Beauty pagent in Ukraine ends with a "stoned" contestant

Islam in the Ukraine, who would have thought.  So many places around the globe are now suffering from Islamic expansion and Muslim agitation for sharia that it is hard to keep track of the new ones.  The Ukraine is not immune, especially as they are close to those former Soviet states which turned Islamic after 1989: Balkans, Chechnya, Kurdistan, Uzbekistan and others.

Sharia demands the death of a family member who is seen as having "dishonored" the name they carry.  Women are the most victimized by sharia, their entire life revolves around protecting the family and the family name, therefore anything that the family may suffer from regarding honor, the female usually takes the brunt of the offense.  Men , after all can do no wrong, it is always the woman who is to blame for the actions of Muslim society at large, including the behavior of men.

This article highlights the inequity women have in Islamic society, despite Western protestations to the contrary.  Something as simple as wanting to dress other than in traditional Muslim garb gets a death penalty, not from a court or judge, but from Allah and the Qur'an.  Saying that Katya Koren deserved to die because she "violated the laws of sharia" should be clear enough for anyone to understand.

This is Islam.

Katya Koren, 19, lived in the Crimea region of the Ukraine.
Her battered body was found buried in woodland.

A teenage Muslim girl was stoned to death under 'Sharia law' after taking part in a beauty contest in Ukraine.

Katya Koren, 19, was found dead in a village in the Crimea region near her home. Friends said she liked wearing fashionable clothes and had come seventh in a beauty contest. Her battered body was buried in a forest and was found a week after she disappeared.

Police have opened a murder probe and are investigating claims that three Muslim youths killed her claiming her death was justified under IslamOne of the three - named as 16-year-old Bihal Gaziev - is under arrest and told police she had 'violated the laws of Sharia'.

Gaziev said he had no regrets about her death because she had violated the laws of Islam.
Allah must be so proud of this 16 year-old.

Please, don't do injustice in the name of Islam. Islam is very pious, DON"T defame it. Killing of the beauty contestant is not only a crime but thinking of her violating Sharia is so absurd. All, male or female, are equal in the eyes of Allah and should have freedom to choose their will. Her killers should be penalized severely. and also those, who manipulate in misguide people about Sharia or make them do wrong deeds in the name of Islam.

Anonymous that is a very touching and heartfelt plea! You are speaking taqiyya however when you say that all are equal in the eyes of Allah and all have freedom to choose. Brutality, inequality and murder are facts of life for Muslim women, actually brutality and death is the way of life for all Muslims. Shariah is a totalitarian ideology much like Communism, and Islam and Shariah weren't hijacked by a few misguided criminals when they stoned this 19 year old girl to death. You are absolutely correct when you say that Islam is very "pious", and the men (boys) who murdered Katya were behaving as very PIOUS MUSLIMS. They were fulfilling their religious/Quranic duty to kill those who defame, mock or disgrace Islam. No, those boys aren't one of those frequently cited examples of individuals who "misunderstand" the true nature of Islam; these boys understood with perfect clarity the tenets of Islam and Shariah Law and they only behaved exactly as their
"religion" demanded. The worn out old shtick that Islam means "peace" is something that Americans aren't buying any longer.
