront a open discussion of Islamic doctrine in the public arena, and the role of schools in providing an open forum for controversial topics.

Think of this as similar to the Scopes trial, but with Islam instead of monkeys being scrutinized.

You can see the entire demand letter here.

The demands of CAIR are readily addressed with copious notes, the explanation of why CAIR is so important in this regard is an eye-opener.  For those of you who love who-dunnits, stay tuned.  See if you can put yourself in the shoes of LCC.  What would you do now?

They have until Wednesday, Dec 15 to make a decision.  They will do what is right for LCC, whatever that may be.
